Mario made me feel so special during my wedding. Having a nonstandard body type (short with a thicker bottom half), finding suits that fit me is a nightmare. Mario made me a custom velvet tuxedo jacket for my wedding and it was amazing! It fit perfectly and made me feel so confident. Mario was always willing to help - he stated multiple times that his goal was to make me feel the best on my big day, and that’s really how it felt!
My husband also had a custom suit but we unfortunately had some fit issues in his. Mario did everything he could to help us make it work, but in the end, we were able to work something else out and Mario was gracious and easy to work with. He understood completely which was extremely thoughtful and helped during a stressful situation.
He also tailored two suits we bought on Etsy as well. They fit perfectly, especially my pants which were a bit worrisome in the beginning with flaring pockets at the hip. He masterfully suggested closing the pockets which resolved the issue and made the pants fit like a glove.
Everyone commented on how good we looked that night and how amazing both of our suits were. We look fantastic in our pictures and it’s thanks to Mario and his team.
If you want amazing craftsmanship and customer service, look no further than Mario and his team at Monetti’s tailoring.
This is the first time I've ever brought myself to leave a negative review. The owner of this shop was rude, inappropriate and chose to body-shame me when I showed up for a first alteration of my wedding dress.
After 20 minutes reviewing the small alterations that needed to be done, he told me that since my "breasts are too low" that he cannot do the work on my dress unless I return with a "lift". I relayed to him that I feel comfortable in my body and do not mind. He said "I mind & since my work on your dress is an advertisement for the work I do, I will not work on your dress because it looks bad." I am 1 month and a half out from my wedding, my dress fits and needs minimal to no work & this man chose to scrutinize my body because he had an opinion about my breasts. I cannot emphasize enough how inappropriate this is & truly hope this experience leads to him internalizing his sexist idea of beauty and how my body should look & treats others differently in the future. He will never get that chance to work with me again & I recommend looking elsewhere for your alterations.
He also ripped a thread on my dress during the alteration process that I will now have to get fixed elsewhere.
This man is despicable. Do better.
I’ve never posted a negative review in my life, but this horrible man has no place owning a business or speaking with women. Please, as a matter of principle, do not go here for your wedding or any other tailoring work. If his business closes down, it will be just a fraction of what he deserves for the way he treated my fiancée.
I just returned from a business trip to find my fiancée in tears. She went to Monetti Tailoring to get minor alterations on her wedding dress. Our wedding is next month. Mario Gahona, the owner, told her she looked bad because, in his words, “her boobs were too low.” He said he didn’t want to work on her and her dress, because he thought she looked bad and that it would reflect poorly on his business.
This is supposed to be the happiest moment of my fiancée’s life, and she’s been traumatized by this monster. This is the memory she’ll associate with her wedding dress.
For what it’s worth, he also ripped a seam of her dress in the process of demeaning her body, so she’ll have to get it fixed elsewhere. I can also say that I’ve met him in the past, when I went to pick up some other alterations. He was verbally abusive to his staff and interrupted one of them when she went to retrieve our clothes from the back, insisting that he do it himself. He then returned with both the clothes we left with him and several of someone else’s. Luckily, I noticed and brought them back. You might not be as lucky when he gives your clothes to someone else. Hopefully his staff, who are much more qualified and professional than he is, are able to help customers before he gets in the way and messes it up. And hopefully they’ll find better jobs soon so they don’t have to work for this creep anymore.
My fiancée is beautiful, with a heart of gold, and I’m sure we’ll find someone else who deserves to work on her dress. As we try to work that out, please do not patronize Mario Gahona’s business. I will be posting this on every possible review outlet so that potential and current clients know what type of person they will be dealing with. Not only cruel, arrogant, and sexist, but incompetent.
Mario is incredibly talented! He was so great to work with, always on time and reasonable rates. Recommend him for sure!
Mario & his team at Monetti Tailoring made my wedding dress look even more amazing than it did when I got it. They worked through every detail until I (and they) were completely satisfied. They were attentive not only to the fit of the dress, but also my comfort in it. There isn't anyone else I'd trust with my clothes, let alone such an important garment!
They are exceptional. I trusted them with my wedding dress that needed a lot of detailed alterations around the bust area, and my dress has intricate beading so I was very nervous about getting it altered. The team at Monetti took all the time needed to get it right. I would not trust anyone else!
I made arrangements very late and several changes but Mario and his team fulfilled every request while making me feel beautiful. Could not be happier and received nothing but compliments on my wedding dress. :)
I cannot say enough GREAT things about Monetti tailoring. I recently brought my wedding dress to them - being petite, it needed a ton of work, but they were patient, spent so much time on it, and got it absolutely perfect. Through many layers of material, lace, and a bit of asymmetry, they made it fit like a glove and I got so many compliments on it. They also did an amazing bustle - I included a picture because they made it look like I never had a train to begin with - so comfortable. I invested in alterations, but it was worth every penny. I definitely plan to take all of my future alterations there, and I'm so glad I trusted them with my wedding dress!
