Monica is just so incredible. She was definitely already on the right foot with me after scheduling our first meeting at my favorite coffee shop (Catalina!) after I found her on Instagram. At the meeting, she brought sample albums of her photos to scope out, then took our engagement photos within a week of signing our contract (as we booked her both for engagements and wedding photos). She made my husband and I so comfortable (as we are both a little camera shy), and she took a lot of film photos for us, which we really really REALLY wanted. She also knew we loved black and white photos, so she took several of those with film as well. She assured me that while much of her Instagram and wedding album photos were outdoor, she had a lot of experience with indoor photography (as our wedding was in August and all indoors), and she showed me samples of indoor photography she had also. She adhered to our contract, providing engagement photos faster than what was outlined in our contract and wedding photos right on time (even though she had nearly 10 weddings in a row out of town, her own wedding planning, and a son who got sick)! Aside from all of her professionalism in the process, Monica was such a great friend to my husband and I. She was emotionally supportive of us, organized, and quick on her feet with a tight timeline throughout our wedding day. I was so thankful to not only have her as a vendor, but also as a confidant and friend. Monica took the time to visit our church and reception venues to scope them out for her photos, confirmed the details of my wedding timeline (and asked questions and recommended updates where necessary) and the types of photos I wanted taken, and was so gentle with our guests while exerting authority to ensure we got things done in a timely manner. I’m so grateful for her! I learned, through booking her, it truly makes the wedding day that much more special to have vendors who are also cheering you on and celebrating your marriage alongside you.
