modating, & went above & beyond during the planning process. However, on the actual day, a few key mistakes were made that impacted our experience. Ultimately, the root cause of the day of mishaps stemmed from lack of communication & coordination between our planner & MC. We will place the majority of the blame on our planner, however some accountability does fall on MC. Our planner communicated the timelines via a platform called “Timeline Genius” & while the MC team answered our planner’s other questions, they ultimately didn’t confirm the timeline. This lack of confirmation & lack of follow-up is an oversight by our planner. But essentially, the team didn’t arrive until 1 hour after the time we thought they were arriving. By the time the flowers arrived, delays was already well underway. The most important floral arrangement was my bouquet with my late father’s tie wrapped around it so he could "walk" me down the aisle, & unfortunately the tie was left behind. The team worked to remediate this quickly & retrieved the tie from the shop & delivered it to the wedding about 1 hr before our ceremony, which I truly appreciate. Additionally, the tie was wrapped differently than expected. We learned after the wedding that this was due to the size/shape of the actual bouquet. No issues here overall, but a head’s up would have been nice. Our altar arrangements also looked different than expected. We learned this was due to flower availability & the team had to take creative license for a replacement. The team is skilled &I understand the need for creative license, but it was surprising to see vibrant orange at the altar when our aesthetic was muted. Communication of this before the event would have been appreciated. Another source of miscommunication was repurposing the bridesmaids bouquets to the sweetheart table. This was something discussed with MC early on, but we later learned they expected our planner to do this. We were able to make the change ourselves but again, it’s clear more communication was needed between MC & our planner. Now onto the things we loved about working with MC: They are extremely collaborative about working with you on a color palette as well as which types of flowers fit in your budget. They never hesitated to hop on a phone call if you had any changes or questions. Their contract was the easiest vendor contract to read out of all of the vendors we worked with. It listed the types of florals, arrangements, locations of arrangements, colors, etc. Essentially, their contract embedded the setup instructions for the day of. This made it so easy for us to read, understand, & double check. I truly cannot emphasize enough how fantastic their contract system is. We loved it! They offer a table mockup at their location in West Harrison. This is a huge benefit & allows you to really see what the centerpieces will look like, & they were collaborative in exploring alterations. They know the NYBG extremely well. We sourced all of our candles through them & they immediately knew how many windowsills the venue had. Ultimately, I would work with MC again. I would be sure to have a final meeting with them the week of/a few days before the wedding to make sure nothing is missed & not rely on a planner to have those conversations.

They were easy to work with and checked in a month before to make sure nothing had changed. Most importantly they worked with us to stay inside of our budget which was so appreciated. I have to say that when you go for the more colorful vision, you never know exactly how it’s going to turn out but my mind was truly blown when I saw my flowers. It was everything I wanted and more. given my initial vision was $10k over where I wanted to be and yet they were still able to meet me exactly where I was and make it everything I could have dreamed of. They helped set up bistro lights outside as well as cocktail table candles and flowers, table pieces, a real Christmas tree that we had guests decorate with ornaments as they got their place cards, a garland wrapping around the main post through the room, flowers for the cake, candles on the windowsills, a boutonnière for my husband and the perfect dark red winter bouquet for me. They were friendly and kind and prompt, I highly recommend them.

, who makes you choose a florist from a list of four vendors. You're not allowed to choose your own florist. Of the list of florists Monica was the only one not astronomically priced, so we went with her. (My advice to future brides would be to negotiate with your venue to allow you to choose your own florist!) We had one initial phone conversation with Monica when we secured our contract with her where we went over a draft very basic vision of what we were planning. She had seemed nice enough at the time. Fast forward several months, we had to cancel our wedding at Glen Island due to NYS Covid restrictions. We had told Monica our change of venue. We also updated her on a new vision for centerpieces to fit a more intimate small-scale wedding. I had noticed in the contract that contract was "final" 30 days prior to the event. Monica nor her assistant had ever reached out to me. I had to reach out to her prior to the 30 days to schedule a meeting to see some mock centerpieces. She wouldn't allow me an in-person meeting due to Covid 60 days out, so her assistant Melissa insisted I wait until 32 days out to have a facetime (in which it would really be too late to find a new vendor if you were unhappy). When it was time for our facetime the flowers that Monica presented to me were TRULY PITTIFUL. There were barely any florals, they didn't match my updated vision I had sent her, and she stated that the table setting was exactly what Glen Island would be having ....but that wasn't my venue anymore. We ended up deciding to not go with Monica as we felt that she wouldn't be able to execute our vision properly. When we let her know she was rude and unprofessional towards us. I'm so appalled that a small business owner, let alone someone you hire to make sure your wedding day is your dream day, would be such a horrible human. I would not recommend Monica to any future brides and I'm appalled at the excuse of a vendor she states to be.

When my bouquet arrived, I was stunned at how absolutely perfect and beautiful it was. Not to mention it smelt, AMAZING. The men's boutonnieres arrived perfectly stored and labeled. The bridesmaid's bouquets were perfect. When I arrived to the venue and saw our reception room, I was truly blown away. It was stunning. The simple elegance I had envisioned and then some. I could not have asked for anything more. I received countless compliments on the centerpieces and my bouquet, the greens, the escort table EVERYTHING. From start to finish, Monica and Melissa were beyond accommodating, professional, timely and a total joy. I will be using Monica Chimes for all future floral needs. g was let go half way through my planning process. I wasn't informed of this, so when I arrived to my next appointment I was introduced to my new florist. I went along with it because I was fairly confident that my vision would easy to carry out and I was trying to be flexible. The week before my wedding I received a call saying that my flowers had come in and that one of the flowers was a lot brighter than expected. I asked if it would look okay and the florist reassured me it would. So I agreed to keep it. On the day of my wedding the flowers were delivered without a word, without the florist there and worst of all---- they were NOTHING like what I had picked out. Just as the other bride described--- they were absolutely and totally different. The bright colored flower was taken out all together leaving me with completely neutral bouquets. They looked nothing like what I had described and the pictures I had shown. When I contacted the florist (They never even gave me a heads up) they said that they made an executive decision to take the bright flowers out and that they were sorry I was disappointed. I must say, I was most disappointed that I wasn't told of this decision and that the florist didn't personally come to deliver my flowers given the situation. The flowers were nice, but it made me so sad that they were nothing like what I wanted. I'm not sure why the florist felt that this was the correct way to handle the situation, but it felt like very poor costumer service. I wish I had the flowers I asked for, because my experience leading up to the wedding day wasn't necessarily a bad one. Luckily, I decided to let it go and didn't let it ruin my day.
