We've changed our wedding date three times, and throughout the entire process, Monica has been nothing short of a dream. She was so accommodating and so compassionate and kind. We ...

first met Monica at our complimentary engagement shoot and her easygoing nature definitely made us feel super relieved. (Posing for photos is not a common thing for us, that's for sure!) But, Monica made us feel like we were pros and have been posing our entire lives! Monica's style is romantic and that's what made us choose her; her previous photography showcases her artistic vision and I really feel like she stands out from a lot of photographers that have the tendency to over edit and wash their subjects out with bright color. Monica was so patient with us--my party was running late getting ready and she still managed to get all the portraits we wanted. Not to mention, she has a good understanding of lighting and was able to reposition us in a way that she knew would look best in the photos. I can't wait to work with Monica again in the future for some other type of portrait...who knows, maybe maternity? ;) If you're considering hiring Monica I would undoubtedly say YES!!!

g was with 40 people. My family and friends all commented how kind and nice Monica was. Besides how much I enjoy Monica personally, she was incredibly professional and talented. The photos took my breath away. I really wanted to make sure she captured the day "as it was" without much posing. She did exactly that. She captured all of these incredible images of my guests enjoying the day, which are so special to me. She made Will and I felt so comfortable and special. Couldn't have imagined a more ideal photographer for our day.

She sent us our final gallery and we were blown away with how beautiful our photos looked. We cannot wait to use our photos on our save the dates and share them with all our family and friends. so much fun and the entire experience felt so natural and comfortable. Once we saw the gallery, it was no question we needed Monica to be our photographer for our wedding day! Planning has been seamless and exciting so far; Monica is so easy to talk to and helps explain all of the little details very clearly. She really goes above and beyond for her clients and her passion for photography is evident. I am so excited to continue working with her in preparation for our wedding!

I have to say it was by far the best experience. My fiancé hates pictures, and doing this shoot for sure took both of us out of our comfort zone. But Monica made sure that it was fun and very comfortable, she made us feel that we could be ourselves and made the shoot so much fun.

Monica is a wonderful photographer and an even nicer person. She photographed a friend's wedding and after talking to her on the phone I knew she was the right photographer for us...

. From the beginning she was professional and responsive. My husband and I have very busy work schedules both working 60+ hours a week and she was able to schedule our engagement session without difficulty. I hate taking photos and she immediately makes you feel comfortable and not awkward behind the camera, especially with posed shots. When it came to wedding planning and day of scheduling she took control after I gave her a brief idea of the shots I wanted (I by no means consider myself to be the typical bride and had no desire to plan anything). After receiving the final product, gallery and printed photos we could not be happier and the photos are beautiful. She also was very well priced which is a plus for such fabulous work.

Brendan K

Monica takes the awkwardness out of the shoot the moment you meet her. She’s also great at capturing those party reception shots.

everything. I was a bride who was very on top of things and needed a lot of reassurance, and she just did that. Monica answered my excessive amount of emails in a timely manner and brought all my ideas to life! She is also a sweetheart which makes it such a pleasure working with her. She exceeded our expectations and highly recommended to all future brides... She won't let you down!

ments and the essence of our love story for the wedding. I am one to look at all my options before making a decision but with Monica, I knew I did NOT need to look any further and she was the perfect fit. I was lucky to have her capture my engagement shoot- which by the way- came out so beautiful! Monica exceeded my expectations and still have my family talking about how beautiful my "save the dates" turned out. She made my fiancé (who is VERY camera shy) and I feel very comfortable from the very beginning! I shared my vision with her and she LITERALLY delivered it! She shared helpful tips throughout the shoot and was just as excited to be a part of it as we were . I highly recommend Monica Mendoza without hesitations! She is professional, organized, creative and most importantly, personal to you and you fiancé.

We talked to several photographers and decided to work with Monica essentially because we liked her photos the most and because after talking to her, we thought she was a good fit ...

for us. We did have an engagement session with her and seeing those pictures simply confirmed our choice. She made the experience really easy for everyone at our reception. She did wrangle groups and families to obtain the requisite photos (e.g., my family, my wife's family, etc.) and also managed to capture a lot of candid images of the day. We are very happy with the mix of posed and spontaneous pictures she took. One of the things we really appreciated about working with Monica is that she is very organized. She helped us decide what we wanted from the day in terms of pictures and then did a lot of leg work and planning ahead of time to ensure she could shoot what we had discussed. She was polite, very patient and always professional throughout the day while at the same time ensuring she remained on track and on time to capture all of the important moments. Overall, with her work before, during and after our weeding Monica helped make our wedding day stress-free for me, my wife and our families. We were delighted with the pictures she took as well as with the album she designed for us.

f our photos only a couple of weeks after getting married in June, and even more pleased with the rest of the photos. Monica was not feeling well on the day of our wedding, and compensated by providing a third photographer. Her counterpart, Rachel, and the third photographer were a joy to work with as well, and got great photos of the groomsmen. Monica was professional, and kept us on schedule. She made sure to capture all the moments we wanted and captured every detail of the wedding. We are so glad we chose Monica for our wedding photographer and highly recommend!

Working with Monica has been an absolute dream! From the start until after the wedding Monica has been responsive, attentive, flexible and so eager to make our vision come true. I ...

had my engagement shoot and of course wedding photos taken by her and without a doubt was the best choice! She has an eye to spot the best moment and capture all the love and emotion going on in one beautiful shot. Beyond her fantastic work ethic she is just the sweetest and most charasmitc person to have around, always gets a smile out of everyone. All my wedding guest could not stop talking about how much they loved having her around. I cannot say enough good things, if you want your special day to be captured by the best then you need Monica!

the wedding photographer of our dreams! After meeting with her for our engagement session in Hoboken I knew we hit a home run choosing her! Throughout the entire process she outdid herself. Meeting with us at our venue to scope out spots, responding to emails & questions in what seemed like minutes, & just her genuine excitement for us as a couple during the entire process made us so at ease. She was a dream to work with & I HIGHLY recommend her. Thank you Monica! You are the best!

really wants to show the couples love through photos. Our engagement photos came out great and I cannot wait to see wedding photos. o know each other. She's Colombian just like me so that was a plus, that made me feel immediately more comfortable :) The quality of her work exceeded our expectations. She is very creative, she would take any props to create the perfect shot!. It's been 1.5 years since our wedding and every time I look at the photos it makes me think how lucky I was to find her. She captured every single moment of happiness in a candid way just how we wanted, and she even stayed for longer!. She's one of the reasons why we think our wedding was perfect! I highly recommend her, con los ojos cerrados :) Sorry it took me so long to write this review.

ul, exactly what we wanted. She is very organized and passionate about her field. We could tell that she would make our wedding experience special! And so far, that's exactly what she's done! We took our engagement photos with Monica in May and they came out absolutely beautiful, exceeding our expectations! Monica helped us choose the perfect location and was very flexible in scheduling the time. During our session, Monica was helpful and easy to work with, suggesting all of the right spots for us to stand to capture the best images. She really has a talent for finding spots where the light is perfect. She went above and beyond in making sure we were comfortable and satisfied with the session. And we definitely were! That day and those photos will always be an amazing memory for us! And to top it all off, in addition to sending us the digital shots of our photos, Monica sent us a package in the mail which included some of the photos framed and other adorable goodies. We were blown away! Our wedding is coming up in April 2017 and we can not wait to work with Monica on this day! We highly recommend!!!

Monica started off great and we were very excited to be using her. She was very responsive when we first started speaking but the moment we signed a contract with her (for $5,700) ...

she became less and less responsive. We had tried twice to plan our engagement photos with her (part of our package) - both times we had tried to confirm a time and location with her two days prior (after having taken off of work for one of the days) and 8 hours later we would receive an email letting us know that she had to cancel. At one point when we asked for more available dates she said she "only had 3 days in the year left" for this type of photoshoot and suggested that we search for another photographer and she'd be "totally OK" with that. Again - this is after having signed a contract with her for $5,700. The last time she canceled on us she had her daughter send us an email to call her and letting us know that she had some kind of tooth issue and that we should just "assume" that our photoshoot was canceled - again. We eventually were so fed up with how poorly she was handling her business that I emailed her asking to be released of the contract to which she immediately agreed to (after having taken days upon days to get back to any of our other emails) and that is the only reason I'm giving her more than one star. Though she did mention that we'd be getting a formal termination contract and we have still not received one. Super unprofessional and unreliable.

Monica is absolutely amazing! She really went above and beyond and we were thrilled with the beautiful engagement and wedding photos that she took for us. She is a true artist and ...

we really felt like she captured the joy of our wedding and our identity as a couple. In addition to being exceptionally talented, she is friendly and personable. She made us feel comfortable and taking photos with her was a lot of fun. We can't recommend her highly enough. She was very flexible in terms letting us choose the location of our engagement photos, even though it meant a bit of a drive for her. On the day of our wedding, she made sure to capture all the details and special moments of our wedding, from the rings and the dress to our kiss at the altar. Because of the photos Monica took, we will always have gorgeous reminders of this special time in our lives. Having a good wedding photographer was really important to us, so picking out the right vendor was nerve wracking. After just one meeting with Monica, I knew I could trust her to give us truly beautiful, romantic wedding photos.

k had the right "feel." My fiance and I met with Monica at a local coffee shop, and the thing that stood out to us most was Monica's enthusiasm for her work. To some vendors we would have been just another wedding, but Monica made us feel special. We had an engagement photo session with Monica, which I would definitely recommend to all couples - it definitely helped that we had already gotten to know Monica before the wedding day, and she also had a sense of our styles and the types of shots that we liked. We loved the photos we received from that session. On the day of the wedding, Monica was very prompt, arriving at our hotel room to get some getting ready shots before heading over to the venue. Throughout the entire wedding day, Monica was so great - we unfortunately had rain, but Monica, along with the second shooter Pam, was very creative and helped us to still capture the portraits that we wanted. As mentioned, we had hired a second shooter, through Monica. Pam was amazing as well, we were very happy to have her taking photos as well. Throughout the reception, Monica was always nearby and ready to take any shots I requested, while capturing candids of the reception. We haven't received our preview yet (expected 4 weeks after our wedding day) but at our request Monica was able to provide us with a few shots so that we could send out Christmas cards. From our very small preview, I'm very excited to see the full set!
