From the moment we walked in to the Monterey Country Club, we knew this would be the place we would be getting married. The staff is very friendly and our questions were always ans...
wered, I never had an issue getting a hold of someone which took a lot of weight off my shoulders. The day of our wedding everything ran smoothly, from the ceremony to reception, food was amazing and we always felt taken care of and our guest did as well. Will be using this venue again for future events.
We loved our December wedding at MCC!!! The venue is absolutely gorgeous and was just what we were looking for. Tessa and her staff were amazing and ensured we were stress free. Ou...
r guests raved about the food and bar. Overall it was a great experience working with MCC.
Let’s juat say my experience with the club did NOT end on a good note.
The only reason it gets two stars is because of how beautiful the venue is, and food.
First off, booked the...
venue a year ago with their event coordinator Lisa, everything was good. Easy to book, efficient with contracts, etc. But then, 4 months before my wedding, Lisa is gone. The head chef is gone, everyone i had been in contact with about my wedding were no longer working for the club.
The GM calls me, to let be know someone new would be taking over, Tessa from the accounting department. Ok, we’ll i was pretty easy going planning my wedding, so i had faith everything would be ok, i was wrong.
Day of the wedding, she totally blew it.
She didn’t show up to the venue until 3:30pm, i was walking down the aisle at 3:50pm.
She was busy trying to find more chairs because earlier that day she had called to rent be there were only 140 chairs to seat my 152 guests, even though we went over all of the numbers at the rehearsal the night before.
And we find this out by her calling me at 2:30pm, when she was supposed to be there at 2:00pm, and telling me i was WRONG, with my numbers, and on my contract it stated only 139 people. I’m sorry, but you do not call the bride on her wedding day, and argue with her about the count on contracts, which i was not wrong about by the way.
I then proceeded to find the contract on my phone, screenshot it, circle the correct number and send it to her. She forgot the kids she had the number separated.
This is also on top of not helping with the ceremony beginning, ordering the wrong number of table cloths, oh and leaving as soon as dinner was served. Which was the plan from the beginning, but i thought she might stay longer since she was late, but guess that’s too much to ask.
All in all, absolutely beautiful venue, surprisingly good food, but now i know why they do not have many weddings there.
DONT BOOK THIS PLACE, UNLESS YOU HIRE AND OUTSIDE COORDINATOR.
We should have known we were going to have problems with this venue the year prior to our wedding when every time we tried to get ahold of the food and beverage director in "charge...
" of our wedding, we had to basically chase him: call and email several times prior to getting a response (not the best of feelings with wedding planning). This venue is extremely unreliable and unprofessional. They rushed us out at the end of the night by throwing full plates of food away (we hired a taco guy for the end of the night and guests were not done eating), trashing everything from the tables including party favors (they didn't even give us a chance to look through them.) The worst part of it is we had so many things missing from jewelry, to a camera, to several hundreds of dollars in cash that our guests gave us as gifts at the gift table (in card and envelopes of course). When we attempted to inform them of this the food and beverage director suggested members of my bridal party were to blame as they were "in and out of the rooms". They had to be due to the fact that the bride was locked out of one of the changing rooms with all our stuff in there at the end of the night so we asked our bridal party to move our things for us. We called every time we heard something else was missing and eventually they stopped returning our calls. The best part of the wedding was the banquet captain who had to leave as her shift was over, and everything went downhill from there. I'm extremely disappointed in their professionalism. We didn't even receive an apology from them, nor did they validate our frustrations. What is most upsetting is our guests had things missing too which is an embarrassment when its your wedding. I would not do business with this vendor while they're under their current supervision (other than the banquet captain). Yes, its affordable at the price of disappointment.
The location is gorgeous and it is more affordable when compared to resort. However, the event coordinator was careless from the very beginning. During meeting, the wedding coordin...
ator was always unprepared and did not know what she could offer and would say it was not doing when I had been told it could be done. Once we would tell her we were told it could be done, she said it could be done. I made two trips for our tasting, sent her a picture of our selections twice and the day of the wedding she still served different sides than what we selected (when had sent her a picture). For our desert table, she did not put them on raisers as she said she would and left them in plastic containers instead of the cake stands we had provided. The bar tender was asking for tips (it was open bar) and served alcohol not included in our package without asking guests what alcohol they preferred and then charging them. He was also carding people for sodas. The tables were not set as instructed to the wedding coordinator but according to someone else's taste.
Children's dinners were served incomplete until a guest asked for the sides
My wedding at Monterey Country Club could not have been better. From the start with their planner and coordinator to all the details the day of. They have a
couple of packages ...
to choose from. I felt the price and
value were more than woth it. I got married out side on the golf course by a small lake, then while we took picuture they escorted out guests to a small bar area where they were treated to several different appetizers and a free bar for one hour. Then once again escorted to the room where the rest of the evening would take place. The food that was served was out of this world and plenty of it. They even let me do a combo plate with half chicken and half steak so I would not have to keep track of what each person wanted. The planner had me bring all my decorations the night before and when I got there the next day she had set up everything for me. Even added a few great touches of her own. Can not go wrong with having your wedding at Monterey Country Club.
