When we first got engaged, I did some casual venue searching. I had an idea in mind - something rustic, with an unobstructed, picturesque view of the mountains. My husband and I ar...e both from flat areas, so I knew I wanted a very "Virginia" vibe as the backdrop to our wedding as a homage to the state where we met and fell in love. Within minutes, I came across Montfair. I instantly knew from the little thumbnail image that popped up in the search results that this was the venue for us. As I clicked and scrolled through more pictures, reviews, and package pricing, I became more convinced. However, I thought for sure since it was my dream venue, it must be the dream venue for many others, and was hesitant to reach out in case I received disappointing news that they were fully booked. After touring alternatives and not finding a good fit, I re-searched Montfair and decided to submit an inquiry through their website. Victoria reached out to us within 48 hours with the good news that there were still some dates available in our time frame, so we got to work scheduling a viewing. From the get-go, Victoria was very flexible and pleasant to work with, and she was able to work around me and my husband's crazy work schedules to find a time that worked for us all. At the viewing, Victoria took time to review some paperwork with us and answer questions, and followed up with us 2 business days after our visit to thank us for visiting . When we decided to sign on, there were some technical difficulties with getting the e-contract to us that caused us to technically not sign within the time frame they held the dates for us, but the Montfair team was very understanding and quick to find a solution so we were still able to sign and get our ideal date. We initially signed for a one day (Saturday) wedding since there were already events the day before and after planned, but when the event on Friday cancelled, Montfair reached out to us to see if we'd be interested in reserving that day. We reserved Friday as well and are so glad we did. We got to enjoy the venue for one more day by having our rehearsal dinner there and having the wedding party and family spend the night before the wedding on-site, so that we were all together and ready to prepare the morning of the main event. The guests all loved their accommodations, with one of my bridesmaids booking her next visit as soon as we arrived. The Beauchamp House was the perfect "getting ready" venue, with lots of natural lighting and space. The on-site staff who was present for our wedding, Ayla, was a welcome presence, as she made sure we were all comfortable and answered any questions the guests had during their stay. All in all, Montfair was one of the best choices we made for our wedding. From planning to breaking down, the staff was willing to work to get us the best experience possible (and didn't even bat an eye when 2 of our guests fell in the lake and got a canoe stuck). I got the mountain pictures and rustic lodge feel I wanted, and the guests enjoyed their cabins and the activities available to them. We used the inside of the lodge for our reception dinner and the covered deck as our cocktail area and dance floor, but the space can be set up however the couple wants and function well. I can't wait to return here to celebrate our anniversary next year (as a bonus, couples who are married here get a discount when they book a cabin stay). I can't imagine if we had our wedding anywhere else.
