Moonlight Pines Wedding Venue and Christmas Tree Farm in Hanceville, AL, is the culmination of something my husband and I have been working towards for nearly 20 years. When we got married, we were not able to afford a beautiful venue, and we've always dreamed of building this place to be finished at the level of venues that come in at a much higher price point, while remaining affordable when compared to facilities of the same caliber.
Phase one was getting our building constructed. Moonlight Pines is 5000 sq ft, with a 3500 square foot main room, vaulted ceilings, rustic beams, and wall boards that were reclaimed from a cotton gin that was built in the 1850s. There is nothing artificial about the patina in the main room; it's 170 years of wear and tear that we painstakingly installed to give a genuine rustic aesthetic.
The right wing of the building has our dedicated groom's suite, complete with an electric fireplace and a large TV, and it's wrapped in the interior portion of the same cotton gin beams used in the main room. There is also a well-lit prep kitchen, as well as dedicated men's and women's restrooms, which are both ADA accessible. The left side is where the front porch and dedicated bridal suite are located.
The bride's suite is clad with V-groove wall board, giving a classic rustic look. It is outfitted with an en-suite bathroom, a changing room for the bride's party, and a hair & make-up station. Both the bridal and groom suites have direct access to the parking lot without having to enter the main hall.
The exterior of the building is wrapped with customizable RGB lights. So whether you want a bright white look, a vintage vibe, or you want to wash the entire building with your wedding colors, we can do anything you can dream up. We can match the palette of your wedding, the holiday season, and we can even customize schemes so that you can change the look for the ceremony/cocktail hour/reception. The extent to which you can really make the building your own is almost limitless.
Phase two for Moonlight Pines will start in 2027 when we begin planting our Christmas Tree Farm. We're going to have the "couples grove", where we will plant a tree for each couple, and they can come back to cut their Christmas tree whenever they're ready. If you want it at 6ft for your 5th anniversary, or let it grow until your 10th anniversary and have a massive showstopper tree, it's up to you. We will also have a retail section of the farm for families to come and select their Christmas trees. Our vision is that years from now, couples can get married at the farm where they remember picking their tree out as a child. We would love to host craft fairs, do a free trunk or treat for kids at Halloween, and provide other events that will be a benefit to our local community. We are truly trying to build a place that will integrate into our community and into people's lives for years to come.
