We loved this venue! The only reasons it is not receiving 5 stars is because our ceremony started late because the electricity outlet we were supposed to use did not work, and the caretaker was aware of this issue when we first arrived, and never attempted to solve the issue. We were also super excited to relax in the hot tub on during our stay and when we went to use it there was not water in it. We immediatley contacted the caretaker and he said "it is currently out of order". It would have been nice to know about this since we still paid the full cost and had no electricity to our ceremony site and no hot tub. Overall though this venue was fantastic and helped create some fantastic photos.
I can not say enough good things about our experience at Moran Estates. Never in my most indulgent wedding fantasy did I dream that I would get married in a place so beautiful, serene, and magical. The gardens, the ponds, the fields, the views, the stonework, the house -- everything was so, so gorgeous. But what really sold us on Moran Estates was it's size and flexibility: When my husband and I were discussing our priorities in a venue, we knew we wanted it to sleep lots of guests -- the worst part about weddings is coordinating sober rides or having to leave just when things start to get fun. The main house was large enough to accommodate our wedding party, and we all felt pampered and fancy -- between the two hot tubs, the sauna, the views, the patio, the little stone cottage -- it felt very special, and we didn't feel crowded at all. But the big draw were the large fields surrounding the grounds, which meant that our hard-partying friends could set up tents and camp -- and many of them did, so we could party well into the late night/early morning! When we got up the next day, everyone who stayed over took turns leaping into one of the ponds from the jumping rocks above the shore. What! Our guests were absolutely blown away by this place -- there are so many little hidden, beautiful spaces -- we could've had our ceremony/reception in a number of places. The versatility of the space meant didn't have a limit on guest count, and if we wanted to go smaller we could've easily found a spot on site to make things feel even more intimate. We chose the open field with a mountain view, allowing our guests to simply walk up to the reception area -- no coordinating rides necessary! We snapped pictures under our ceremony trellis, along the rock wall by the (other) pond, in front of the most picturesque stone cottage I have ever laid my eyes on, and with the many colorful gardenscapes. We didn't really need much additional accouterments in terms of decor, as the venue itself is so beautiful. The owners, Trevor and Todd, were so caring in making sure our experience felt special. When we arrived at the house the day before the wedding, we found a lovely handwritten note from them, along with a box of L.A. Burdick chocolate (a local destination, and honestly the best chocolate I've ever had). Knowing that the property was so meticulously maintaining by their late parents, whose own love story adds a special legacy to the site, made it all the more meaningful. The site coordinator, Jennifer, worked with us every step of the way to make sure all the details were covered. She helped us source and coordinate with all our vendors to make sure everything ran smoothly, and was there the next day to oversee cleanup & breakdown. She had a great eye for making things look right, but also making sure things went as planned and everyone felt comfortable and un-stressed. My husband and I truly cannot thank Trevor, Todd, and Jennifer enough for all they did to give us such a beautiful, meaningful day.
