Morfey's Cake

Morfey’s cake was absolutely amazing and Erin was such a pleasure to work with. We wanted custom flavors for our wedding cake, and most bakers either didn’t allow custom, or only allowed custom with a significant up-charge, but that was not the case with Morfey’s. For no additional cost whatsoever (on top of the base price being very affordable) we selected two different flavor cakes, each with two custom fillings. We had chocolate cake with chambord raspberry buttercream and chocolate mousse as well as coconut cake with chocolate ganache and amaretto almond cream (which we called “almondjoy.”) We also got to have a complimentary exclusive tasting at the shop before even booking them and their cake was light and airy. Then once we had selected our custom flavors, we were offered an additional tasting to make sure we were happy with how our flavors turned out. Also, unlike many bakers who have a per serving decoration fee for each type of decoration, most decoration is included in the original price unless something significant like hand sculpted flowers is desired. Absolutely incredible deal, service, and product at an unbeatable price.

We loved working with Erin! She was very cheerful and responsive, and gave us lots of fun ideas for flavors that weren't part of their basic package. We had one presentation cake and two sheet cakes, which was plenty for our guests and provided them with flavor options. Our flavors were orange and white chocolate, chocolate and salted Nutella, and champagne with raspberry. All were delicious, although I liked the champagne best!

Erin at Morfey’s is an artist and extremely talented baker. Our wedding cake was divinely delicious, a huge hit, and more beautiful than I imagined. The shop even gave me a courtesy call to remind me to pick up the cake which was very helpful with everything else going on that day! The cake was also reasonably priced and well worth every penny. Erin also offered us a cake-for-two with the same flavors for our one year anniversary and said it would only be $10! Forget frozen wedding cake - we enjoyed the leftovers the day after our wedding and will enjoy a freshly baked cake in a year!!!

Morfey’s cakes did an amazing job for my cupcake tower and mini-cake on our wedding. The cupcakes and cake were absolutely delicious, turned out exactly as I could imagine, and delivery/set-up was a breeze with Morfey’s. All my guests enjoyed the cupcakes and I received positive reviews – not to mention not a lot leftover to bring home! I would recommend Morfey’s cakes for your next event or wedding!

Hands down the best wedding cake I have EVER had! I did a simple white cake with buttercream frosting as it was a part of my wedding I wanted to be traditional and Erin rocked it. The cake was gorgeous and tasted even better! Looking forward to ordering other life event cakes with Morfey's!

The cake was gorgeous and was absolutely delicious. I loved working with Erin and the whole team, I didn't have a bad encounter with them. The contract process is fairly loosey-goosey, so I had to call to confirm on final amounts a few times. However, the final product was SO worth it. I am not exaggerating- this is the best cake I have ever had.

We were looking for a bakery for our wedding that did both regular cakes and also had a gluten free option. Believe it or not, it was difficult finding a bakery that did both for weddings! When we found Morfey's (who does both!) we made an appointment for some cake tasting. They presented us with 5 different popular flavors, which we picked our favorite on the spot. We didn't need to go elsewhere as their cakes are absolutely delicious! Next came to pick the design. We opted for a three tiered cake and a dozen gluten-free cupcakes. I had emailed a picture of what we wanted the cake to look like and they nailed it! The cake was perfect - Morfey's even worked with our florist to set aside some flowers to add to the cake. Our guests were commenting on how delicious the cake was. We definitely recommend Morfey's for wedding cakes!

Our wedding cake was from Morphy's yrs ago and I remember it today by popping in for a cupcake or two.So delicious! Charming baker,easy to find,even on the bus!

Our cake was beautiful and delicious, and Erin was great to work with. I especially appreciated Morfey's upfront attitude about buying a small layer cake and several (much less expensive) sheet cakes. Other bakers we met with acted like we were cheap jerks for wanting to do that, while Erin suggested it upfront as a way to save money AND offer variety. The cake looked exactly like we wanted it to and tasted even better. We got a lot of compliments on it and I think ours was the only wedding I've heard of where the cake was gone at the end, and what better compliment is there than that?

When we where trying to plan a cake to feed over 100 people it felt like a nightmare at first, that is until we met and talked with the amazing people at Morfey's! Not only did they help us plan out our flavors, but they suggested options to cut our costs down (like having a small show cake for pictures then matching sheet cakes we feed our guests!) Amazing experience!

The cake was very pretty, but seemed a tad pricey. Only somewhat helpful with figuring out how to cut costs. But the cake was quite tasty. I highly recommend pink champagne flavor.

Our cake was beautiful (we did a winter wedding) and Morfey's made it just how we wanted it. They have so many flavors to choose from and are happy to combine any flavors and fillings for you. We had two flavors and our guests loved both. The champagne cake is definitely our favorite!

My in-laws got the cake for the rehearsal dinner from this bakery. It was the best cake ever! I wish we had used them for the wedding.

We decided to do a dessert bar at our wedding, but we still wanted a small cake to cut. We researched cake shops online and liked the designs and prices of Morfey’s. Plus they were open on Mondays and willing to deliver our cake to our venue on New Year’s Eve for no additional fee. During our tasting they listened to our ideas and then showed us pictures of what they could do. Our cake turned out better than expected, it was absolutely beautiful and it tasted great too!

My cake was delicious and was very pretty. It did not look the way it was described to me though at my tasting and was smaller than I had visioned, but I was very happy with it. I was not super impressed with the customer serice, but in the end the cake was on time and made for some great pictures!

I can't say enough about the stunning, delicious wedding cake from Morfey's. I had been to the wedding show at Seattle Center a couple of years ago with a friend, and remembered returning to the Morfey's display to taste their "pink champagne" samples. So you bet that's what I ordered for my son and his bride. The design was beautiful and up-to-date, the delivery was on time, and the quality was superb. Lisa and her staff did everything flawlessly!

The cake tasted delicious and was beautiful. It showed up on time and in beautiful condition. Some of the best lemon flavored cake I've ever had. I've had some bad wedding cake from several weddings, but this was wondering

Everyone loved our wedding cake. We worked with the cake shop to design our own flavor - coconut cake (without flakes) with pineapple & cream cheese filling. Guests were crowded around the cake table eating piece after piece. They were wonderful to work with!!

If I could give zero stars to this establishment I would. As a bride who’s wedding is about a month away I have been reduced to finding another cake baker for my wedding due to the lack of respect and unprofessionalism from Morfey’s Cakes. I booked Morfey’s Cakes for my wedding 6 months ago, as a well organized bride who likes to keep things organized and on time this was great. Little did I know that booking them was the biggest mistake, I should have known during my cake tasting that something was going to be wrong. Now when you are a bride and you are out shopping for your vendors usually they show enthusiasm towards the bride and her special day correct? Not so much with Bernadette, she never really acknowledge me in such a way. I’m not saying I needed to be put on a pedestal but having a little enthusiasm or making the cake tasting a fun experience is usually what most brides look forward to but with Bernadette it seemed like she was bored or that I was asking to many questions. During this 6 month period I have tried calling them several times at first in the beginning to ask a few questions about the materials that I had to buy myself for the cake. Yes I had to buy and make my own materials to decorate the cake the way I wanted it because they would have charged me a ridiculous amount of money for doing something that would be simple to them. My calls would always go unanswered either they would not answer their phone so I would have to leave messages after messages or if I finally did get a hold of someone they would tell me Bernadette was not there and they would leave a message for her to call me back. The last straw I had with them was the most recent one, where the other lady that worked there answered the phone one day and said she was really busy, I asked her I just needed to know the measurements of how much material I needed for the cake. And since Bernadette was not returning my calls and we are about a month away from the wedding I would like to have that stuff done soon. The lady told me I am way to busy to go look at your paper work for you maybe in an hour I’ll call you back but she never did or Bernadette either. In fact I called back the next day and was hung up on. Again I left messages but again no one returned my phone calls. What irks me to my core is that I had to go and find another cake baker at this very last minute when originally I was ahead of the game. So I walked into Morfeys cake shop to cancel my order with them and guess who was there… Bernadette just standing around the shop! When I told her I was cancelling my order, Bernadette didn’t even flinch she just said ok and walked away from me. She didn’t ask why or apologies during the whole ordeal. So I asked her why didn’t anyone call me back ever? And her response was “oh well we have been so busy this past 2 weeks” hello!! You couldn’t have picked up a phone at all during these past weeks? And what about all the other times as well, you’ve been so busy those times as well?! What kind of business do you run where you ignore your customers and don’t return their phone calls especially when it’s a month away from their wedding and its only to get information they need to supply you the vendor the stuff they need to make your cake. Oh and she murmured underneath her breath that she knows how to run a business… well if ignoring your customers and not returning their phone calls is what makes a successful business then I guess you

I ordered over the phone a Nintendo controller red velvet cake and it turned out great!!

We went to morfey's cakes because a couple people recommended it. We had a specific budget and they worked with us. We ended up getting two different flavors of cake, everyone loved it! I will come back again to get cakes for any occasion. They are very helpful and flexible and the cakes are delicious!!

I love that they are so humble and unassuming. We loved our champagne cake. We received many compliments on the cake. We ordered a fairly small one since we also had a dessert buffet. They did an excellent job setting up. Great testing

I was sure I was going to get Costco sheet cakes and call it good, but as the wedding got closer, I realized what an important part the cake is. So I met with Lisa about 3 weeks before our wedding and her staff created a wonderful 2 tiered cake that matched exactly my design idea, with sheet cakes in the kitchen. People raved about the cake - particularly the vanilla cake with Morfey's special champagne flavored mousse. Highly recommended.

What a beautiful Cake... Way too expensive though

The first reason why we decided to check out Morfey's was because my parents got their wedding cake from them. We went to a lot of tastings and nothing was as moist as Morfey's. I marked them down a bit because after calling me three times, after just finalizing and ordering the cake, to confirm my design which was super simple, it arrived and wasn't correct. I am not that picky and didn't notice until I looked at the pictures. The tier I requested three times to be a swiss dot design was just polka dots. It made me a bit sad since my wedding was vintage inspired and I loved the swiss dot design. Other than that everything was great.

The cake was a red velvet cake with some subtle but intricate details on the outside and wonderful flavor. We had a second cake made because of how many people were going to be at our wedding and consideration of people who don't like red velvet cake. Beautiful deep red coloring and wonderful moist flavors made for a delicious cake that everyone loved!

Our cake was not only elegant, but absolutely DELICIOUS! We worked with Bernadette to create delicious flavor combinations for our 4 tiered cake. I purposefully order more servings that we needed, to allow for "seconds" and I heard from many guests that they had "thirds" too! At the end of the night, there was not a crumb left. Morfey's did a fantastic job -- the cake was full of flavor, and super moist and delicious. I can't say enough about our cake, and look forwad to the anniversay cake we will undoubtedly purchase next year (and every year after!)

Our cake was everything we hoped for. Very reasonably priced and incredibly delicious! I highly suggest the pink champagne and the vanilla with raspberry filling.

Morfey's is a cute little cake shop in Seattle. During our consultation, we were able to discuss exactly what we wanted, in size and presentation, and taste many of their delicious cake and filling flavors. Our wedding cake was beautiful, delicious, and delivered on time. A little pricey, but worth the splurge.

I was very happy with my cake from Morfey's (4 layer, hexagon shape, beige icing with swedish dots, and ribbon around the layer bases). It turned out very classy looking and was exactly what I asked for. The best part, though, was that the cake was sooooo good! When I think of wedding cakes I always think there is a trade off between a good looking cake and taste, but they mastered both! I was also really happy we didn't have to freeze any cake because they offer a discounted anniversary cake. I would definitely recommend this place.

Morfey's is one of the oldest established bakeries in Seattle, and we liked that sense of history! The cake was spectacular, and it was so easy to work with the baker, who was so professional and made the whole process easy and stress-free.

Cake was beautiful and tasted great! Got many comments from guests about how wonderful the cake was and they worked with my florist easily for the floral decorations.

I wanted to incorporate Japanese design. So they made nice clean cake that I could put some Origami. It worked out great. It tasted great too.

Tasted very very good. Perfect ratio of frosting to cake. It was also decorated perfectly.;Finding parking near Morphey's can be difficult.

The person at the shop was very friendly. We got to flavor a sample of some of the cakes and look at the different designs to help us decide what we wanted. He was very helpful in giving us tips to help us in our decisions.;The only bad thing is there is one person at the shop so it took awhile to put in our order.

Bill is a great man to work with! He is fun and understands the importance of the details and timeliness of weddings!
