As a wedding planner I have worked with a lot of florists, but I’ve never had as bad of an experience as I had with Mother Maria Flower Co. To start, her communication was horrible...
. She took months to respond to emails and texts. Her reasoning was that this is her side hustle. She then agreed to moving florals to the reception space from the ceremony. This was requested by the bride and is done often at weddings. On the wedding day she snuck out without moving the florals, then denied ever agreeing to do so, even when I provided screenshots of our prior communications where she agreed to do it. This expectation was made abundantly clear on multiple occasions and she agreed to it! On top of all that, the florals were bad. The ceremony florals were messy and uneven. The bouquets had chicken wire holding them together, with sharp wires poking out. Multiple bridesmaids and the bride herself commented on them being difficult to hold. The bride was incredibly displeased with her from start to finish and she caused unnecessary stress in the planning process. Four days before the wedding she posted to her Instagram asking for a freelancer to help at the wedding and the bride saw this. That’s not very reassuring for the bride to see. I would never recommend her.
