Back in time 1987 to 1991 or so, I was in charge of the Maurtania while it was birthed at Shore Line Village in Long Beach CA.

tain of this vessel. Blue water chartering company was our main supplier of chartering quest.
We did weddings, funerals, corporate business events. Most were 4 hour cruises in the bay or near offshore. Often we had 2night visits to Catalina.
MTV did rock videos, Hollywood came on board to shoot TV shows commercials and movies. I met many celebrities and they Often said that I had a great job.
The atmosphere was always pleasant.
The Maurtania was a classy and elegant vessel that many quest enjoyed. I also had the pleasure to be employed by Jack Boyt ,the owner. He is a former Marine officer and a academy grad. Tough as nails but honored hard work
and professionalism. Thank you Jack for the opportunity. Eventually I became as officer of the Military Sealift Command, Pacific region. Go figure!?
If you have the need or opportunity I would recommend this vessel for it class and style.
