Motown Throwdown is a powerhouse soul band based in Charleston, SC, that will bring energetic live music to your wedding. We want to get to know our couples and hear about your vision for what will inevitably be the greatest night of your lives. We'll work closely with you to learn about the music you love and what you expect from this special day. We'll dream with you and help you manifest this dream into a truly unforgettable experience for you and all of the most important people in your lives. We LOVE great music and great entertainment and believe that it is the centerpiece to the most special and unique of shared experiences, ones that you and your family will talk about for decades to come. OH, and did I mention we like to dance? Our main goal is to keep people on the dance floor!! We are (excuse my French) hell-bent on reading the crowd in real-time and responding to their energy, sometimes even blurring the line between the performer and audience. We want everyone to feel like they are part of something truly special. No two performances are the same - we don't just plow ahead with a pre-prescribed set list; our performances are exciting and interactive. More than anything else, we are excited to be onstage doing the thing we love the most! We offer band sizes ranging from 5-15+ pieces and can provide a wide range of additional services, including ceremony music, cocktail hour, auxiliary PA setups, and full production, including staging, sound, and lighting. The sky is the limit in terms of production! Our basic PA and lighting packages are included automatically in our base pricing. Our network extends far and wide, and we have the resources to make just about any musical dream of yours come to life.
