OH, and did I mention we like to dance? Our main goal is to keep people on the dance floor!! We are (excuse my French) hell-bent on reading the crowd in real-time and responding to their energy, sometimes even blurring the line between the performer and audience. We want everyone to feel like they are part of something truly special. No two performances are the same - we don't just plow ahead with a pre-prescribed set list; our performances are exciting and interactive. More than anything else, we are excited to be onstage doing the thing we love the most!
We offer band sizes ranging from 5-15+ pieces and can provide a wide range of additional services, including ceremony music, cocktail hour, auxiliary PA setups, and full production, including staging, sound, and lighting. The sky is the limit in terms of production! Our basic PA and lighting packages are included automatically in our base pricing. Our network extends far and wide, and we have the resources to make just about any musical dream of yours come to life. If you'd like input, we are happy to dream with you and guide you in a direction that we think would be home run!

Motown Throwdown absolutely exceeded our expectations on our wedding night. They read the crowd and played the MOST fun music. They really took our interests and personality into c...
onsideration when coming up with the set list. The dance floor was constantly occupied!! Wouldn’t think of using anyone else.
If I could give Motown Throwdown more than 5 stars for being the best band for our wedding, I absolutely would! I could not have dreamed of a more perfect match for the type of par...
ty we were trying to throw. Going into our wedding, the most important thing to us was having a live band that people would love dancing and singing to, and they were that and more. They are true rock stars! The vocals of the lead singer were insane, the instrumental solos made it feel like you were seeing some of your favorite classic bands playing in real time, and the energy they brought was unmatched. I had so many guests telling me it was the best wedding band they've seen, and I couldn't agree more. There were times people stopped dancing because they were so entranced by the talent on the stage, and at the end of each song, the crowd enthusiastically applauded like they were at a live concert. They were great when it came to song selection and modifying our first dance songs (because we don't have the skills to dance for very long). It also felt like they were sincerely just as happy to be sharing in our joy, and I gave them huge hugs of gratitude. Book them for your special event!!
As a musician myself, I’ve played enough gigs to know what separates a good band from a truly exceptional one, and Motown Throwdown is in a league of their own. They performed at my...
wife and I’s wedding, and I can say with absolute certainty that finding a better band within 250 miles would have been near impossible.
Our guests still talk about that night and "how good the music was". Their song choices was spot on for young and old to have fun, the band was on FIRE, my wife could not stop dancing and had the time of her life (which was the goal).
Michael who produces the band was incredibly professional and communicative with us throughout the whole process leading up to the big day. He knew exactly which questions to ask so that the band could tailor what they do to our wedding, and the day of logistics went perfectly thanks to that.
All in all, I can't recommend Motown Throwdown enough, they made the best day of our life the best party of our life!
