Mount Hope Farm is an absolutely stunning venue in a gorgeous location. Right on the water in Bristol, RI, the views of the water and the Mount Hope Bridge are spectacular. Our cer...
emony space was everything we ever dreamed, right in nature on the water. We were at MHF's Cove Cabin event space, and the cabin added such great charm and was a great place to retreat to when we needed a private moment. It was also a gorgeous tent to have our wedding in, and it looked amazing.
We loved almost everything about having our wedding here - they partner with Russell Morin Catering, who were an amazing team to have behind our day. The food was excellent, the the coordination support they provided was beyond compare. MHF has really picked a winner for a partner there.
The only downside I will say this venue has is the timing restrictions before your event. We were only allowed on site one hour before our ceremony at 5pm, meaning we really only had 30 minutes to take photos before guests arrived (many early birds in our guest pool). Because of this, we had to take family photos and wedding party photos elsewhere, when we really wanted all the photos at the venue. It's a shame they have this timing restriction and I hope they reconsider it for future events.
Mount Hope Farm is marketed as a beautiful, historic place for weddings and events. But I imagine that most folx prefer to have the full truth in front of them when making choices ...
in how and where to celebrate.
What’s presented here is a curated version of history. The Farm sits on sacred Pokanoket/Wampanoag land, taken through extreme violence during the bloody King Philip’s War. Claiming, owning and passing down this land came at the near destruction of Indigenous life here.
The Royall family built and expanded immense wealth by owning, buying and exploiting Black and Indigenous people as property. Human lives were priced in Rum and we were the Rum hub of the world. The labor of enslaved people built and sustained the estate here at Mount Hope, helping fuel the Royalls’ rise into one of the largest slaveholding families in the North. They tie the land to farming and “heritage”but it is more accurate to refer to it as a system that depended on violence, control and the reducing of people to assets in order to create and preserve white wealth.
In 1730, an estate inventory connected to this land lists enslaved people with no names… nine men, one boy, six women, five children, and two infants, valued together at £1,355, nearly a quarter of the entire estate. In later accountings, the Enslaved are named only in fragments: Mingo, Hector, Anthony, Cesar, Fortune, Betty, Diana, Nanny, Philice. Their lives reduced to entries, their bodies and labor treated as assets.
Records show repeated medical visits to enslaved people at the “Mount Estate,” evidence not of care, but of preserving labor. Death records remain (Antonio, Mingo, Fortune, Bette… documented only at the end of their lives. A “Negro child” recorded without a name. Even marriage… Cesar and Jennie, exists in record, but within a system that never recognized their freedom.
This is the foundation of this land. And yet, what’s presented centers beauty, heritage and celebration without holding the violence, forced labor and displacement that made it possible. There is still no mention of these important people who made this place possible, on the premise.
This land should be a place of truth, memory, and accountability. Not one where the hardest parts are minimized so the rest can be enjoyed without interruption.
There is almost zero clear, visible acknowledgment of reality. The farm experience today, uplifts enslavers and “heritage” while erasing the violence, displacement and exploitation. The venue and the town have not reckoned the past and offer a curated version of history that protects comfort over truth.
If you’re considering this venue, understand that you’re stepping onto land with a much deeper and darker history than what’s presented. Ask yourself if it’s acceptable to profit from fantasy passed off and promoted as history.
Maybe you believe people should stop making money off of the work of Enslaved People and that it’s time to retire holding nostalgia for lifestyles that depend on hierarchy and imperiousness. It’s long past time for Mount Hope Farm to remove the gossamer and reveal that this land is anything but romantic and far from swoon-worthy.
My husband and I were married at The Barn on 9/13/25. From the moment we toured the venue, we knew it was the perfect place for us. Throughout the planning process, we had several ...
points of contact (Christina, Kimberly, Wailynn, and Katherine), and every single one of them was responsive, knowledgeable, and caring.
Our day of coordinator was Katherine, and she was truly incredible. She went above and beyond to make our wedding everything we had dreamed of. She was welcoming, organized, and it was clear she cared as much about our day being perfect as we did.
We also had a newlywed attendant, Emma, who was the sweetest and most thoughtful person. She constantly checked in with us, brought us appetizers during cocktail hour, and made sure we had everything we needed throughout the night.
We are so grateful for the entire MHF/RMC team. Their support made our wedding day and the planning process completely stress-free and truly unforgettable. Thank you again to Christina, Kimberly, Wailynn, Katherine, and Emma!

th our guests. On top of all of that, all of the staff at Mount Hope Farm are lovely and helpful. We cannot recommend this venue enough for your wedding or other special events.

ns. We had our ceremony in the garden and our reception in the barn and we couldn't have been happier with the venue. We had a great time finding cool spots to take photos outside and were so happy with how everything turned out. Russell Morin Catering (MHF's exclusive caterer) was outstanding and we received so many compliments from our guests on how great the food was! We had a wonderful experience with Mount Hope Farm and would definitely recommend them!
We could not have asked for a more beautiful venue than Cove Cabin. This location is so special and unique and was exactly what I wanted going into the wedding planning process. I ...
loved driving over the Mount Hope Bridge and being able to see the tent sitting right next to the water. The views from the venue are spectacular. Our guests absolutely loved it and are still talking about it months later. In the week leading up to the event, we were expecting a hurricane and the team at Mount Hope made us feel very confident in the rain plan options and that our day would be perfect regardless of the weather. Although we were not able to arrive at the venue early enough to do our first look photos, they were kind enough to offer the beautiful garden near the barn which was a great place for photos as well.
The staff at Russell Morin was nothing short of exceptional for our wedding at Mount Hope Farm. Throughout the planning process, Christina was very timely with answering questions,...
giving us feedback, and coordinating with our vendors to make sure our vision came together. The day of the wedding we were graciously waited on hand and foot all night long by our own personal staff member, who was there at the drop of a napkin to replace our drinks, take our food, or get us anything we needed. They were extremely attentive to not only us, but also our closest family members, which was very much appreciated. The food was above and beyond our expectations, from the passed apps to the entrees and our guests cannot stop raving about how good it was. The Cove Cabin venue was everything we could have ever hoped for when we began visualizing our wedding day, and we’re so happy with how it turned out!
Book this venue! We had a little over 200 guests and Cove Cabin / tent fit all of us, comfortably. After booking with Mt. Hope, you are assigned a Russell Morrin coordinator that f...
acilitates every step along the way - shoutout to Christina! They make the entire process simple, organized and most importantly, fun. This venue is exclusive to RM Catering which is where the majority of your cost will go, but it is absolutely worth it. They are attentive, professional and efficient. Having our wedding at Cove Cabin was the best decision we made. The best night of our lives and we highly recommend!
We absolutely loved having our wedding at Mount Hope Farm this past weekend! The venue easily fit out 165 person wedding. The staff were all extremely responsive and organized. The...
re was never a line in the bar. The staff went above and beyond to make sure our guests were taken care of and the event flowed smoothly. Our planner Christina was always timely responding to us, answering all of our questions and helping to make sure our day was everything we wanted it to be. The venue itself could not be more beautiful with an amazing breeze by the water even on the hottest day. We could not recommend this venue more! All of our guests raved!
I cannot say enough good things about this venue and everyone at Russell Morin. We got married in June and they made all of our dreams come true. From start to finish, Christina wa...
s there to hold our hands and make sure we were on track with all the planning deadlines. They were always available to answer any and all questions, and made the process so enjoyable. All of our guests told us that it was not only the best wedding, but the best event they'd ever been to in their lives. Everyone was raving about the beautiful views, the food, the service, and all the details in between. I truly could not have imagined a more perfect venue for our wedding day. They made us feel so special and we are forever grateful to them! If you are thinking about it, please book with them - it is so worth it.

g our special day at this beautiful location. The venue is right on the water with amazing views, beautiful landscaping, and the perfect outdoor layout to enjoy the ceremony/cocktail hour. The reception takes place under a tent that is basically a blank canvas where you select every detail to create the perfect setting. You are able to choose everything from the chairs, silverware, decorations, and even the layout. This does involve more planning than some venues where everything is provided , but we like the fact that every aspect of the wedding was hand picked.
The staff at Mount Hope Farm were all incredible and helped us throughout the entire planning process. On the day of our wedding they helped everything run seamlessly and their professionalism in every aspect made the wedding so special. Our wedding coordinator Christina was amazing she played such a critical part of helping our wedding vision become a reality.
The cocktail hour was our favorite part of the venue. It takes place outside of the tent spread out across the perfect green grass, pretty white stone walkways, and the cabin which is great for mingling and taking some scenic group photos. After the cocktail hour everyone makes their way into the spacious tent that is perfect for comfortably fitting our 200+ guests. I can't even count the number of people who commented on how great the food was. The tent has sides that fold down to keep it a comfortable temperature as the night goes on.
Overall I can't say enough about how special this place is. An absolutely gorgeous venue with an incredible staff made it the perfect place to get married.
Everything about Russell Morin was perfect. Their communication throughout the wedding planning process to day of. They made it very simple and there was no stress. Our coordinator...
Christina was the best. The service was great and the food even better. Our guests are still talking about how good the food was and the little personal touches we added throughout the night. I would highly recommend them for your wedding.

here was not another event booked at the lower venue, the cabin, so we were fortunate enough to be able to do our first look photos down on the water. Mount Hope Farm is absolutely beautiful and the grounds are well kept. We can't thank the Mount Hope Farm staff enough for helping make our day picture perfect!!
We had a wonderful wedding at the Cove Cabin at Mount Hope Farm in July 2023. Our Russell Morin coordinator, Christina, was fantastic to work with. She was organized, responsive, ...
and walked us through every step of the planning process. When the weather was looking dicey before our wedding day, Christina also kept us very calm.
Everything from the venue, to decor, to food was exactly what we hoped for. The raw bar was phenomenal and definitely worth it. Passed desserts were also a huge hit. We can really only say great things about the food. We received tons of compliments from our guests for a truly lovely day. We are grateful to Mount Hope Farm for being a perfect backdrop for it!

e really appreciate how patient, kind, and supportive they were throughout the entire process, not to mention how organized they are; in a sea of to-do-list items, they really kept us on track.
We could not have been happier about the end product. It was such a beautiful day, from start to finish. Staff on site were helpful and took care of everything, allowing us to enjoy the day fully. Guests remarked that it was the best wedding they’d ever been to. It’s probably a wedding cliche, but it’s truly hard to imagine a more perfect day.

utiful and unlike anything we had seen at other wedding venues. My family from Long Island, used to more traditional venues, was pleasantly surprised, and loved how different - and "us" our wedding felt. It was an absolutely pleasure working with Kelsey and the rest of the Morins team. She made the entire planning process simple and fun - and day-of execution went wonderfully under her management. Unfortunately, our plans for a fall, outdoor wedding were fully rained out as a hurricane made its way up the coast, but Kelsey kept positive, pivoting to our rain plan without a flinch. Honestly, her "everything's great!" attitude kept me from having a total meltdown about the weather and I'm so grateful for that because in the end, it was still such a beautiful day! Also, everyone still raves about how good the food was at our wedding!
We couldn't be happier with our decision to celebrate our wedding day at Mount Hope Farm's Cove Cabin. Christina was our coordinator through Russell Morin's Catering — she was so r...
esponsive and kind throughout the entire planning process, answering every question we had and working with us to make the day ours. From the tasting and menu selection process, to the design details from Ryan Designs, everything was so clearly communicated and made it easy to make decisions. We truly didn't experience any of the typical wedding planning stress because we knew the team at Russell Morin's would handle everything we needed during planning on and our wedding day. The venue itself is absolutely stunning and feels like you're in a fairy tale - it is truly a hidden gem in Rhode Island for folks looking for a stunning and unique outdoor waterfront venue! The food and drinks were amazing, and our family and friends told us all night that it was the best wedding they've been to (and are still reaching out to tell us!!). We truly cannot imagine having planned a wedding without Christina and the Morin's/Mount Hope Farm team!
We got married at the Barn at Mt Hope Farm, and had our cocktail hour outside across from the Barn. It was a beautiful place to get married. The barn is a clean and perfect lightly...
rustic location, that really stands out even with very simple and classic decor. Despite getting married in early Spring, the landscaping was beautiful and the landscapers did a great job making it look and feel very “spring,” with beautiful flowers. The grounds on the Farm are beautiful for pictures and for guests to walk around, see the animals, and even take a stroll down to the water throughout the weekend. Although there are other venues on site to get married (Cove Cabin and the tent), it’s great to have the guarantee that only one wedding will be held each day on the Farm.
We stayed in the suite at the Inn for the wedding weekend, which was great since it had a separate seating area perfect for housing decor and wedding items. Our wedding party stayed in the Inn as well, so we could gather and relax on the main floor together throughout the weekend. The rooms were very nice and they installed ACs for us quickly when it was unseasonably hot the day prior to our wedding. The Innkeeper was very friendly and helpful, and the Farm also provided (for a small fee) heaters for the wedding, if needed.
We fell in love with Mount Hope Farm from first sight. If the inn and ceremony garden weren't enough, the beautiful wood barn with twinkle lights, roaring fireplace, and our candle...
s and decor was like being in a fairy tale. Also, as both of us work with animals, being able to go say hi to the goats when we wanted to quick second alone was so perfect. Gorgeous, amazing, fantastic venue!

g, and everything else was perfection. Our guests said it was the best wedding they've ever been to. The food was amazing and the staff did a great job assisting with our vision. From the s'mores and firepit to the late night snacks and everything being completely customizable, it was truly the best! Morins Catering made sure every allergy and dietary request was met too. Couldn't have asked for a better wedding!
Working with Christina from Morins at Cove Cabin at Mount Hope Farm was awesome. The venue is so gorgeous - those hydrangeas! - and we were blown away by the level of service that ...
was provided to our guests. We had the best time ever, and our guests did too - beyond our wildest dreams!

autiful it is in person. My husband got married last weekend at the Barn at Mount Hope Farm and it was the perfect day. The atmosphere gives off everything people love about quintessential New England. Morins works exclusively with MFH for catering and they did everything right - the hospitality, food, and decor were unmatched. Working with Kelsey and Yasmin from Morins was a highlight of the experience, too. I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else!

tion, but it's truly special. From the ceremony under the trees to the open-air cabin to the large, lovely tent with an incredible view of the Mount Hope Bridge, the on-site experience is both convenient and dynamic. We also stayed at the Inn which, again, is pricey, but so charming and awesome for photos and guests hanging after the reception. There are rigid rules and guidelines, but that's understandable. We loved our wedding there - unforgettable!
My husband and I got married in June 2022 at the Barn at Mount Hope Farm. The RMCE team, and most especially our coordinator Kelsey, were a joy to work with throughout the wedding ...
planning process! Kelsey had such maaizng positive energy that made us feel excited and confident leading up to the big day. She patiently and quickly answered all our questions as we were planning our wedding from across the country. She made the day of the event go so smoothly for us! The rest of the team was also wonderful and made our wedding vision a reality! The food and drink experience were all delicious and the tasting was one of our favorite parts of planning. We really loved the special touch of having a newlywed attendant on the day of as well. Highly recommend this venue and team to future brides & grooms!

I do not have enough good things to say about our wedding at Mt. Hope Farm - Cove Cabin. While our opinion is biased (that it's the best wedding we've ever been to), many of our fa...
mily and friends have made a point to reach out and say just how incredible this place and wedding was. From the stunning views, thoughtful attentive staff, and plentiful space, to the delicious foods and well-thought details. We opted for both the Del's stand and the firepit, which turned out to be huge hits among our guests.
Going back to the planning phase, everyone involved, Emily and Kacey, were not just incredible responsive but went out of their way to help us craft the perfect day. I (the bride) have celiac, and they quickly pulled together a call with the chef to ensure that they could do a 100% gluten free wedding so I would not have to stress about potentially getting sick. Nobody even noticed that everything was gluten free - down the bread rolls and the smore graham crackers!
The day of went without a hitch. The venue offers a ton of options for folks to dance on the dance floor, enjoy the nice views, walk and get some private space - something with COVID that our guests appreciated deeply.
I would 1000x over recommend this venue to anyone who wants an incredibly beautiful and meaningful wedding. You feel like you and your closest family friends are in this oasis in the middle of nowhere, and it's one of the best feelings in the world.
Cove Cabin at Mount Hope Farm was the venue of our dreams, and our wedding turned our more beautiful and special than we ever could have imagined. The view is nothing short of spec...
tacular, and the tent is gorgeous. Emily Rachels is spectacular at her job, dealt with two years of us changing our minds about our every little detail, and made sure our day was perfect. Our bridal attendant, Michelle, was also incredible - attentive and made it so easy for us to enjoy ourselves. Emily coordinates the catering with Russell Morin - the food is excellent - and decor rentals through Ryan Designs, and we couldn’t have been happier with every aspect of our day. Our guests are still raving about the venue a month later.

aff and vendors were exceptional and very attentive! Being able to have the ceremony in the garden area and cocktail hour right in the grass area was great ! Russell Morin Catering who is there vendor is amazing and they also provide the cake for a great price! So I didnt have to get a cake on the outside. This venue is amazing !

sponsive and made the process simple. It was wonderful to have the venue, catering, and rentals are taken care of while talking to one person.
The venue is gorgeous with a well-manicured lawn and garden. Our guests enjoyed seeing all the animals on the farm as well. The catering from Morin's is amazing. Our guests are still telling us which food they enjoyed the most - mini lobster rolls, fish and chip cone, cacio e pepe and coffee frappuccinos are all top of the list.
I would recommend renting a room in the Govenor's House. This way you are at the venue all day and can relax with your friends and family and get ready.
We had such an incredible wedding at Mount Hope! Our guests were raving about how beautiful of a venue it was. It's a picture perfect location and most of the service was top notch...
. Only reason we're not giving 5 stars is because we (bride/groom/bridal party) couldn't go onto the venue property until an hour before the ceremony which made pictures and our first look a lot more complicated, and there's no air conditioned space for the bride to get ready or freshen up which is an issue on a super hot summer day.
Emily Rachels and her team were incredible in helping us navigate a tricky, uncertain environment and ultimately helped pull off our dream wedding. Can't say enough about the profe...

with. They were responsive, professional and super fun to get to know over the planning process. They made the unfortunate circumstances of postponing due to COVID as painless as we ever could've anticipated. The day of service was top notch and the food was amazing (I'm a foodie with a culinary trained mom). Menu options are endless and customizable. We received so many compliments from our guests, many of whom said, "I've been to so many weddings but this was the best!". Everyone we worked with were so nice and caring and made our special day more magical than we could've imagined!

to navigate safety for all guests. I can't say enough about how incredible Emily was during all of our planning. She was quick to answer any questions or concerns and helped to plan a wonderful cocktail hour in the garden as well as a magical evening in the barn. Emily was calm, patient and sensitive to us working within our budget. I can honestly say that I put complete trust in her and the rehearsal dinner would not have gone nearly as smoothly if it weren't for her! The food from Russell Morin catering was delicious as all our guests raved about their meals. Thank you to Mount Hope, Emily and the rest of the friendly staff for making such a special event be a memory of a lifetime!

staff was professional and dedicated. We worked mainly with Emily to plan the event, and she was the most amazing guide through the entire process, from choosing our menu & decor, to navigating a rain forecast and changing up the plan, to creating a seamless flow from ceremony to appetizers to dinner to dancing with such a calm energy. The Cove Cabin, and the environment surrounding it, are almost mysteriously beautiful, and I feel that every guest left having experienced something truly special. I am filled with gratitude. Do yourself a favor and book this venue.
As most 2020 brides know, this year has been incredibly challenging and stressful. Restrictions changed regularly, as communities transitioned into a new way of life. Mount Hope Fa...
rm never created additional stress for my now husband (yay!) and I. Understandably, there were friends and family expressing some worry about how the event would occur, or what changes would need to be made. I had those worries regularly. But, every correspondence with MHF and my coordinator Emily (she was amazing!), expressed their excitement over the event, their ability to create a memorable wedding while ensuring the safety of guests/abiding by state regulations - and most importantly - they created a relationship of trust. My husband and I felt confident with every aspect of the venue. They provided timely updates and options when changes occured. I applaud their support and calm approach during what was certainly one of their most challenging wedding seasons. If you choose MHF as your venue, your are not only receiving spectacular views but an outstanding team to ensure the day is seamless. Thank you, thank you.

Behind the scenes, our coordinator Luana’s creativity and “outside the box” inventiveness in the face of an unprecedented pandemic made everything possible, regulation-compliant, and as risk free as possible. The staff was professional, helpful, friendly, and attentive. In short, perfect!
We got married here on 8/20/20 and LOVED it so much. Since we saw this place I fell in love with it and did not even consider other places. Mount Hope Farm is absolutely gorgeous,...
it feels magical. We got married with a view of the bay and the bridge, and we had the tent as back-up in case it rained (it didn't!). We used the cove cabin and its deck for the reception, also so beautiful and airy. Emily and the staff were extremely attentive and professional, and the food (through Rusell Morin) was delicious!

10/10 would recommend!
I got married at the Barn at Mount home Farm in October 2019. We absolutely LOVED the venue and working with Emily and Renee made the whole planning process ...
so smooth and easy. Emily was very quick and responsive. She was so on top of every little detail that went into planning. Renee was with me on my actual day and was my life savior. She stayed by my side and made sure I had everything and anything I needed. The two of them are such a pleasure to work with, I wish we could do it all over again! I would recommend this venue, as well as both girls to anyone and everyone!

lowed by the most divine outdoor cocktail hour complete with an amazing raw bar, excellent hors d'oeuvres, and a Del's lemonade cart. The barn was the perfect size for our reception of 100 people, and was so beautiful lit up with the string lights. Russel Morin's did an excellent job with the food, the staff was extremely professional, and Emily was truly amazing as our event coordinator. She made everything run so smoothly that we were able to have a completely stress-free and joyous day. We are so happy we chose Mount Hope Farm and can't recommend it enough.

We highly recommend visiting Mount Hope Farm before you commit to any venue in the area, it is absolutely stunning!

venue and caterer. Our original coordinator left her position during the planning process, but the transition was seamless and there were no issues. Liana was absolutely fantastic and our day would not have gone as perfectly as it did if it weren't for her. She made all of the planning very easy and was super responsive whenever we had questions. She coordinated all of our outside vendors so that everyone knew what to do on the day of, we did not have to worry about the details. Could not have wished for a better day, if I could redo the whole thing, I would pick Mount Hope Farm and Russell Morin Catering again!

n alcohol which was a plus. The aspect that made the venue worth it for us was the day of coordinator. We worked with Liana and she made the planning so easy for us. She gave us tasks and deadlines that helped ease my type A personality. She coordinated with our vendors, set up the decor, and packed up our personal items at the end of the night. I couldn't recommend this venue more!

s gardens, and a beautiful drive to the rustic cabin. The catering is UNMATCHED and our guests are continuing to talk about the food over a month later. The staff at Mount Hope is incredible, and really took care of all of our guests as well as us that day. Liana is an absolute magician--she brought our vision to life with such minimal time of knowing each other. Would highly recommend a wedding at Mount Hope Farm, and will continue to visit for seasonal events and dinners!

ded on the Cabin. We worked with Emily MacArthur as our coordinator. She was incredible - responding to my random questions at all hours of the day and night, super organized, patient and knowledgable. She seriously went above and beyond. All the food from Russell Morin was delicious and our guests raved about it. Super happy with our decision!
