When I fist saw Mountain House Estate online it looked beautiful from the pictures on their website. But nothing could have prepared me for how breathtaking it was in person! The minute my and my husband stepped foot on the property we both knew it was something special. and after touring several other venues in wine country nothing came close to the personality and charm that Mountain House has. The owners Lane and John are amazing and two nicest people you will ever meet. You can really tell the hard work that they put into making Mountain House special place for couples to celebrate their love and start of their new lives together. 10000/10 recommend having your wedding or next event at Mountain House Estate!

Mountain House was such a beautiful venue! we had the ceremony up under the tree and it was so so beautiful! The venue does have a lot of rules and particulars, but you can tell it's because they want you to have the very best night. Lane checked in a lot during the process which was very nice to nail down the specifics. They also provided a list of vendors that they love to work with and Lane gave a specific name for a wedding planner who we ended up going with and LOVED. we truly had an amazing night and they were very easy to work with even when last minute it rained and caused moving the food inside. I would reccomend this venue every day!

We chose this as our wedding venue and we were not disappointed. It is absolutely beautiful with fantastic accommodations and flexibility so you can have the type wedding that you want that’s within your budget. Lane and John the owners are so professional and organized they are so easy to work with and no detail is unattended to. We are so glad we chose this gorgeous venue for happiest day of our life.

MHE was the perfect venue for us! We chose MHE because of its location (close to the Bay Area while still feeling like a getaway), the beautiful scenery, and our ability to customize the space. Our day flowed so nicely because John and Lane really have thought of everything from the getting ready rooms, to parking, to heaters/air, to a great speaker system throughout the space. They allow you to choose your own food and drinks and include a lot of extras, which really allows you make the wedding yours while saving on costs. Every inch of the property gives you great photos (pond, oak tree, garden) and set-up was a breeze for vendors. Our guests had such a great time in wine country and the wedding was much easier to plan because MHE had lots of experience and advice. They do have more rules and staffing requirements than other venues, but nothing unreasonable. Finally, Lane and John are such nice people and they really take pride in their facility, easy communication, and their local vendor list. We loved everyone we worked with and it was a flawless day!

This stunning venue truly speaks for itself. The second we stepped foot on the property, we knew it was the place for our wedding. It is gorgeous and truly plays off it's natural surroundings so we didn't even feel the need to decorate much. With all the different outdoor options for ceremony and reception spaces, as well as places for both bride and groom to get ready, it was amazing. Lane and John are so sweet and did so much more than just provide the venue. They helped us select our date, provided recommendations for many vendors and were always quick to provide answers for any questions we had. They keep in touch with you every step of the way and really care about the couples. The venue, along with Lane and John (and the wonderful vendors they recommended), truly made our wedding a bespoke experience.

One of the first things that led us to choose this venue was the incredible property -- the views, the versatility of the space, and the overall feeling. When we arrived at the venue, we were amazed to see that the photos on the website didn't even capture how amazing the property is. And to top if off, Lane and John (who own the property) were the friendliest, down-to-earth people who were so helpful, informative, and kind throughout the entire process. They are ALWAYS making improvements to the property, and were quick to give us a recommendation for any type of vendor or problem solving that we were looking for. I hope I don't have another wedding! But if I did -- I'd do it here again in a heartbeat.

John & Lane think of everything! From the moment we first toured MHE, we felt at home there. The property is just beautiful and we can't say enough good things about it. They have a variety of areas that you can use to truly make your big day your own. There is indoor space in case of inclement weather. Definitely recommend this wedding venue.

Mountain House Estate is absolutely amazing! It was the perfect venue for our spring time wedding. The property is beautiful and even the pictures don’t do it justice. It has just about everything you need right there. A Bar, plenty of bathrooms, two separate suites for couples and wedding party to get ready in, multiple ceremony locations, a cute barn that can be used for just about anything, patio, big inside space, lots of beautiful photo spots and perfect first look location. Lane and John at Mountain House really put thought into every detail. They also have an amazing list of suggested vendors, which was very helpful. The day was beyond magical and everything went smoothly. They are professional and really go above and beyond to make sure the couple and their guests have the best time.

This review is overdue but very important to us. My husband, Austin and I were married at the Mountain House Estate this past June. It was a magical day and we are so happy we chose to celebrate with our family and friends at MHE. From the start of our planning journey in 2019, John and Lane were incredibly supportive and communicative about everything that planning a wedding entails. They provided us with vendor lists that helped us connect with our wonderful planner, Lacey, as well as the rest of our vendors who made the day so memorable. These past 2 years have not been easy (for anyone!) and due to COVID we were not sure if we would be able to have the wedding we envisioned. John and Lane kept us up to date with everything going on in Mendocino and Sonoma county. They took the time to talk with us on the phone multiple occasions and answer all our concerns. Although it was a time of uncertainty, we felt comfortable moving forward and knew without a doubt they were doing everything they could for us and the rest of their clients. The MHE is stunning and will always be a special place to us. The care and love that John and Lane put into the property is clear to see! Many of our guests raved about the property and how warm and beautiful it felt. We were married under the Oak trees, which felt magical. When it came to the day of, my bridesmaids and I were able to enjoy the property for the full day (the bridal and groom suites are a real treat!). We also didn’t want our dancing to be cut short and MHE allows guests the option to stay until midnight. The flow of our wedding felt easy and many guests expressed how relaxed and comfortable it was. The location is close to Healdsburg where our guests stayed, but just far enough that we felt away and in our own unique space. If you are looking to have your wedding in the Sonoma/Mendocino area, I highly recommend contacting John and Lane and visiting the MHE. We’re forever grateful we found them.

The facility was remarkable. The location is tucked away in the countryside, and offers amazing views. The men's dressing room had shuffleboard, poker table, foosball, and a big screen tv with xbox. The women's dressing room was large and easily accommodated our group. The bar area is so beautiful as is the dining area. So many places to take pictures outside. We got married at the tree, which was breathtaking. Highly recommend getting married at Mountain House Estate!

I cannot say enough good things about Mountain House Estate... if you're considering having your wedding here, do it!! This venue spectacular, feels remote, and has tons of different areas for the various parts of your event. John and Lane put so much care and love into their property, and it really shows - our guests kept commenting on how much they loved it. Throughout the whole planning process, Lane was incredibly responsive and flexible, and we couldn't be happier with how our event went off.

I don’t write a lot of reviews, but I had to leave one for my wedding venue because it knocked my socks off. My wife initially picked this venue because it had such a beautiful place for her to get ready and get dressed as well as a ceremony spot, The Oak Tree Terrace, that we thought was unlike any other venue we toured (and we saw quite a few!). But what really was the icing on the cake for me was the Hangout, which is where my groomsmen and I got ready. Other venues we toured had a great or decent bridal suite, but essentially a closet (think Harry Potter) for the men to get dressed in. Not the case at Mountain House Estate! There is an amazing area where we could play poker, shuffleboard, fooseball, had lockers to store our belongings, an XBOX with a huge TV, and couches to lounge on. I was blown away by this because I felt like this was a great area for us to blow off steam (and my nerves) and create some great memories that day. Aside from having an amazing area to get dressed and hangout, the wedding day itself was amazing. Our ceremony was even better than pictured and the food at the reception (we hired a local caterer who made such great food and a great experience at dinner). I’ll be honest, my wife (and the planner) handled most of the planning and details, but I could not be happier with our choice of venue and how the day went. I feel really special that we picked a venue that had a spot just for me (and my groomsmen) and the photos turned out amazing because the venue has so many different places and areas to take cool photos.

When I found Mountain House Estate, I knew that I found the perfect venue to host my wedding. So many venues I looked at offered all-inclusive packages that made me feel a bit restrained in my wedding vision...but what I loved about Mountain House is that I was able to really customize my wedding to be exactly how I wanted, even having food trucks. My planner and I worked together (I'm a pretty busy person!) and she was able to create a wedding day for me unlike any weddings I've attended before, which is exactly what I wanted. I've attended so many weddings in the past and been able to know exactly what I wanted and didn't want for my wedding day. The Oak Tree terrace is where I held my ceremony and afterward, I loved all the different places my photographer took me around to have my photos on the property - barns, windmills, antique trucks, ponds, and gardens, I really got all the photos I was looking for! I keep looking back on my photos every day and am so happy. Afterward, our caterer (who was amazing) served us on the lawn and the ambiance was just perfect. All around, after looking at so many venues, I'm so happy that I ultimately decided on hosting my wedding here because I wasn't looking for the cheapest or most all-inclusive venue, but rather a place that was unique,special, and helped paint my (very detailed) wedding vision! It also helps that it is in Sonoma wine country and I was able to treat my guests to some of my favorite activities before and after my wedding, like wine tastings and sightseeing.

Mountain House created a beautiful and seamless experience for our wedding. They made us feel very welcome, were very disciplined and professional, and made us so comfortable. They are worth the price and the effort.

A long-awaited wedding has finally happened! And it was everything we could have hoped for... largely because of this beautiful venue and incredible support of both Lane and John. Both my wife and I had worked previously in the catering business and had seen dozens of venues but none really could provide the stunning ambiance, attention to detail, support and management from the owners, and flexibility like when we range into weather complications or vendor issues – not to mention the price is very competitive for this area. Check out this venue ASAP they are in high demand but best of yet, you'll probably save some time because your venue hunting will end there!

MHE was the perfect spot for our beautiful outdoor wedding in mid June. Lane and John were always prompt to answer questions or offer assistance with choosing vendors. We chose to have our ceremony up at the Oak Tree Terrace - what a gorgeous setting! We had a harpist playing ceremony music and then transitioned to a DJ for dinner and dancing on the lawn and the patio areas. Being able to move between areas was awesome - no need to be turning over tables with people mingling around. I loved that there were getting ready areas for the guys and girls as this made it so easy to spend the whole day on the property and not be worrying about transportation to/from. Highly recommend this venue for a gorgeous wine country wedding - their preferred vendors list is amazing as well!

After being married here in 2018, my husband and I had the opportunity to come by and visit the property this fall (while we were 8 months pregnant with our little girl). It was such a great feeling to walk around the wedding venue and snap a few photos with the bump where we had said I Do! This venue is a special place, largely because the owners are special people. Mountain House Estate is a beautiful venue to celebrate the most special of occasions. The grounds are gorgeous and provide breathtaking landscape variety. Whether you are comfortably enjoying the sounds of the fountain by the pond or simply enjoying the views from under the shaded oak tree, you won't be disappointed with what this unique place will offer your celebration. The owners John and Lane both truly care about providing their clients with an experience that is tailored specifically to them while providing artistically creative options. Mountain House Estate is an absolute gem! I have worked in the industry as the sales and marketing director for a wedding venue and catering service in Sonoma County so I have some idea of what makes a great venue from ones that I have managed and/or had our staff work at. Now it is my turn to find a venue of my own for my wedding. Mountain House Estate is TRULY one of the few venues that I have been to that is gorgeous and well thought out throughout virtually every inch of the property. It is very evident that John & Lane have spent many years and hard work in developing this venue. On top of that, they are both such a pleasure to converse with and their recommendations of outside vendors have proven to be a further extension of their expertise in the industry. If you have not had the chance, check this venue out! The pictures and videos, while stunning, do not do it justice. With all the additional room and venue options at your disposal, the price is extremely fair if not a steal! They are also constantly adding and updating the venue, who knows how much better it'll become by your special day.

Lane and John are AMAZING! My Fiancé and I looked at many different venues before checking out Mountain House Estate, but once we met with Lane and she shared her knowledge, choosing Mountain House was a NO BRAINER! As soon as we arrived, she took the time to get to know us and ask about our vision for our wedding day. She had weather patterns for our time of year printed as well as a wealth of photographs for us to look at showing the property during May. We have a larger bridal party and had been concerned about the getting ready rooms for the day of our wedding. The Bridal Suite and Bachelor's room are flawless; John and Lane thought of everything. With plenty of natural light and seating, they are perfect for photos, makeup and just being together, not squished, while getting ready. However, perhaps our favorite location on the property is Oak Tree Terrace. There is something absolutely magical about the communal seating underneath those towering Oaks. We cannot wait to say our vows and tie the knot in a space that feels as sacred as the commitment we are making. You cannot go wrong with choosing Mountain House Estate for your wedding location!

love how Lane and John who own MHE have a nice list of vendors that they have used in the past. It makes it so much easier to find your perfect match! Lane and John are so nice and they care so much about your special day and they always tell us it's all about the bride and groom. We can't wait to get married there next September!

Our drive up was good no traffic no idiots. The road up was windy so don't pull over like we did for some Macdonalds, you'll be sorry. Anyways 5 minutes into the drive, the road starts to get narrow and you begin to wonder if your going the right way. Signs are posted well in advance so you can't miss it. We pull up and Lane is there to greet us...WOW...WOW...WOW! At this point I'm not even out of my car yet. This place is huge I'm in awe; already picturing my day and that's a good sign! Lane leads us into the ballroom where I'm blown away with how the place is designed. The wood panel and finishes are done by her husband John. I stand in the room fighting back tears cause again I start to picture my big day. Lane sat us down to get to know us better. We had a very nice chat, Lane was very informative no sugar coating she gave us the whole low down. I now know what to expect. We began touring and each location was breathtaking I mean it! My head was spinning from all the beautiful sites Lane took us too. There were so many locations to have your ceremony and reception. Finally it was time to visit the Oak Tree Terrace...this location is what made me look into the venue in the first place. We walked up to the terrace only to yet again be blown away! Seeing my fiancé standing at the bottom of the threshold brought me to tears and at that moment...I knew this is where I'm getting married at! Lane was a doll she was such a delight throughout the entire tour, let the planning begin.

We recently had our wedding at Mountain House Estate and it was a dream! This venue has everything, I received so many compliments during our wedding about how beautiful the venue is. The room for the girls to get ready has so much space its perfect for getting ready, relaxing before walking down the aisle, and it photographs beautifully. The room for the guys to get ready in is also perfect, there is poker, shuffle board, video games, and much more, my husband loved getting ready there! Lane and John are great to work with, they always responded quickly and gave us so many ideas.

The Mountain House Estate is the best venue ever! We spent 3 amazing days thanks to Lane and John, they are so kind and understanding . They did everything to help us organize our wedding and it was perfect! Our guests were so impressed and loved this venue! The Oak Tree terrace where we had our ceremony is most beautiful spot you could find! I can only recommend this gorgeous venue! Thank you so so much for taking such good care of us!

I am a local event coordinator. I often do events at MHE. This venue is the whole package. I find myself at other venues having to bring in a bar, a bathroom, a dance floor, install lighting or rent hotel rooms for the bridal party to prepare. That’s not the case at MHE. Everything is included here. There’s even a second suite for the guys to get ready. You can both have your ceremony & your reception at the same venue, which is also another bonus. Love working here. Love working with John & Lane. Couldn’t ask for a better place to have your event.

Mountain House Estate is beautiful and special in so many ways. If you are looking for a venue that offers various locations for wedding events while all being at the same site, than this is the place for you. We loved that we were able to have our ceremony up by the oak tree, our dinner on the lawn by the pond, and our dancing in the courtyard. We also love that we were able to get ready on site as well. John and Lane are wonderful people and truly want the best for each couple. We looked at this site for a very long time and are so thankful we decided to get married here. Mountain House Estate was our dream venue! The property is stunning and the flexibility means that couples can make the day anything they could dream of. We were drawn to MHE because Lane was so easy to work with. She was the first to respond to my inquiries and everything was just as smooth from there! John and Lane keep the property up beautifully and made the entire process so smooth! I could not recommend this venue more! We had the wedding of our dreams!

I do not even know where to start. Mountain house estate was the most magical, beautiful, classy, fairytale-esque venue, and we feel so lucky to have gotten to share it with our family and friends. Lane and John are the owners and they are the warmest, kindest people. They help you all along the way with suggestions and support. I feel like words really fall flat in expressing how much we loved this special place. We had our ceremony by the oak tree which was really close to my heart because it reminded me of the street I grew up on. Then cocktail hour inside near the bar, dinner on the lawn in front of the pond, and dancing on the gorgeous back patio. The whole evening was perfect. 10/10 would recommend this venue.

Is there a heaven on earth? YES! My husband and I had heard of MHE through a mutual friend and wow, just wow! We were so in love that we cancelled all other venue tours and booked right away after our first visit. As a couple from Northern California, we dreamed of finding a venue that honored and accentuated the beauty of California and MHE nails it. The grounds are immaculate, the gardens are exquisite, the trees (and especially the Oak Trees up the hill where we had our ceremony) are to die for. Both we and our guests could not get over how truly stunning this venue is and it is the perfect size with lots of options on how to use space. We had a wedding of 150. We had our ceremony under the Oak Tree, had cocktails in the barn, did dinner on the lawn, and dancing/photobooth/lawn games/dessert on the patio. It was the perfect use of space and made each area feel new and special. Highly recommend and felt like a really nice use of space while still feeling intimate. Looking for a venue that replies ASAP? MHE. Looking for a place that is constantly in communication leading up to your wedding? MHE. Looking for a place that allows to go past midnight? MHE. Looking for a place that allows you to book any vendor to truly make your day your own? MHE. Not only is this place just heaven, but John and Lane are some of the sweetest people you will ever meet. They were incredibly open with everything that the venue includes and we loved that we had the ability to hire whichever vendor we liked (most of ours were from their vendor list and man oh man do they have true gems on there and we ended up hiring local businesses too!). To show just how amazing John and Lane are I want to tell a little story. After our wedding I realized I had lost a family heirloom that was on my bouquet. The next day I called Lane in a panic and we were ready to scour the property looking for it. After I retraced my steps, my husband and I realized I had left my bouquet in the garden. Lane being the angel she is went up and checked for us on the drive up and found it! She is a legend!! On our wedding day, we felt truly at ease and just overjoyed to be there. Our guests could not stop talking about how gorgeous everything was and I even heard some people say it was the most effortlessly, relaxed and beautiful wedding they have ever been to. Score! Mountain House Estate was the first official venue tour my husband and I went on. Lane was so kind, and passionate about her property. From the moment I walked onto the site, I could envision myself getting married there. We went on 10 more tours in different areas and still, Mountain House was holding my heart. We are so glad we decided to have our wedding here! It’s an all in one experience. I loved getting ready in the bridal suite with my bridesmaids and mothers!! My husband was one of the first to experience their newly renovated groomsman suite- it is incredible! Their outdoor setting is just breathtaking. We had our ceremony in the front lawn and reception on the back patio. I was obsessed with their redwood bar that John, himself, made! There is just so much love and passion that went into creating this space and it shows with every detail! All of our guests were wowed by the beauty of it! I just had such an amazing experience there! They even sent us the cutest newlywed gift after our wedding and I just loved how thoughtful they were! Highly recommend this venue!!

This venue is hands down the best decision you will make in selecting a wine country wedding venue. My daughter and son-in-law were married last weekend in an event that one guest described as “the most elegant and effortless wedding I’ve ever attended.” We had the pleasure of working with Owners John and Lane for about a year and they are such a pleasure. They are professional, attentive, caring and loving in every way. The property is immaculate (I challenge you to find even one dead flower on the whole sprawling property!). Everything is smartly built for flexibility and creativity. If you’re looking for a venue, look no further. Book it now!

Where should we start? We visited Mountain House Estates and instantly new this was the venue for us. The venue is beautiful and has so much to offer. Although this venue has a lot of rules such as required security, Lane and John were both wonderful at communicating and getting everything ready for our big day. We had a few hiccups with some vendors but Lane and John were more than helpful in the process and it was evident they wanted to ensure our day was perfect. This venue really has everything we wanted and more. The rooms for both bridal parties to get ready are amazing and designed perfectly for the' bride and groom (trust me ladies, you will love the bridal suite)! We got married under the oak tree on the top of the hill and it was wonderful! The garden was blooming, the built in seats were comfortable for guests and it made the absolute PERFECT spot for our ceremony. We hosted our dinner on the lawn where there was plenty of room for our 150 guests. We ended our evening dancing under the stars and patio lighting and wouldn't have changed it for the world. Highly recommend this venue!

We chose to have our wedding at Mountain House Estate because we wanted to have a wedding that we could customize and make into our own. We saw several lovely venues during our search, but so many didn't allow us to make many decisions or tailor the day to our own interests. Enter MHE...just what we were looking for and beautiful too! We were able to choose our own vendors with some preferred vendors provided to help guide us when needed, bring our own alcohol, set our own hours, select from many spaces where we would have the ceremony versus reception, and even bring in a second late night food vendor (i.e. a taco cart set up right on the patio). Our guests continue to contact us and comment on how unique and personal our wedding turned out to be. Everyone (including the bride and the groom) had a great time, and we would choose to have our wedding here 100% if given the option to do everything again. Oh and we can't forget the owners. They are professional all of the way. They were extremely responsive to our questions via e-mail and made the whole experience great fun. Thanks John and Lane!

10 out of 10 AMAZING!!! We had been looking at the Highland Estate, next door to Mountain House and we loved the views but something wasn’t right. When we decided to take a tour of Mountain House Estate, I remember Lane’s warmth, kindness and love of her property instantly sticking out. She happily showed us around and we were so taken back by how beautiful it was. She let us have a moment up at the Oak tree sight and I started to tear up because I knew we had found our spot. We rolled the dice and chose a February wedding date and while we had planned to get married at the Oak tree and the reception in their courtyard, the weather did not allow this. The amazing part about MHE is the amount of Plan B locations it allows. We ended up renting a tent and having our ceremony inside. It was just as beautiful as if we had it at the Oak tree. We are so thankful for John and Lane’s responsiveness and genuine interest in their brides and grooms success. We can’t speak highly enough and thank them for allowing us to choose their venue for our big day!

My husband and I got married at MHE on October 20th, 2018. When we started looking for a venue, we had a few “musts”. MHE fit all those requirements— including the flexibility to choose our vendors and the space to accommodate our guest list. In fact, MHE was the first and ONLY venue we looked at. Once we walked around the beautiful grounds, we knew we had found “the one”. The only issue we ran into was wanting to utilize all the spaces, which was no fault of the venue itself. As I mentioned, it is not a one stop shop type of place. I will admit it added more decisions to the long list of to dos, but more importantly it gave us the ability to personalize every aspect of our day in order to reflect our love. John and Lane were super helpful and informative in the months leading up to our wedding day. They went above and beyond to make sure all our questions were answered and to offer guidance of what’s worked well in the past. They both take so much pride in their property and have worked so hard to update the estate and property while maintaining its rustic beauty. To this day, every time we talk to one of our guests, they boast about what a beautiful day it was. We are so glad everyone loved it as much as we did! And our photos are our lasting memory of just how perfect everything was. Thanks again, John and Lane!!

The Mountain House Estate was an absolutely stunning venue! We chose to get married at the Oak Tree Terrace and it was so beautiful. We followed with dinner on the patio and dancing inside. I was annoyed with myself for months that I had chosen a venue so far from where we live, but the guests loved getting out of the Bay and taking some time to relax - there are truly plenty of VRBOs and AirBnbs in the area. As soon as we arrived to Cloverdale the Thursday before our wedding, we were so at peace, no distractions like we would have had at home. Some things our guests said were "That was the most beautiful, relaxed, joyful, FUN, and nature involved wedding we have been to". Just be aware that the venue does have many rules, however that is the case with most everywhere in California. This venue does allow you to have hard alcohol - but more insurance is needed. Your flower girls can throw flower petals, but for a hefty price (so we chose something else instead). Absolutely NOTHING can be brought the day before during your rehearsal - this can make day of more complicated. I hardly interacted with the owner, as everything was through our FANTASTIC wedding coordinator (Lacey at Stacey Goods Farm and Events).

We had a beautiful June wedding at Mountain House Estate. This was the only venue we toured, and we instantly fell in love with the versatility of the space, the immaculate landscaping & attention to detail that Lane and John have put into their property. We had so much space to get ready - they have a beautiful bridal suite & a very cool grooms loft. I love that they thought about both parties like that, and it was important to me to be able to get ready on site, since that really is a huge part of the day. My favorite part of our wedding was our ceremony at oak tree terrace. There are lots of ways to use all the spaces at MHE, but I can’t recommend enough that you use oak tree terrace. It was magic. We will never forget saying our vows under the oaks in such a beautiful place. This venue is special, and I feel like they never host the same wedding twice because there are so many different ways to use the property. Thanks for such a great wedding day Lane and John.

This venue is so gorgeous! We loved our wedding. All of our guests commented on how beautiful the Oak Tree ceremony site was and how the flow of the reception area was perfect. The bar and Patio are gorgeous. The bridal suite is more than comfortable to get ready in and most of the owners of Mountain House Estate are so accommodating to all their wedding parties needs. John and Lane are amazing. We will never forget our day. Many of our guest thanked us for being invited to such an elegant place.

We absolutely loved our wedding at Mountain House Estate this past summer. Firstly there are so many options to choose from for where you want your ceremony/dinner/cocktail hour on the estate, that means you can make the day into whatever you want and the whole venue is stunning. Three other big reasons we chose Mountain House: 1. We could get the venue until Midnight which in Sonoma it is really hard to find venues that will go past 10pm. 2.BYO alcohol and being permitted to provided spirits to our guests - again many venues in Sonoma will only allow beer and wine (and being english and australian not having spirits would have been an issue!) 3.Although they have an expansive list of preferred vendors at different budget options, you can use any vendors so long as they have the right insurance and are fully licenced. I was really worried that we and guests were going to boil in the August sun but the venue gets a really good breeze and so even though Sam was in a three piece suit and I had long sleeves we were totally fine with the temperature. John and Lane were fantastic at answering my millions of questions. I booked our venue nearly two years ahead of time so they got alot of questions over that time and were always very fast at replying which I really appreciated. Also over the two years John and Lane were always adding extra touches to the venue e.g the fire pit wine barrels, groomsmen suite and reno of the main room, all were done between booking the venue and our wedding day so we ended up with an even better experience than what we had expected. They are always improving the venue which is awesome. You can tell they genuinely want you to have the best day of your life and I am so glad we chose this venue for our special day.

I was amazed with how great everything turned out to be. The venue is beautiful with so many charming photo spots for the couple as well as the entire entourage and guests. Inside the estate there are several rooms available to rent for the weekend, which makes setting up, getting ready, cleaning up, etc. so much more manageable and helps take the stress off from having to do everything on the day of the event. It's very spacious so the guests never feel like they are crammed into any particular area and the inside of the main house was recently redone, making it feel so much more rustic. I understand that grooms don't often review things related to weddings, but this place is so great that I decided to be an exception. I found Mountain House Estate by searching through Unique places in Northern California. A couple places showed up in my search but I picked this place because of the different locations to take photos. We were Renewing our Vows and at the same time I'm also an Event Planner so for me there are certain specific things I look for in making this event for my husband and I memorable for us and the guests. What I love about our contact Lane at the property is that she had a preferred vendor list so she can tell you her experiences with them. She can also tell you about the nearest places for guests and food. She also was very prompt in emailing us back with questions we had along the way. The location was very private, intimate, and personable. Everyone kept asking us how we found this place. I'm all about doing something different than other weddings and this venue definitely makes you stand out from the rest. This place has tables, chairs, a place for you bridal party to get ready and a separate place for the groomsmen. You can have both an indoor and outdoor or garden reception/ceremony. You can make this a Country Barn Wedding, a Garden Wedding, etc in an Estate Setting. They have rooms available - I would do the weekend package to stay there package. It's nice to have the place to yourself the wedding rehearsal, the wedding, and enjoy time with your close family/friends. If you want a wedding where you can put your own personal touch to - this is the place. It is definitely something you would see in a magazine/pintrest worthy and something your guests will rave about in the years to come. The Mountain House Estate is one of the most beautiful properties we'd ever seen and we are so grateful to have been able to have our wedding there. Every guest commented on how beautiful the property is. Planning a wedding is such a stressful experience, but the Mountain House was there for us since the beginning, keeping us in the loop, working with our vendors, and answering our questions.

We are so happy that we picked Mountain House Estate! Numerous guests continue to comment on the pure beauty of our venue - they were blown away (as were we!). My husband and I knew this was the perfect spot for our wedding on our first tour. We had the flexibility to get creative with the space and the support from John and Lane to do so! We had our ceremony at the hilltop, cocktail hour inside/lawn, dinner on the lawn, and the dance party on the patio. We loved moving guests around all parts of their property. The space is perfect - every photo taken at the venue (in any direction) is just beautiful! They work hard to keep their property looking good and functioning well. One of the most invaluable parts of getting married at Mountain House Estate was the continued support and direction we received from John and Lane. They were able to help us through it all (even when we had big snafus come up!). They are incredible people who genuinely care. We are so thankful to have found Mountain House Estate!

My now husband and I just got married on June 23rd 2018 at Mountain House Estate!! What can I say that hasnt already been said?! When we began our search for wedding venues, Mountain House Estate was one of the 1st out of 15 total venues we toured. We absolutely fell in love the moment we pulled into the parking lot but didn't want to jump the gun so we just kept on touring. We found ourselves comparing every venue to Mountain House Estate though and after the 15th venue, we were like "why are we torturing ourselves?!" and booked with Mountain House Estate!! Lane and John are both very kind and you can feel the love they put into the venue. Lane answered all of my million emails within hours of sending it. She helped me with decisions that I couldn't make. She kept me calm when I was worried. She was just the best! We are from the East Bay and when we told everyone we chose Cloverdale, they were like "why so far?!" but once our guests arrived at the venue, they understood. My make up artist even said it was the most gorgeous bridal suite she ever did make up in! I highly recommend Mountain House Estate to anyone who wants a fairy tale wedding.

Mountain House Estate is an absolutely stunning wedding venue. The scenery could not be more picturesque, for a feel of rustic elegance. So many of our guests commented to us on how beautiful the location was. Our photographer and florist both mentioned it’s one of the loveliest venues they’ve seen. We used the hilltop tree site for our ceremony, and we were so happy with how things turned out. The newly remodeled great room was perfect for dancing. There are multiple outdoor sites you can choose for your ceremony or reception, but there is indoor space if a backup (weather) plan is needed. John and Lane were so helpful and friendly, and helped us select a coordinator and vendors to use. A coordinator is required, and most things need to be brought to the site (food, booze, linens). They do have chairs & tables to use, and a few other goodies, for no additional cost. We loved that we had more flexibility with what we wanted here than at local wineries or hotels, and for a fraction of the cost. It is a bit of a trek to get there, but we were able to arrange shuttles for our guests to local lodging without much trouble. It’s well worth the trip to Cloverdale, and we are so glad we went to see. Highly recommended for a beautiful outdoor venue (or even indoor if you prefer!), at a very reasonable cost for the area!

Nestled amidst the oak-studded rolling hills on the fringe of Mendocino and Sonoma Counties, Mountain House Estate provides the perfect backdrop to celebrate your special day or event. We had our wedding here on April 29th and the venue sufficiently accommodated our 125 guests. The spring rainfall made for a perfectly lush landscape, particularly up at the oak tree terrace, where we had our ceremony. Our guests sat in awe as they enjoyed breathtaking views of the surrounding area. Cocktail reception with appetizers followed at the beautiful redwood bar in the house. The perfect balance of rustic and elegance, John also just recently completed a renovation on the inside of the estate using reclaimed wood from a fallen old barn. It's absolutely gorgeous. Dinner took place on their patio and as the sun set, the above string lights provided the perfect ambiance. We rented a few heat lamps to make sure our guests were comfortable as the weather late-April can be a little uncertain. Pro-tip, while 16 round tables and a sweetheart table fit comfortably on the patio, there might need to be a little table shuffling after dinner to make way for a dance floor if the music is outside. We also took advantage of the barn to set up a small lounge where people could relax and talk or capture a memorable photo. Lane and John were absolutely a pleasure to work with. They were accommodating, respectful and committed to making sure everything at the venue was in order. While they had a preferred vendor list with some fantastic suggestions, several we used, they were also open to allowing us to select vendors not on their list. The venue made an everlasting impression on us while transporting us to a magical place. I highly recommend Mountain House for your event and know you will be in good hands.

We had a late May wedding here. It was absolutely beautiful with all of the wildflowers in bloom. Our ceremony was under the oak tree and though it was a really warm day, there was a perfect breeze that blew through and kept everyone comfortable. I picked Mountain House because it has so many different areas for people-out by the pond to sit, inside to get out of the heat or away from the noise, eating al fresco or hanging out in the bar area. It was a perfect venue for us and for our guests. and ALL of our guests mentioned how beautiful it was.

Mountain House Estate is such a gorgeous venue, and John and Lane are simply wonderful to work with. It's always an honor and delight to cater a wedding at Mountain House. The breathtaking natural vistas, abundant gardens, and lovely buildings, both old and new, offer so many options that each wedding is truly unique. We've cooked in several places on the property, and they've all provided a beautiful setting for our paella. Can't say enough about this very special venue.

Mountain House Estate is such a lovely venue!! Had everything we needed, and John and Lane are so friendly, helpful and professional. They gave us great suggestions for nearby vendors, were very flexible with our plans and just overall a joy to work with. There are multiple large spaces to use on the property, tons of great photo spots, and that bar really is to die for! As gorgeous and functional in person as it is in pictures (this was really the selling point for my husband, who is a brewer and planned to serve beer we made at our wedding!) We had such a memorable, amazing wedding at Mountain House, can’t sing their praises enough! Thanks Lane and John!

Lane and John were fantastic hosts for our August 2017 wedding. Their venue was the first we toured and we instantly fell in love. We liked the charm, flexibility, and sheer beauty of the venue. We had our pick of ceremony and reception locations with the ability to move said plans due to rain or extreme heat (luckily neither were necessary, we had perfect weather!). They were quick to respond and very accommodating while we made our arrangements. Our families and guest were similarly taken with the venue and location! We had a blast dancing the night away on the patio under the lights after dinner! Thank you Mountain House Estate!

Mountain House Estate is a beautiful venue with so many amenities included and multiple spaces and vignettes to choose from. The venue is a perfect balance between rustic and contemporary, with a beautiful bridal suite and well appointed grooms quarters. From a planners point of view, I especially appreciate that the venue has thought about what to include to accommodate couples and vendors alike. John and Lane have such an incredible passion for ensuring you have the perfect venue for your day and that is just one more, of many, reasons I would absolutely recommend Mountain House Estate!
