Okay, so truth be told, I’m not a hair and make-up kind of gal from day-to-day. And...
though our hastily-planned wedding in Freeport, ME was fast approaching, I had not engaged a professional aesthetician and was considering “winging it.”
Several friends (ahem, you know who you are!) encouraged me to go the extra mile for our “micro-wedding” of fifteen family and friends… so I went to the Knot and quickly was drawn to MRS’ info and approach.
Fast forward through some well-timed and responsive communication, I was fortunate to engage Christine to help me feel the “glam”— less than 10 days before the wedding date!
On the big day, I was a solo bride getting ready with no attendants the first hour and perhaps lost a “little” track of time when Christine arrived in the bridal suite— just as I was about to get in the shower— she was prompt and I was certainly 15 minutes behind! Christine took it all in stride, set up for makeup in the best daylight for our outdoor reception, and went to work as soon as I was ready.
The mood in the room was zen; I was staying calm as a “late-in-life” bride and Christine stayed calm also: nudging my natural characteristics and features toward a polished and casual style that matched the event.
Christine also attended to my mother (who just turned 87!) and off we both went to enjoy the day.
The overall hair and makeup aesthetic complemented my retro beaded column gown and took into account the damp weather during the garden patio ceremony and cocktail hour. The photos coming in this week are very flattering— especially the easy-on-very-easy-off lashes that put my eyes in a “new dimension” in some of the portraits.
I would highly recommend Christine for an intimate occasion such as mine— but also for a large bridal party— because in addition to her natural aesthetic gifts, she is organized and communicates well and clearly in advance of the event, and I can see her managing a larger party just as serenely.
