edding, our rehearsal dinner, which was my privilege as the MOG, as well as a welcome reception for the guests upon arrival. Each event had its own personality and she added touches i would never have thought of, from the numbers on the table at the rehearsal dinner having childhood photos of that age for the bride and groom, to the numbers on the wedding reception being a completely different set of numbers sentimental to the bride and groom. And the list goes on and on--special treats for the guests, things for the children to do, special desserts, fabulous send off, Whenever we came up with an idea, she found vendors and resources to make it happen. She transported what she couldn't get there. Most of all, she was a bright, energetic, helpful presence all week; when you are hoping that everything will go well, it happens before you eyes when Mary Shannon is there. She is a doll, and i would highly recommend her!

quickly learned my taste and made wonderful suggestions. My mind was at ease with her on the job! She traveled to Montana to be on site and while there she handled countless tasks ranging from welcome bags, stocking our fridges, guest travel and accommodations, welcome cocktail party, rehearsal, rehearsal dinner, ceremony, reception, afterparty, etc.! She went above and beyond to make us feel at ease and comfortable, and I don't know what I would have done without her diligence and thoughtfulness!

After consulting with one of my friends, who had planned three of her own daughter's weddings, I asked her what she would do differently if anything at all and she said "Hire a wedding planner"!! So I asked my daughter to research wedding planners in her area. A member of her church actually recommended Mary Shannon Ratliff. On a subsequent wedding dress shopping trip to Dallas, we met with Mary Shannon. She was absolutely delightful and put my mind at ease as to what all needed to be done. Since my daughter had done some of the preliminary planning for the wedding we needed Mary Shannon for the rehearsal and day of wedding activities. On the morning of the wedding Mary Shannon brought coffee to the bridal party as well as lunch for us and the groomsmen, who were in a different location. It was just one more thing I didn't have to worry about! The wedding ceremony was in Ft. Worth and the reception was in Arlington at the Jack Daniels Club at the Texas Rangers ballpark. Since Mary Shannon was coordinating between the two locations I didn't have to worry about checking out the reception site before the ceremony because Mary Shannon had taken care of that. Mary Shannon also made sure everything was running on schedule the day the wedding. It was also the little things she did that made a difference to me. The church my daughter got married in was beautiful and my daughter didn't want any flowers in the sanctuary, which was fine. But I thought a few flower bouquets for the entrance and outside of the church would be nice and of course Mary Shannon took care of that for us and I didn't have to run around hunting down flowers and tulle! The reception was lovely and Mary Shannon kept everything right on schedule there also. One of my dear friends at the reception later told me she noticed all that Mary Shannon was doing and how effortlessly she made it seem. You know you have a great wedding planner when as the Mother of the Bride I was able to relax and enjoy the day of my daughter's wedding not being burdened about all of the details that go into one of the most important celebrations you will experience. Today's weddings can be costly, but my advice to all brides and their families is to set aside part of your budget for a wedding planner. It was hands down the best money spent for your peace of mind and enjoyment of the day. Mary Shannon made everything look so effortless and run so smoothly that you didn't even realize she was there" behind the scenes" accomplishing all that she did which makes for an excellent wedding planner. It was such a blessing to be able to relax and enjoy my daughter's wedding day and Mary Shannon played a huge part in accomplishing just that!! Cathy Stone Springfield, VA
