I cannot say enough incredible things about Joshua Fields of Music by J Fields. As both a bride and a seasoned luxury event planner, I went into my own wedding knowing exactly how ...
high the bar needed to be. When you live in this industry, you don’t get the luxury of hiring “good enough” — you hire the best. Joshua didn’t just meet the bar, he raised it.
From the very beginning, his professionalism and process stood out. Before the wedding, Joshua scheduled a thoughtful consultation call with us to truly understand our vision, our vibe, and the kind of experience we wanted our guests to have. He didn’t skim the surface — he asked intentional questions about music preferences, cultural moments, emotional beats, and flow. He also collaborated seamlessly with our event coordinator, which made the entire production feel cohesive and elevated. On top of that, he uses an innovative app that allowed us to upload and organize our music selections in a way I’ve honestly never seen in the industry. Most DJs still rely on basic spreadsheets — this felt modern, streamlined, and reflective of someone who genuinely cares about client experience.
The day of the wedding, Joshua’s impact was felt immediately. The transition from ceremony to reception was flawless. The moment our officiant exited, Joshua confidently stepped in with the microphone, warmly welcoming guests and setting the tone for the night ahead. He gave clear, polished directions for cocktail hour, built excitement for the evening, and made everyone feel like they were part of something special. It didn’t feel like announcements — it felt like hosting.
And that’s really the difference: Joshua is not just a DJ, he is an elite emcee and host. He made the entire night feel like a high-end gala. Guests repeatedly told us how VIP the experience felt and how incredible our emcee was. I couldn’t agree more.
One of the most meaningful and impactful details was his execution of walk-up music for each person giving a toast. This elevated every speaker and made each moment feel intentional and celebrated. For my mom’s walk-up, Joshua played “I Can’t Get No Satisfaction” by The Rolling Stones — my late father’s favorite song. That moment was deeply emotional and personal, and Joshua handled it with such care and thoughtfulness. He didn’t just press play — he honored the moment.
Visually and professionally, he also showed up fully aligned with our design. Our dress code was Shades of Love, and Joshua came dressed to the nines in a stunning merlot-colored suit that complemented our aesthetic beautifully. His DJ team matched the same level of polish, and the overall presence added to the elevated atmosphere of the night.
And when it came time for the reception? The dance floor was alive. We specifically requested 2000s R&B all night, and Joshua delivered perfectly. The energy never dipped. The transitions were smooth, the pacing was spot-on, and the floor stayed moving. He seamlessly balanced being on the mic as a host while also getting on the mixer himself and reading the room like a true professional.
From a bride’s perspective, from a planner’s perspective, from a design-forward perspective, and from an industry expert’s perspective — Joshua is exceptional.
I recommend Music by J Fields without hesitation. If you want your event to feel elevated, intentional, seamless, and unforgettable, hire Joshua.
From our very first call with Joshua, we knew we wanted him to be our DJ/MC for our wedding! His energy, personality, and passion immediately stood out to us and we just knew he wo...
uld be the perfect fit for our day.
He brought such an incredible energy to our wedding. Joshua is truly a natural at what he does. He knows how to read the room, connect with the crowd, and keep the energy going. So many of our guests commented on how much they loved our DJ/MC.
We truly couldn’t have asked for a better person to help make our wedding so memorable. If you’re looking for a DJ/MC who will keep your guests entertained and your dance floor poppin, we can’t recommend him enough!
Hiring Joshua was one of the best decisions we made! We definitely could've gotten any DJ for cheaper but, as they say, you get what you pay for. Right from the beginning, Joshua t...
ook the time to understand us and what we were looking for. We had great communication with him throughout the process, which made it feel seamless. There was no last minute rush or pressure. Joshua was also extremely professional, arriving WAY ahead of schedule to scope the venue and have ample time for set up. We had an Indian fusion wedding and had a wide age range of guests that are special to us; even the bride & groom have a 10-year age gap and groove to different music. It was a tough crowd to say the least. Joshua's magic made it happen! We had so many friends who said goodbye to us but couldn't leave for another 5-10 songs cause the music was too good to stop dancing! We cannot thank him enough! Hire him already!
Josh is INCREDIBLE! He really kept us organized leading up to our wedding & ensured to deliver the type of day we envisioned— from our soft and romantic ceremony to our fun/ high e...
nergy reception. The best day of our lives completely elevated because of his expertise. This is the DJ you want. 🤍
Josh was an amazing DJ. He really wanted to get the essence of us as a couple and who our guests were going to be. I was an out of town bride and he made everything so seamless and...
easy that it didn’t feel like we met him on the day of our wedding. He kept the vibes high and everyone dancing. Thanks Josh for proving an amazing experience!
I can’t say enough positive things about Joshua and his assistant Danny. I may be biased since it was my wedding, but I’ve been to a LOT of weddings and they were the best DJs I’ve...
encountered by far. They interacted with our guests the perfect amount, kept the dance party going until the very end, and were excellent emcees, making everything seamless. They actually mixed the songs together and didn’t just hit play on a playlist, which we loved. We rated our guests a 7/10 on the dance floor before the wedding, but after Joshua and Danny worked their magic, we are upping that to a 10/10. Our wedding was so much fun and Joshua and Danny were a big part of that!
We cannot recommend Joshua enough! He was so kind and professional and truly adding something special to our wedding day. First of all, this man dresses to perfection - something t...
hat we really appreciated as it added to his professionalism and vibe for the day. Second of all, he was extremely detailed leading up to the wedding with multiple check in conversations and tons of questions to help give him guidance as to what we were looking for.
We had multiple people come up to us throughout the wedding to compliment how good he was and he brought so much fun to our dance floor at the end of the night. We can't recommend him enough!!
My (now) wife and I were introduced to Joshua via a mutual connection. Our biggest wish going into our wedding was to have a great time dancing with all of our family and friends -...
however one of our biggest concerns was my partner and I's music taste, and how most of our daily songs aren't 'dancing' music. From the moment we met Joshua via our intro call, we felt confident that he was going to be the DJ for us - he was prepared and professional, he had access to all the right equipment, and had the ability to adapt on the fly to whatever came his way (even with last minute MC additions my wife and I made 24 hours before our wedding). Beyond the planning sessions, where Joshua helped build up our confidence in our music selections while also including his professional recommendations - on the day of the wedding he showed up early to setup his equipment, and to confirm any last minute changes that we had made. After the ceremony and speeches, he got the dance floor absolutely popping off! (I wish I could share some photos here).
10/10 would recommend, absolutely worth every dollar, and we are so happy we were able to include Joshua on my wife and I's special day. Thank you so much!!
We had the absolute best experience with our wedding DJ, Josh. From the very first conversation, he was incredibly friendly, communicative, and easy to work with. He took the time ...
to understand our style, our timeline, and the type of energy we wanted throughout the day, which made us feel completely at ease leading up to the wedding.
His setup and breakdown were extremely professional and impressively timely — he arrived early, coordinated seamlessly with our other vendors, and made sure everything ran smoothly without us having to worry about a single thing. Throughout the night, he was a huge help with all of our announcements and kept the flow of the reception effortless and organized.
Most importantly, our guests had an amazing time. We received so many compliments about the music and the overall vibe of the evening, and that’s all thanks to Josh’s ability to read the room and keep the dance floor full. He balanced our requests perfectly with what kept the crowd excited and engaged.
If you’re looking for a DJ who is professional, personable, and truly dedicated to making your wedding unforgettable, Josh is the one. We’re so grateful he was a part of our day.
We couldn’t have asked for a better DJ for our wedding! Joshua perfectly curated the energy throughout the entire day, from the ceremony to cocktail hour to the dance floor. He rea...
d the crowd effortlessly and kept the vibe exactly where we wanted it all night long. He even went above and beyond to help ensure our friend could perform our first dance song live, which made the moment even more special.
Beyond his incredible music and coordination, Joshua’s setup looked amazing! Top-quality sound, a clean and aesthetic design, and beautiful uplighting that elevated the entire atmosphere. He was also so easy to work with: professional, responsive, and genuinely invested in making our day unforgettable. We can’t recommend him enough!
Joshua was the DJ for my wedding on September 19, 2025. HIGHLY recommend. We were feeling uninspired about music and didn't give him much to go off of; despite that, he truly naile...
d it the whole night and created such a good vibe throughout. My husband also commented on how great his equipment was.
Josh was the DJ for our wedding, and I can’t put into words how amazing he was! We chatted a handful of times prior to the wedding day to discuss what we were looking for, song cho...
ices, must plays, and please do not plays. He did not miss a beat! As soon as cocktail hour started and Josh started playing music not specifically requested by me, my husband and I knew we made the right choice for our DJ. Every single song he played throughout the night was perfect. The music he chose really set the vibes we wanted for pre-ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, and dancing. He stayed and let us dance verryyyy late into the night. He also was a fantastic emcee and kept the night going in a smooth and timely manner. It was very important to my husband and I that we had a great DJ because we love to dance & party with our friends, and Josh was 100% the right choice! We had multiple guests mention how fantastic he was. I HIGHLY recommend him! If/when we have a need for a DJ in the future, he will be my first call.

ng from one element to the next. We especially loved how Joshua took a script I drafted for the wedding party entrance (think basketball starting lineup entrance) and how he took it to the next level to make our bridesmaids and groomsmen feel so special. In addition, Joshua played a key role in helping keep my piano performance a surprise for my husband, a memory we will always cherish. We highly recommend hiring Joshua for your next wedding or event.
Josh was amazing! Since attending another wedding he played at, we instantly knew we needed him for ours. He understood the vibes and kept the party going all night. We had so many...

ality, which we noticed from our first meeting. There are many examples of Joshua going above and beyond from creating personalized song mixes, to energetic MC dialogue and most importantly being a catalyst to a party of a lifetime - which people continue to give compliments on. He made everyone feel like family and would strongly recommend to anyone if you want a memorable wedding/event!

Stop your search - Joshua is the best wedding DJ in Seattle! We couldn’t be happier with our decision to have Joshua DJ our wedding. His expertise, professionalism, and infectious ...
energy kept us and our guests dancing all night! I literally didn’t leave the dance floor for more than 10 minutes over the 3 hours of our reception because he kept playing bangers!
Could NOT reccomend Joshua enough!!! I’m not kidding when people didn’t leave the dance floor the whole night!!! Every song choosen made you not want to leave the dance floor!!
Like many before us, our wedding was taken to the next level with the J. Fields experience. We booked Joshua well in advance of our July 2024 wedding because we knew it would be co...
mpetitive to get him in peak wedding season! Our wedding was at Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle - a venue he has done many times. He worked with us in the months before to craft the best music for both the cocktail hour and the reception. I was unable to secure a lighting coordinator but luckily he has hookups in the industry and was able to rent some lights to make the venue look cozy.
One of my biggest fears was that no one would hit the dance floor - I received helpful guidance on how to keep the party going through the night. He did a great job of sequencing good songs that would appeal to all generations. At the end of the night our issue was getting my family off the dance floor! We had one small snafu with the sound during the ceremony. We couldn't hear our officiant at first and then it was difficult to hear our vows. Joshua gave us a profuse apology after the event. Weddings are very stressful and his professional management of the situation was appreciated. I would advise any couple (whether they are with Joshua or not) to consider what mic system they will use for their ceremony and how that mic might be passed back and forth for vows.
We value good music and were particular about what sounds we did (and did not) want to hear. Joshua accommodated that well and took our notes to craft an incredible night. Book him!
Joshua Fields is hands down the best DJ you can find to do your wedding. He carries a confident swagger but makes you and your guests feel at ease with his humility and kindness th...
at just emanated from his energy and vibe.
I didn’t read many reviews prior to booking him but could tell from his website, photos, and brief comments that he was the right choice for our wedding and boy was I right!!
He’s a gifted emcee and DJ. His timing was impeccable, at transition from ceremony to cocktail hour the weather changed from sprinkling rain to sunshine and he played the song “Change in the Weather” by Chris August which was absolutely perfect.
On the dance floor he kept the energy flowing THE ENTIRE time. It was the hardest I had ever danced in my life, I was sore for 3 days after the wedding. He’s an artist through and through. Also was able to accommodate a wide variety of musical tastes from Bay Area rap to Shaboozey, to 80’s pop, and everything in between.
If you can get Joshua Fields to DJ your wedding, consider yourselves the luckiest couple around.

ple not to take photos during the wedding, he created the perfect blend of music for our cocktail hour, and we loved how the music on the dance floor kept all ages engaged! Months later we are still hearing from guests how great our DJ was! He was one of our best decisions!

ption and will put all your worries at ease. He checked in with me during the ceremony to make sure the timeline was going well. He knew how to read our crowd to give us the most epic dance party that our guests are still talking about days after the wedding. Hands down this will be your best decision if you book with Joshua Fields!

e on what we were hoping for during our special day (I just knew I wanted to dance!), but he took that flexibility and ran with it perfectly. We had guests commenting on his music even before the ceremony started, through cocktail hour and dinner, and definitely at night when he kept us dancing for hours! We honestly cannot recommend him enough, especially if you're like us and feeling a little uncertain with wedding planning or overwhelmed with all the details. Hire Joshua now and feel assured you're in the best hands. We can't thank you enough, Joshua!!

rom the dancefloor, and simply went off the vibes. The guests loved him, and I even had a friend that is engaged ask for his info because of how well he did at our wedding. Don't hesitate to book him! You will not be disappointed at all. Not only was he our DJ, but he was also our MC as well and had everyone laughing. Will definitely be booking him again for future events.

rienced at a wedding. Joshua was so patient with us in the planning process and provided excellent suggestions that fit the exact vibe for our multi-cultural 200 guest wedding. We had countless compliments from our guests about Joshua and we are so happy he was apart of making our special day unforgettable. Thank you, Joshua!!!!
Joshua is professional, communicative, kept the part going (many of our guests have since commented on how great our DJ was), and seems like a truly great guy.
The best! A great DJ who played the best hits. He had wonderful communication and was fantastic to work with. Highly recommend.
Joshua is the BEST!!
We had Joshua as our DJ/MC for our wedding day and cannot say enough good things about him. He really kept the party going and all our guests loved the music ...
and had such a great time dancing. We gave him a specific playlist for the early part of the day and let Joshua do his thing for the dancing later part of the night. He picked the best songs, really vibed with the crowd, wore the most awesome pink suit and just happened to match our floral arrangement great and we'd 110% recommend him for any wedding!! Joshua was the best and we had a great time getting the party going with him and keeping it up all night.
Joshua was an amazing DJ for our recent wedding in October at Kiana Lodge just outside of Seattle. This was our 4th rescheduling of our date due to Covid and our previous DJ couldn...
’t make our new date so we were really looking for someone who was worth the wait. We then found Joshua based on some great reviews and he was able to take on the job like a star. Looking back on our wedding, we feel like it was meant to be that Joshua was our DJ. He did a great job running the entire event. We had a fun schtick where we made tables play Rock Paper Scissors to see who could hit the buffet line first, and Joshua couldn’t have been a better emcee for that. He was personable, funny, and an all around excellent host. His dinner music playlist was so on point and matched exactly the type of music we love and all we did was supply him with a dozen artists we loved. A wedding guest even texted me during dinner that the playlist was fire. And all this was before we hit the dance floor for the most fun and epic wedding dance party I can remember (granted I’m slightly biased). Joshua played a terrific mix of wedding hits, rap, EDM, rock, etc. There was something for everyone. He brings great sound, energy, and just an overall magical vibe that perfectly matched our intimate event. I would highly recommend Joshua to anyone looking for a wedding DJ or DJ for really any event.
Joshua brought the best music and vibe to our wedding from before the guests were seated until the very very end! He emceed the wedding with a calm vibe while directing our guests ...
and introducing the speeches.
Our dance floor stayed poppin all night and we danced the whole time. Our guests kept telling us how much they loved the music selection, Joshua read the room perfectly! We had everyone of all ages on the dance floor throughout the night.
Joshua Fields is by far the best DJ in the Greater Seattle Area! My (now) husband and I hired Music by J. Fields for our July 2022 wedding at AXIS Pioneer Square in Downtown Seattl...
e. From the beginning, Joshua was kind, inclusive, thoughtful, and energetic - it was clear our day was about to be a high-energy and memorable celebration. And it definitely was! Leading up to the wedding, Joshua provided his expertise to help us select music that represented us as a couple while also celebrating our guests and their music tastes. Let’s just say - mission accomplished! On the wedding day itself, Joshua provided MC and DJ services, working with our coordinator and string quartet to ensure our ceremony was seamless and our reception was entertaining. We loved how Joshua built excitement throughout the evening, so much so, that our guests were so eager to get out on the dance floor after dinner! It was such a vibrant and spirited celebration thanks to Joshua. Music by J. Fields isn’t just another DJ company, it’s a company that cares for its clients, knows how to engage your guests, and provides an experience that no one will ever forget. We highly recommend hiring Joshua Fields/Music by J. Fields for any and all of your events. You truly won’t be disappointed!
We weren’t sure we had much of a dancing crowd. Josh got there and kept every single person on the dance floor and loving the party. Also he was zero stress to work with.
TL:DR - if you need a DJ/MC, do yourself a favor and hire Joshua.
This man is the greatest. He DJ'd the shit out of our wedding and really took his role as vibe patrol very serio...
usly. His energy was amazing, his song selections were right in line with our musical taste, and the dance party was nothing short of bangin'. He is a guy you wished was in your friend circle, and he will be my first call any time we need some musical assistance at an event.
I also REALLY appreciated him not only taking the time to priovide us a musical schedule/selection template weeks before the event, but also taking time to meet with us beforehand to talk through it and give us tips. He suggested some brilliant changes of direction on some of our musical selections, and it ended up SO much better than our original plan.
Joshua, thank you for making our special day one that we will never forget!!!
We got married on 9/3/22 and Joshua was our DJ. He was recommended by our wedding planner and it was a perfect match. Joshua was very easy to work with, and overall made us comfort...
able and confident during our ceremony and reception. I gave him a blueprint of who we were, what we liked, and he ran with it. I can confidently say it was the best wedding dance party I have been to. His ability to adapt the music based on crowd reaction was amazing. My only complaint is the venue kicked us out at 10pm, I wanted to keep dancing until the sun came up!
I recommend Joshua to any couple looking to get married, celebrate a birthday, etc. Your guests will thank you.

We are so glad we decided on Joshua to DJ for our wedding. He was flexible and available for our zoom meeting calls, he listens very well, and gives great suggestions when needed. ...
He's very personable and professional. Our guests loved him too. It was great to get on the dance floor and hear our songs we picked.

talk about how great our DJ was at our wedding and we’re so glad we went with Joshua Fields for our special night!
It’s not a party until Josh arrives.
Josh set the vibe for our wedding from pre-party, the sound/mics for the ceremony and reception toasts, and the best dance party. We actually...
extended the party by 2 more hours, the venue had to shut us down because we were having so much fun dancing.
For a very different kinda of party, Josh also ran sound and music for a family member’s celebration of life. The building lost power due to a storm, but some how he worked through it and filled the room with music and ran a slideshow.
Plus Josh is just an awesome human.
Look no further, you found your DJ!
Joshua was thoughtful, timely, creative, funny, intuitive and just plain good!
