Music Connection

We used Jesse Galvan as our DJ for our wedding Nov 26, 2016. He made a ton of errors during the reception. I sent him the list of all our music 2 weeks prior to the wedding and he responded saying he had everything ready a week before the wedding. However, he played the wrong entrance song for our bridal party he was playing our first dance- he had to change the music half way thorough, we had another song to play for just the bride and groom entrance that was skipped all together. Our first dance song froze in the middle and he replayed it from the beginning just to have the same freeze. When it was time for the bouquet toss I had to remind him to play the song I choose. I really wish I had gone with another DJ.

Jesse was very responsive and reassuring throughout the process. He was accommodating to my budget and a pleasure to work with. The day off, everything went great and everyone had a great time! I wish the DJ the day of the event had played a little more of the songs I gave him, but people danced all the time which means the DJ did a great job :)

Jesse Galvan is the owner. He sent us RJ the DJ. I will admit at first we were worried because seemed very old school with their CD's, but RJ turned out to be a hit.

Let me start by saying that our guests and we had a great time at the reception! The majority of the night the dance floor was full of people dancing, which is exactly what I wanted. Now, I'd like to give a few more details, some good and some not ideal, for any brides considering using them for DJ services. First, our officiant was supposed to be provided with a lapel mic. However, he was given a handheld mic. So many of our guests commented that they could not hear what was happening. I provided a list of songs that I'd like played at our receptions as a guideline and in that list included a DO NOT PLAY list. I did, however, also state that guests could make requests as long as they didn't conflict with the Do Not Play list (but that I trusted the DJ to use his professional judgment). I only mention this detail because a few of the songs on my Do Not Play list were played at the request of guests. They're not my favorites which is why I put them on that list, but my guests clearly enjoyed them and all danced to them. So technically it was fine. For our reception intro song, I had a 1st choice song and a 2nd choice song. I told the company that I'd prefer my first choice if they could lower the volume of the vocals during the chorus, and if not to use the 2nd choice song. I never heard back and so I assumed they would be able to make my 1st song choice happen. So during our intro I was caught a little off guard when I heard the 2nd choice song only because I was expecting the 1st one. It wasn't a big deal, but a quick response to let me know they'd have to use my 2nd choice would have been nice. I think I counted a total of 2 slow songs that were played. I thought that was kind of weird. Then, at one point at the request of some of my guests, I asked the DJ to play some more current songs. The song he chose next? Beyonce's Drunk in Love....not exactly what I had in mind and definitely not appropriate for a wedding. I asked him to quickly find a new song. If you're very particular about music, then I suggest making sure your DJ knows so there are no surprises. Other than those few things, everyone really did have a great time, and everyone for the most part seemed to really enjoy the music.
