We could not recommend Isaac and Music In Tahoe more strongly. We heard from a number of our guests that our wedding was the most fun wedding that they had been to, and this was in no small part due to Isaac. We were getting compliments on the ...playlist all night. Isaac’s performance as a guitarist was beautiful, and added a great ambience to our ceremony and cocktail party. Isaac also helped mic the ceremony, which was a gigantic help. Isaac’s energy and song selection as a DJ made our wedding truly special. We are still glowing off of the experience weeks later.
For the ceremony and cocktail hour (guitar): Isaac gave us a selection of songs that he knew on the guitar and offered to learn a few additional song requests. We had Isaac learn two songs, but mostly stuck with his recommendations. Isaac did a great job with our requests. His playing was beautiful, and added the live music atmosphere (something very important to us) to our ceremony. In addition, he helped make sure the sound was great for our Aunt to play a guitar solo and sing during our ceremony, which was a really special moment that wouldn’t have been possible without his help.
For the dance party / playlist: Isaac gave us an excel spreadsheet with 25-30 request slots and 5-10 “do not play” requests. After we submitted our requests, Isaac had a 30 minute call with us to discuss the vibe that we were going for and ran with it from there.
One thing to note: our requests were fairly unusual, and while we had a couple classic 80s songs, we largely submitted late-90s / early 2000s rock hits (think Blink 182 and The Offspring), with a couple more obscure songs that were just for us. That is to say, we did not give Isaac an easy job. But Isaac hit it out of the park. He understood what we were going for immediately. He did a brilliant job with the playlist and interspersing our song selections with classic wedding selections, including some custom remixes of classic songs to merge them more with the vibe. He even found a spot for “Friday Forever” by Trophy Eyes, which gave us a sort of feature dance towards the end of the night. (To evergreen this review once this song receives the mainstream success that it is destined for, this was one of our more obscure choices btw). You could tell that he had a ton of fun customizing the playlist to land at what was a great combination of our song selections and the classics, which Isaac mixed together wonderfully. Ultimately, it felt like “us”.
Isaac’s personality, energy, and charisma lent that next level of charm to the wedding. Some of our guests (groom included) often feel uncomfortable at wedding dances, but that simply wasn’t the case here. Several people remarked on the fact that they saw people who never dance period dancing the whole night at our wedding.
