Music Makes You Happy Entertainment

lanning at the start. He did so many things he didn’t have to do on our wedding day. All day, he checked in multiple times with the groom & I to make sure we were okay. The ceremony music was perfect, the mics he sets up for the officiant worked perfectly. During family and bridal party photos after the ceremony, he brought out cocktail hour food for us and family & friends to have since he knew we wouldn’t be able to attend cocktail hour due to photos. He also brought the groom & I out a drink each to have during photos. Before the reception walkout, he puts everyone in line of the correct order that was given to him and double checks with the groom & I to make sure the line up is correct for introducing. He also went around and helped the bartenders pour champagne into glasses during dinner time for the toasts! Seriously, Chris went above and beyond and exceeded our expectations, I’ve never seen a DJ be so involved in a wedding like Chris was. I had many of my guests tell me throughout the night and after the night was over about how amazing our DJ was and asked who he was so they could use him for future events. I recommend Chris with music makes you happy for the most perfect night!

ter time!

e time to understand what kind of atmosphere we wanted for our wedding. The dance floor was full the entire evening, and so many of our guests told us how much fun they had!

ing/matching our (bride/grooms) vibes. He consistently went out of his way to do things for the groom and I (even running to hold my veil for a photo when we needed a tall person, and always asking us if we needed anything/bringing us said things after much insisting he didn't have to!) Chris is..the best. The entire wedding was a blast thanks to him. He was crazy helpful, mastered the music perfectly, and we cannot believe how lucky we were to have gotten to work with him!!

en a dance floor with so many people and the music played was exactly what we asked for, and it drew everyone from all ages out on the floor for a full night of dancing and celebrating!

nted to hear or didn't want to hear. He kept the music going all night and really was an artist up there all night. We would highly recommend!

nks for my husband and me, and even held my bouquet so I could make it upstairs— above and beyond doesn’t even begin to cover it! He played a baseball-themed song to close out the best man speech that had touched on my husband’s little league days. It was such a fun and creative touch! His music choices and energy were perfect, and I’m so glad we had DJ Chris at our wedding!

. He showed with his family, which his daughter was left running the DJ booth at times. Would take frequent smoke breaks and was even seen getting a drink from the bar at one point. He would also leave the booth to promote himself to my cousin who is getting married. He put the DJ booth right on the dance floor which it was discussed he had space next to it. He messed up our photo dash we had planned. We wanted to take a pic with each table and he went out of order which then he seemed to forget which ones he called so he called 6 tables up at once. He also wanted to end earlier (9:15) than discussed and a friend had him pull up the itinerary to check, which showed he was incorrect (suppose to end at 9:50.) wouldn’t skip songs when asked either. Overall very unprofessional behavior and disappointed in him. It didn’t ruin our day but is definitely a regret we have about it.

ht absolutely magical and so memorable!

all night. He went above and beyond on multiple occasions - my dad referenced a song in his FOB speech, and Chris played it at the end of the speech while everyone was clapping. He did the most fun anniversary dance I've seen and asked the longest-married couples for marriage advice, which was so funny and sweet. He also checked on me throughout the reception to make sure I was having fun and didn't need anything. I made a last minute change to the order of speeches (by last minute, I mean literally a minute before they happened) and he just rolled with it like it was planned that way the whole time. It was really important to me that people wanted to dance, and we actually had to move tables out of the way to make room for everyone on the dance floor - so I'd say mission accomplished. Would recommend him to anyone!

ience all around. They were even able to accommodate my late request for a photo booth when my diy one was not working properly. If you're looking for the best around, you've found them!!

on the dance floor. His music selections were spot-on, and he created smooth transitions that kept everyone dancing all night long! During our ceremony, Chris made sure the audio was perfect so our guests could hear every word. He was also very responsive and answered all our questions throughout the planning process, which put us at ease. We highly recommend Music Makes You Happy Entertainment! Thanks to Chris, we couldn't stop dancing and could have kept going all night!

of the wedding planning process, I was stressed out so he gave me a call, and I felt a huge sense of relief afterwards. During the wedding his song transitions were perfect and the music he selected could not have been better. He did such a great job making this day so perfect.

nd was accommodating to our preferences, as well as our guests! The dance floor was never empty.

ever once made me feel pressured into making a decision and gave me time to think about everything we talked about. The day of the wedding he was wonderful, everyone loved him! He was attentive, introduced himself to the guests and listened to what guests were saying! Right after our ceremony he offered to get us and our bridal party drinks and then proceeded to make sure we always had something, even food! Chris went above and beyond and made sure our family and friends were having a good time! When it came time for speeches he was great with turning off a mic and letting my nephew “talk” into it so his mom could get through her speech! He made our night memorable and I truly would not recommend anyone else! Chris and his team are fantastic!

eat job with announcing and with our ceremony music. Alan even went out of his way to make sure my husband and I were having fun and offered to get us drinks when we were running low. We also had a Photo Booth that people LOVED! If you are considering hiring them do it you won’t regret it! I also want to say communication was flawless!

hing went smooth the day of. I had previously been to two weddings that Chris DJ’d and my (now) husband and I were set on having MMYH as our DJ after the very first time we attended a wedding that they did. Chris did a super job at connecting with the crowd and playing the right songs to get everyone on the dance floor. I would highly recommend hiring MMYH for your event!

party that had my best man and my grandma grooving, he emcee'd the whole event. He checked in multiple times throughout the hours leading up to the ceremony to make sure everything was going smoothly. The question I got asked the most throughout the whole wedding day was "Where did you find this DJ?" quickly followed by a "He will be DJ'ing our wedding!" I can't recommend Chris and Music Makes You Happy enough. From getting their quote to the last song played on wedding day, our experience was incredible. Do you want a wedding experience that you and your guests won't forget? Book Chris with Music Makes You Happy!

e and very experienced - our DJ Ricky Perry met with us over the phone to review the plan, and had even been to our venue before, which helped a lot. Outdoor to indoor, ceremony to reception went without a hitch. He even helped with our choreographed first dance! Ricky kept the dance floor PACKED!!! Every guest told us afterwards that it was the most fun wedding they had ever been to, and a large part of that is thanks to this company! Highly recommend 100x over!

s for his great music selection. 10/10 would recommend!

efinitely recommend this DJ company!

im 10000000x over again!!

ccasion your life.

have used you all for our wedding. You guys were truly on point, interactive, fun, and completely organized. I had never seen a wedding run so smoothly, yet with so much thrown at us. The smile you kept on truly helped me keep my composure and made the day run seemingly effortless. Just want to say to please never stop doing what you do or how you do it. It was truly a blessing.

he flow of events throughout the day. He worked really well with our other vendors and made our wedding absolutely unforgettable. We owe Chris and his assistant a debt of gratitude. We had planned for one of our guests to record the ceremony from our phone and Chris's assistant offered to do it for us. I haven't stopped watching that video since the day we got married. If you haven't already, hire MMYH immediately!

better than we expected at our own wedding. Communication was seamless from the start, and on top of the easy to use portals for curating playlists, he is so kind and thoughtful which added such a personal touch to our wedding. Chris went above and beyond to make sure that we were taken care of all night, and he was constantly checking on our bridal party and family members as well to make sure that we had everything we needed! Even our parents commented on how great Chris was at attending to all the guests needs. He kept the dance floor hopping, and our guests are still raving about it. We highly recommend Chris to anyone in the Hampton Roads area and we wouldn’t have wanted anyone else to DJ our wedding!

e and confident throughout the entire planning process. Shane was our DJ for the day of our wedding, and he was so much fun! We had three surprise choreographed dances throughout our wedding day and he managed to keep them all straight, flowing AND keep them secret! He also kept up with our multi-music walks up and down the aisle with ease. On top of everything, he kept the guests engaged and kept them DANCING! We had over 40 people on our little dance floor for a good portion of the night and everyone continued to tell us how much fun they had on the dance floor and in the photobooth (also provided by MMYH). All in all, our day was perfect, and Music Makes You Happy played a major part in that.

into consideration, which included: a dollar dance and a wedding mosh pit. Nearly all of our guests were up and dancing for the duration of the reception and every song he played for us was spot on to our tastes. He was able to even pull up and play songs that may not have been easy to find, just to be sure we had everything we wanted. I highly recommending hiring Music Makes You Happy Entertainment of you are in the VA Beach area and looking for the perfect DJ.

ay and how seamlessly he announced things throughout the night. Chris was wonderful and we would highly recommend.

care of all night. He kept everyone on the dance floor the whole night. I highly recommend him as your DJ!

't even need a planner or day of coordinator!!! The planning program was so easy to use and made is so easy to make our requests. I am telling everyone I know to use this company

l night, and are still texting us about how awesome the music was. Alan also brought a full Photo Booth set up, and it exceeded my expectations. I cannot shout this from a high enough mountain top, hire Music Makes you Happy Entertainment for your event NOW!

ither and she suggested MMYH. After speaking with them and looking at their packages again, I went with them and chose their All Nighter Package. It included up lights and a photo booth. Throughout the whole process, they made it super easy with their questionnaires. Our family and friends love to party so an amazing DJ was a must have. MMYH did not disappoint. Mike Dodson was our DJ and amazing to have as a part of my vendor team.

e is super friendly and has a very calm demeanor. He came up to us occasionally throughout the night to ask questions as things came up, but it always seemed to be at all the right times. He even made sure that our drinks were filled during cocktail hour and taking pictures. He was really good with the crowd and made adjustments as needed. He came up and asked me if the anniversary song dance could be changed because an older couple requested it. The guests commented on how great the music was! Overall, 10/10 for me!

dible atmosphere! He was super very reassuring when we thought our wedding was going to be hurricaned out! Our guests are still talking about how amazing he was!!! I could not recommend him enough!

elpful and hilarious! On our big day he went through everything with me to make sure I knew what was happening and that we were on the same page. He stepped in to help dig up the bourbon (we COULD NOT find it lol!), he was making sure we had drinks the whole night, his timing and execution of everything was perfect. On top of the fact that him and Mike (we got a surprise that both Mike and Chris were going to DJ!) are phenomenal DJs and can read a room like nothing else. They made our reception SO FUN!! We were dancing all night. I cannot say enough wonderful things about Chris and Mike. They truly care about people and went above and beyond to make our day so so special!! WE LOVE YOU CHRIS AND MIKE!! Love, The Pizanies :]

out the entire process.

lso was able to read the room and choose music that had everyone on the dance floor. The music transition for our ceremonies was so smooth and went exactly as planned. What I really appreciated about Mike was the communication leading up to our wedding day. There were questionnaires, an online music portal, and phone calls made to ensure that our vision would come to life. You can tell that Mike cares about his clients and only produces the best work. Highly recommend this company!!!!!

nk of choice. He always made sure we had a drink in our hand and we absolutely loved this because neither of us had time to run to the bar for a drink and thanks to Chris we did not need to. Chris was on top of everything I had asked of him even with a few last minute changes, he nailed it. From smooth transitions before the grand entrance to the dances to the speeches. Chris also has an infectious energy about him. I received so many compliments from my guests about Chris. Chris was easy to work with from the start when my husband and I first reached out. We knew right away we wanted to work with him just off of our initial phone conversation. Also the system he uses to help his couples select the music playlists and do not playlist is easy and not time consuming at all. Chris kept the party going from start to finish! We loved how he made sure we were on the dance floor before he played our favorite songs. Chris is fun and energetic and everything we hoped we’d have in a deejay. We will always recommend Chris Rice and Music Makes You Happy.

, we were giving access to questionnaires and a music portal to add song requests. All bases were covered and we had no worries going into our big day. Chris was professional, a great speaker, interacted and engaged our crowd, and even took care of our guests by bringing them drinks during cocktail hour. He could read the room and the music choices were on-point for our rowdy group. The sound systems were a such good quality and they worked so well with our other vendors to set everything up. YOU CAN'T GO WRONG WITH CHOOSING MUSIC MAKES YOU HAPPY!

sking us if we needed anything to eat or drink. He stayed by our side the entire wedding and went above and beyond.

ght! He also made sure to check in with the two of us throughout the night to get us drinks, snacks, etc. He was very personable and caring, which made me as a bride feel well looked after! He is fun, genuine, and made sure our night was one to remember!!
