Music Unlimited, Steve in particular, was absolutely awesome. Very professional and he played the perfect music…from the prelude to the last dance of the evening. His attention to detail was exceptional…made the entire evening run flawlessly. The guests were fully engaged from the opening dance to the last dance. Music was outstanding and many of the guests raved about it. While the bride and groom may have selected the type of music they wanted played, Steve selected the songs…he nailed it. Steven was very patient working with me as I was often difficult to get in touch with due to work and travel. He was kind and prompt with information that I needed. We got married on 7/20/24 and had Steve as our DJ. He was amazing!!! He was very communicative and knew what he was doing. Within two weeks leading up to the wedding, we called twice with one another. During those calls he made sure he was pronouncing everyone's names correctly, that we were on the same page about how the day would go, and we discussed the music we wanted to hear on our special day. They also have a "planner" feature on their website that is very convenient and easy to use. The dance floor was PACKED ever since he started playing music and stayed that way until the very last song. We had so much fun and he played everything we wanted to hear. We even had an issue during the dinner part of our reception, and Steve was so kind, calm, and communicative during that delay. We appreciate him so much for that. We definitely recommend having Steve as your DJ!

Steve was an out of this world DJ! He really elevated my wedding and night with his dedication to making every aspect of his role the best it could be! From the music details, to his transitions and announcing skills, to grand entrance execution, and reading the crowd on the timing of music throughout the night. The party lights he provides is an amazing touch as well to any space. He was very well priced to fit our wedding budget. His process for communication was seamless and easy to get organized from the first and last day you work with him. Very professional, on time, took the time to know how to pronounce all of the bridal parties name. My daughter who is 8 wanted to do our prayer before dinner and he hyped her up a bit so she wouldn't be nervous by telling her she was going to do awesome, and she did! I would highly recommend them. Steve was a great dj and made our day complete!! I even completely forgot to confirm the microphone situation as our venue doesn’t provide that, and luckily he was there right before the ceremony and was able to last minute save the day and set up his mic outside. Steve was exactly what we needed from a DJ and was worth every penny we gave him (and we were considering trying to DJ our own wedding...). When looking for photographers it's easy to look through a few pictures to get a feel for their style but it's much harder to do that with a DJ so we tried having a quick chat before signing. The first potential DJ we talked to seemed to put more effort into telling us that it would be better not to do things the way we wanted to but Steve immediately starting thinking about how he could give us what we wanted and keep our guests entertained. He had a form for us to fill out so that we could list our order of events, announcements, DO play and DO NOT play lists. He called us a few weeks before the ceremony to make sure that he had all of the details right and it was clear that he had gone through our list of 50+ must play songs and listened to any that he didn't already recognize. He even set up inside to play music for our cocktail hour and then moved his setup outside for after-dinner dancing. He kept our event moving at the right pace, got everyone to pay attention to the important things, had no problem skipping wedding traditions that we wanted to avoid, played all of our 50+ requests, mixed in crowd pleasers that revived the dance floor when some of our requests fell a bit flat, and worked in guest requests without playing anything we didn't want to hear. Everything flowed very smoothly and he was great at balancing when to check with us to make sure he got things right and when to make his own decisions to avoid constantly nagging us on our already busy day. We would absolutely recommend Steve to any friend.

My husband and I would highly recommend working with Steve for your wedding. He was highly professional, he was super punctual, and he kept our dance floor full throughout our entire reception. We danced the night away to Steve's tunes, and we had an AMAZING time.

Working with Steve was great from the beginning. He made sure to go over every detail down to name pronunciations so everything would go off without a hitch. The reception went great and the dance floor was packed the entire night. Even though we opted to hand-pick every song that played at our reception, Josh (DJ for the evening) did an excellent job working through our requested songs in an order that kept the party going while handling some last-minute requests and honoring our do-not-play list. I have attended two other weddings DJed by Music Unlimited that also went very well.

From the moment I first spoke to Steve, I knew I had found the right DJ for us. I was a covid bride and had to reschedule our wedding and Steve was wonderful through the whole process. Every time I sent an email to him or gave him a call, he made me feel like I was his most important client each and every time. He truly listens to his customers and takes their concerns and requests seriously. Steve also has a planner that he asks couples to fill out and it’s so thorough and helpful, it was wonderful and made planning so much easier! He is organized, punctual, and truly is just a wonderful person. By the time my wedding rolled around, I felt like he was an old friend, and I will always be grateful for his help and kindness during such a stressful time. I gave Steve a ‘do not play’ list and a ‘please play’ list, and he followed those perfectly and even was happy to let me make mix tape for our dinner music, which brought me so much joy on our wedding day! Steve was also very dedicated to pronouncing everyone’s name correctly in my wedding party, and some of them were not easy, but Steve got each and every one correct! There were a few last-minute changes to things and Steve rolled with them and took the stress out of the situation every time I had to bring a change up to him, again, we were so grateful. For example, my venue forgot to put out table numbers for him to dismiss tables for dinner, I felt awful and scrabbled to tell him and apologize for their oversight, Steve just smiled and said he was already handling it and would be dismissing tables by physically walking up to our guests and letting them know it was their turn. That kind of service and adaptability is unfortunately rare, and out of all of my vendors, Steve was the one that I just knew I could count on, and that is priceless on your wedding day. He kept people on the dance floor and even after our wedding, we heard from multiple people how great our music was! We also hired Steve for our photo booth, and we were not disappointed! The booth was awesome and spacious to fit in multiple people and there were so many wonderful props it was hard to choose! The book we received afterwards is something we will always cherish! I cannot recommend Music Unlimited, and all their services, highly enough. You will not regret hiring this company, they are so dedicated to making your vision for your wedding day a reality!

My husband and I just loved working with Music Unlimited for our wedding! Steve was fantastic to work with and very flexible if changes were needed. Our start time was 5pm, and when we arrived at 4:30, Steve was 100% fully setup and waiting for us. I approached Steve (I’m the father of the bride, responsible for the reception) and Steve had all of the notes we sent him, the playlist was ready, and he was totally prepared. The equipment was setup perfectly … The bridal party was running late, and as the father of the bride, I was getting nervous and worried for the guests – Steve assured me that as long as we have food, and drink – the guests are just fine, and you know what, they really were – so I really appreciate Steve helping to keep me calm. Apparently its pretty normal for the wedding party to arrive late. While we waiting for the wedding party to arrive, Steve and I made our rounds to make sure all of the guests who were going to speak understood how to use the wireless microphone, and to make sure they knew when they were going to speak, and in which order. Very organized, and proactive. Once the wedding party arrived, Steve introduced himself, instructed the party how to enter the room, in which order, and made sure there was no questions. Each couple had their own song to enter the room. My daughter Ashley was part of the wedding party, and she wanted ACDC Back in Black, … as she entered, the music intro started – there was just so much energy in the room. It was awesome! The dinner music was also great – some old classics with Frank Sinatra, and some orchestra music with the horns playing … very relaxing, and enjoyable. The night started just like it ended. Full dance floor!!! We did have 1 complaint. The complaint we had was that Steve wouldn’t let our guest leave the dance floor because he kept playing hit, after hit, after hit and just as one song ended, and our guests were planning to go rest and get a refreshment – next song was another dancer … all night the floor was packed. I was hearing that next time, Steve needs to bring big fans because they were so hot from the high energy and dancing. The playlist was top notch and just compliments all night long! I think my favorite, was Copperhead Road line dance – the boot stomping was awesome – the entire 2nd floor was shaking! Steve is a true gentleman, an experienced professional, an expert in this field, and a kind person. At the end of the night, Steve was just like family and we even departed with a hug – Steve was great and I honestly hope to meet Steve again, just to talk and spend time together. Great person, and the best DJ I’ve ever experienced! I didn’t mention value yet. You can’t beat Steve’s value – I would have paid much more for the experience he provided … Sincerely, Paul E. Steve was wonderful to work with! He was very prompt with answering any questions we had, and reached out to us several times before the wedding to make sure everything was correct that we had asked for. He is such a nice guy! He was a great MC, and the music he played kept our guest on the dance floor all night. I would highly recommend Music Unlimited!

For me, the DJ was the hardest vendor to book - so important, yet so hard to know which one to pick. I was so nervous! I am SO glad we went with Steve from Music Unlimited!! He was so great to work with - very organized, very knowledgeable and very flexible. He did such a great job keeping the event flowing, and keeping the dance floor packed! He also went above and beyond with a few things - I had asked him to help me create a mashup for the Father/Bride dance. He helped make our vision a reality for this, and it turned out great! We have gotten SO many compliments on our dance! My Dad also worked with Steve to set up some surprise things during his Father of the Bride speech on the day of, and Steve was great about making that all go smooth for my Dad as well. Steve was so friendly, great with communication, and made sure all the details were correct prior to the wedding. Liz was our DJ on the day of and she was fantastic!! Everyone loved her and so many people were out on the dance floor. We got so many compliments afterwards on how great our DJ was. DJ was amazing at communicating and advising what his plans were. So laid back and easy to work with, he was up beat and let me know when something was next and kept everything on schedule and played so many songs from our play list it was perfect!!! Photo booth was a hit!! She did such a good job with everything, the memory book was more the we expected and we absolutely love it! All her art work and comments on the pages made it so cute! We loved Music Unlimited, made our reception perfect!!

Steve was literally the best. He was super professional and knowledgeable. He was also super flexible with changes and was on top of communication. Our reception went perfectly, from name pronunciations, to the set lists, to event order. Beyond the details, he was a great MC and had the dance floor going to the end of the night!

Steve has been awesome to work with from the start. He made a trip to our venue months in advance to meet with the venue owner and make sure sound equipment would be able to be used at our difficulty to get to riverside ceremony site. He was so prepared and professional from planning through the event. The ceremony and reception music was perfect! We had a blast. I should also mention the photo booth attendant was wonderful. She did a great job and was so friendly!

Steve was absolutely amazing. We couldn’t have asked for someone so accommodating and fun to work with. I contacted Steve early in the morning a month before our wedding and we booked him later that afternoon. I’m the type of person that when I get a song in my head I want that played next, and Steve was more than accommodating to our requests as well as our guests song requests. There was never a moment where the dance floor was empty. Steve was also there to do our ceremony music. The songs were timed perfectly and were faded out and the perfect times. We we’re getting compliments all day long and days after our wedding on what a great DJ Steve was throughout the wedding day. There’s a reason Steve has so many reviews. Steve was amazing for our wedding! Our dance floor was packed the entire night! He was so in tune with what our guest wanted throughout the whole night. Steve did a beautiful job DJ'ing my daughters wedding and festivities during the reception. Music was of excellent quality and on time with no hiccups what so ever. The queuing of songs was seamless and the variety was excellent. He always communicated with me of when a certain event like the Welcome Speech was to begin ect. These were already planed ahead of time and went smoothly. Of coarse I was a bundle of nerves being the father of the bride and Steve made me feel at ease. Steve was absolutely great to work with - from the very beginning he was quick to respond to questions and was very detail-oriented (which I really, really appreciated as a type-A bride!) As the wedding approached, we had a call with Steve where he went over all of the details with us, made sure he knew how to pronounce everyone's names, and ensured that we were going to have the music choices that we wanted. The day before the wedding, he stayed in contact to make sure everything was all set and he was prepared (we moved our ceremony inside last minute due to the heat!) Throughout the whole process you could really tell that Steve truly cares about making his clients happy and getting it right. We were super happy with his work the day of the wedding and we were so glad we worked with him. Would recommend to everyone!

Steve was our wonderful DJ. He always kept in contact and made sure every song was what we wanted. When it came down to the big day Steve delivered. He knew when to cut the music and stuck to a timeline. I wasn't sure what I wanted besides what he said he needed back 2 weeks prior to the big day was important things like our first dance, parent dances, and all that type of stuff. I left all the filler stuff to him and it was perfect. He ran with little information besides that we wanted to be able to talk to each other without having to yell (since most weddings it's so loud all the time). He knew when to crank it up. We had so many complements. The guests loved the old school classics. Would very much reccomend.

We hired Steve and his assistant for their DJ and photo booth services for our wedding. From the start, working with Steve was easy. He was always quick to respond and patient to answer even the smallest questions. He provided all the necessary equipment and lights for the event. We answered a few questions on what kind of music we would like to be played at different parts of the night, but other than that, we let him do his own thing to get people out on the dance floor and it worked very well. They were able to quickly get almost everyone in attendance out on the dance floor and keep them there. We got compliments from many people saying how great of a job they were doing and how much fun they were having. The photo booth was also a great decision, they had a wide variety of props that made each picture feel creative and unique. At the end of the night we got a book full of all the pictures that people took. I can guarantee that if you pick Music Unlimited for your event, you and everyone there will not be able to stop talking about how much fun you had or how sore you felt the next day.

Music Unlimited DJs & Photobooths were fantastic! Steve called and we spoke for about an hour to plan out every detail for us. He was incredibly detail oriented and really went above and beyond for any last minute changes we had. I had unfortunately broken my foot 2 days before and just wasn't comfortable with doing a first dance with everyone watching me. When my husband explained this to him (literally 20 minutes before) he jumped into action and suggested we do an anniversary dance as our first dance which I was so much more content doing. He cared so much about how our night went and was so organized about everything. What a pleasure it was to work with Steve Thelen, and Music Unlimited DJs. From the beginning, when my fiancee and I felt it important to disclose up front that this would be a same sex wedding, we couldn't have asked for a better experience. I know we were highly-detailed Grooms with regards to our plans for the day. Steve was attentive to our every expectation, kept in regular communciation with us, and checked (and double-checked) details to make sure everything was as we wished. Also, DJ Josh collaborated very well with our Master of Cermonies for the different pieces of the evening. Though the reception is a bit of a blur to us, I can tell you that the dance floor was busy all evening! Great job!

Steve was always responsive and professional and helped us plan everything. If we had questions or concerns, he had answers. On top of that, we had multiple people tell us it was the best DJ'd wedding they've been to. He catered to custom requests and song choices to make it a special day. Our wedding was everything we could have ever hoped for, and a large part of that was thanks to Steve at Music Unlimited! He made the entire process of deciding what music to play a breeze. I am a very indecisive person to begin with, so it brought me major stress just having to think about each and every song I would want played. Steve made everything so easy from start to finish. He picked up on what both of our styles of music were, and gave suggestions from there. He suggested fantastic songs for the bridal party to walk down the isle to, as well as myself and cocktail music. I can't imagine the time that it would have spent for me to research all the songs to play for that portion of the day. He used his numerous years of experience and suggested the perfect songs. As for the reception, he kept the music flowing the entire night and I don't think we ever stopped dancing! I gave him a list of songs that my guests requested to hear, and I'm pretty sure he played every single one of them. Last minute I decided to have a special dance with my brother, and had no previous song picked out. I trusted him to pick the perfect song for us to dance to, and I don't think my brother and I had a dry eye the entire dance. Music unlimited was everything I could have ever hoped for a DJ for our wedding, and I am so glad that I stumbled upon his website. I would recommend him over and over again, so if you're in the Lansing area, I hope you search ends right here!

Steve was amazing. Extremely professional and always very quick to respond to our texts, emails, and calls. We felt so comfortable. Thank God we had Steve because our wedding would not have been so smooth without him. I mean that because we were very disappointed with our venue who were supposed to have an on-site coordinator to handle all the small issues/timelines. They were no where to be seen, but luckily Steve handled everything for us and set us at ease. The music was fantastic and our night flowed perfectly because of him.
