1 star for the fact the portal and up lighting were great. Otherwise the DJ was not. Gave them ~12 must play songs and the dj played them DURING DINNER or did not play them at all!! Transitions during ceremony were sloppy and unprofessional. Just cut from song to song. Spoke with Dan about preferring a certain DJ and that did not happen at all. We gave the DJ a giant list of songs to play and he went off on his own playing terrible music. (I even spoke with him early in the night to read the room!!) Overall not a good experience and do not recommend.
We had an excellent experience from initial contact all the way to the last song at our ceremony! MusicMasters/Dan and Sue are great to work with in getting our contract set up and walking us through the portal to start curating our custom playlist/timeline/etc. We also thoroughly enjoyed working with DJ Brent! He was attentive/responsive to our needs and adapted as needed to make sure everything moved smoothly. HIGHLY recommend!!
I had contacted Dan a year before our wedding and locked in our date- we were so glad we did! I was initially concerned with going through a bigger company and not getting to know our DJ personally first, but Dan assigned Justin to our event, I spoke with him a week before, and everything was smooth sailing. I had some unique requests and Justin honored all of them. The only hiccup with them was having to go through our timeline twice (once with Dan and once with Justin) and some things getting forgotten if I didn’t specify everything again- such as one of our wedding processional songs and the lighting preferences.
OH MY GOODNESS!!!! Dan and Sue your staff was amazing!!!!!! They matched our family and friends perfectly and were so nice and professional!!! All staff went above and beyond to make our wedding awesome! Got major compliments from a lot of the guests about how much they loved the 360 video and the playlist. I can’t thank you all enough for bringing our new beginning in with a bang!
Our DJ, Bob, was AWESOME! We had a great time and didn't have to worry about a thing! I don't think the dance floor was ever empty once we got to the reception! We also used Bob/Music Masters during the ceremony, and it was definitely the right decision! Bob had a constant smile, easy to work with (as was Dan/Music Masters as a whole leading up to our wedding!) and the exact energy we were looking for! We HIGHLY recommend!
Music Masters was awesome and did an OUTSTANDING job!!! Dan and Joe were very kind, patient, professional, and responsive. They made sure every detail was perfect. I would definitely recommend their services.
We had a fantastic experience with MusicMasters! They were priced very fairly. They have an easy-to-use online portal that made it simple to make music selections and fill out planning forms so everything was in one place. There was a very wide variety of songs. I picked something outside the box for a processional song and even though it wasn't in the database on my end, they still had exactly what I wanted. They were always very responsive when I emailed with questions. About a week before the wedding, we had a call with Sue to go over everything, then DJ Joe called me as well a few days later to confirm everything again, run through the timeline, and he played snippets of each of our important songs to make sure he had the right versions. On wedding day everything went smoothly! All the equipment worked perfectly, and DJ Joe did a great job keeping people on the dance floor! He stuck to the timeline and checked in with me a few times throughout the night to make sure everything was okay. I would definitely recommend!
I can not stress enough how awful MusicMasters was. From start to finish it was stressful working with them. It was difficult getting in touch with them, they overcharged us and I had to request a refund, and they supplied us with a DJ that did not match our preferences. The DJ kept singing along to the music, danced on the dance floor, and made inappropriate comments. I would make my own Spotify playlist before booking MusicMasters.
MusicMasters was so easy to work with and made planning our reception music a breeze. Our DJ, Justin, was phenomenal! He went above and beyond on the day of - working with us when we had to make last minute changes to our timeline, choosing the perfect songs to keep everyone on the dance floor, and even ensuring we had refills on our drinks whenever we wanted them. He was a lot of fun and was the perfect addition to our day. Their packages are also very inclusive - we were able to get our DJ, photo booth, microphones/lapel mics, ceremony speakers, and up-lights all from one place with options for even more add ons. I will be recommending them to all my friends and family. Thanks MusicMasters!
MusicMasters was amazing!! Dan and Sue were so responsive and helpful while we were planning. The online portal makes it SO easy to design your entire night, and they make it so no detail can be left out. Our DJ, Johnathan, had great insight/suggestions, and played PERFECT music for our style the entire day- from the ceremony background music, to the dinner music, to the dance floor. Can't recommend MusicMasters enough.
Bill was our wedding dj and we have received so many compliments about how wonderful our reception music was. Bill did an excellent job keeping the crowd up and dancing and we keep hearing how much of a blast everyone had! We definitely recommend Music Masters, they had a very easy to use website for communicating music and the flow we wanted for the evening, they were super responsive, and we are really enjoying how much we are still, two months later, hearing how fantastic the music and reception was!
Amazing experience with MusicMasters! Before booking, I spoke to Dan on the phone for about a half hour -- he conveyed a sense of confidence and caring that subsequently made me confident in booking with them. There is an online portal that is super easy to use where you can add songs to "must play," "play if possible," and "do not play," and list music you wish to be played at dinner or other parts of the night. There is also an event planner that makes it easy to provide all important info (i.e. other vendor info, order of wedding party announced and pronunciations, first dance/caking cutting song, etc.) and timeline of the night. Dan ended up being our DJ for the wedding as well and it was seamless. I will say he did not play a ton from our "must play" list for dancing, but we trusted his expertise. There were constantly guests on the dance floor and we had an incredible time. Thank you so much!!
My wife and I just got married and Music Masters did all the sound systems for the wedding. Justin was the DJ and even only speaking with him over the phone the week before we knew from that first phone call it was going to be a great time! The day was really windy but Justin was there early setting up and sound checking to make sure everything went smoothly. We wanted to make sure the party went on until the very end and it surly did. I don't think I left the dance floor the entire night and Justin even did a special last dance for my wife and I. Music Masters has a great portal that lets you plan your wedding music at your own pace and aligns it perfectly. Highly recommend.
We booked Music Masters through having our wedding at the Pier 5 Hotel. I was a bit nervous having not spoken to our DJ until 3 days before our wedding but it worked out and everything went smoothly. The online portal is super easy to use and helps keep everything organized. Our DJ was DJ Bill and he was fun, pronounced everyone's names correctly, played all the songs I wanted and kept everything running smoothly and timely. Thank you for helping make our wedding day perfect!
MusicMasters did a great job DJing our wedding, as well as providing the AV equipment for the outdoor ceremony. Dan and Sue were very responsive during the planning process, and our DJ, Austin was very friendly and had a great energy that got the crowd excited. Through their planning portal, I was able to put in various songs that I thought our crowd would enjoy, and with a combination of that list and Austin's own similar picks, the dance floor was full all night! So many guests commented on how great the music was. I would recommend Music Masters to anyone looking for a reasonably priced DJ in the Baltimore area.
Music Masters came recommended by our Venue - The Center Club. From the first phone call with Dan Hawkins (co-owner) to the DJ himself - Justin - the experience was amazing. All of your music selections are made online - and that takes the logistical nightmare out of making up a list of your own and emailing it to the DJ or service. Music Masters was not only responsive, and friendly but I felt that their fees were really really reasonable as well. Our DJ did the music fo rour service as well and was spot on - timing wise. No long songs with people sitting around waiting for them to be finished.. everything flowed.
The post dinner dancing was awesome as well - Justin made sure that our personal notes about songs were included in his announcements. It was a smooth, easy process and completely professional. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a top flight DJ service with music that you want! They have the system down to an art form.. and as a Bride it was one less thing to worry about! Dan and Sue were very responsive and helpful from the first email I sent them. We started our planning a year in advance, and as the date got near, Dan emailed us to remind us of the planning information we had not yet completed. Our DJ for the event was Carlos and he did an amazing job. We had a unique set of guests for our wedding with different musical genres and preferences. Carlos perfectly blended it all together and everyone had a great time. I would highly recommend MusicMasters for anyone who is in need of a DJ.

On our wedding day DJ Dan really helped get everything organized and flowing smoothly. He was more helpful than the venue managers when it came to all the details of the night and worked with whatever last minute changes we threw at him. Very friendly, open to suggestions, and got people on the dance floor.
Choosing Music Masters for our DJ and photobooth was the best decision! DJ Gianni was incredible, and kept people dancing all night long. Dan and Sue were great to work with, but they do most of the communicating the week before the wedding, which ended up working out fine! Highly recommend this company.
Music Masters exceeded our expectations for DJ services! The owners, Dan and Sue, were fabulous every step of the way, from the initial email all the way to the wedding. Music Masters provides a detailed website where we were able to plan all the music selections for the entire night. DJ Gianni did an amazing job interacting with our guests and getting everyone out on the dance floor. He was very quick to respond to all of our messages and had some great suggestions to help our night flow perfectly. We can not thank you enough, DJ Gianni!! Scott ran the photo booth and was awesome as well! He kept our guests laughing and having a great time, as well as providing them with a plethora of assorted fun props. We were even provided with a keepsake album of all the photo strip pictures. We would highly recommend Music Master to anyone in need of DJ or photo booth services!
MusicMasters was great from the very beginning. Their website makes planning super easy. You can submit your timeline, pick songs, and your guests can submit songs too. Dan calls to make sure he knows exactly what you're looking for. Then they pick a DJ that is right for you. And they did a great job! DJ Ray Bachman was perfect for us! He made the night run smoothly and got all our guests having a blast on the dance floor. I mentioned a song my dad really liked and he got me before he played that song so I could dance with my dad. You could tell he did his homework before the first time we talked. He knew exactly what I wanted. He even went to the bar to get my husband and I champagne when it was time for toasts since we didn't have any at the time. He went above and beyond to make the night perfect.
We also rented a photo booth through musicmasters and it was the BEST photo booth ever. There were so many (SO SO MANY) hilarious props. The photo booth attendant even helped put my guest book together. She was taping the photo strips to the book and having guests write a message next to their photo. When creating the photo strips, Dan asked me for a theme so he could design it, and I just sent him a picture of our invitations showing a fall theme, and he went off of that and designed a template that matched perfectly. I will definitely be recommending MusicMasters to everyone. Dan and Sue are the best!!
Music Masters was PHENOMINAL from first meeting to final dance at our reception. We didn’t provide much direction and wanted to leave a lot of the decisions up to the experts and Dan picked the best songs for the best moments and gauged the crowd to make sure everyone had a wonderful time! I would highly recommend Music Masters. They also did a fabulous job with our lighting, GoBo, and cake pinspotting.
We can not thank MusicMasters and DJ Gianni enough for the customer service and the excellent execution of the music portion of our wedding!! Sue and Dan were super helpful throughout the whole process - from booking, to random questions, and everything in between. DJ Gianni was available basically on demand with any last minute changes and new exactly the vibe I was looking for. Totally recommend this team and hopefully we can work together in the future!

We cannot say enough wonderful things about HCP. Sarah and her assistant Matt were just INCREDIBLE. From the moment I met Sarah, she blew me away with her professionalism and most of all, her amazing talent. She helped keep me organized up to the day-of with everything I wanted and how the day was going to go. When the day came, Sarah kept me calm when hair and makeup was running an hour behind, my mom was having a necklace crisis, and everyone was needing me for something. She even helped bustle my dress at the reception :) Sarah and Matt kept the day flowing smoothly and got all of the amazing pictures we wanted. They kept us on schedule and made photo-taking so much fun! When it came time for the reception, Matt showed us all how to do the wobble!! They are an incredible team. They captured all of the sweet and fun moments we had throughout our whole day. We cannot speak any higher of them. Sarah is an absolute MASTER of her profession. We could not be happier with our photographers and the beautiful pictures we have to reflect our fairytale wedding. If you're trying to find the perfect photographer for your perfect day, High Contrast is the only choice. Sarah: we cannot thank you enough and we can't express that enough!!! Dan Hawkins did a fabulous job at my wedding this past November. He really does create a party atmosphere and is an amazing MC. He is easy to work with and very reasonably priced. I have received so many compliments about how great he was and how lively the dance floor was. He knows which songs to play and exactly when to play them.
DJ Pouya was wonderful. He took our suggestions and added a lot of extra songs to make sure that everyone stayed dancing all night long. He helped to create a wonderful party atmosphere, and I got so many compliments on how fun the party was! Dan and Sue were also super helpful and patient throughout the whole process! I really loved the online planning portal as well! It was easy to use and helped me feel secure in knowing that our guests would have a wonderful time! Dan Hawkins did an outstanding job at my daughters wedding in October 2017 and deserves more than five stars. During the planning process Dan met with us several times and also provided an online process to make the planning easier. Dan is extremely knowledgeable and talented as a DJ and kept the music flowing and people on the dance floor the entire night. Dan moved through the evening almost effortlessly keeping to the timeline established, and after a five hour reception, the dance floor was still full when the last song was played thanks to Dan. During the wedding reception and after, guests were extremely complimentary about Dan and his work. He is FANTASTIC and FUN!

Dan and Sue were great to work with before-hand in making sure we were taken care of - they talked with us at length about our vision for the day and made sure to pair us with a DJ that matched our preferences. Their planning portal is great and made it easy to list our preferred songs for various parts of the day, as well as a Do Not Play list. They also made sure we connected with the DJ for a chat before the wedding so we could go over our details which was great and enabled the DJ to really dial in on what kind of performance we were looking for.
We had a large venue with multiple spaces to provide sound and lighting for, and the DJ brought enough equipment to make sure it was all taken care of without needing to shuttle speakers and such from room to room. The DJ was on-point with all of our requests both in terms of the music played as well as timing for all of the announcements throughout our ceremony and reception.
MusicMasters was recommended to us by another couple who gave them a great review, and we're happy to do the same and recommend them for your DJ'ing needs!

We had a great time with Dan and he did a fabulous job and really read the crowd well. In hindsight I would have liked a little more communication up front regarding the songs and choices that would be feasible for the amount of time of our reception. There were some "must play" songs I didn't hear but I think they were covered during cocktail hour when I wasn't in the room. Overall the photo booth and the music and lights were fabulous and I had a great time and so did my guests. We even had karaoke and many of our guests were participating and having a great time. I liked being able to get so many quality services with one great company!

MusicMasters killed it! Not only did they do an amazing job with music for our wedding, they listened to what we wanted, provided recommendations and suggestions, were flexible, responsive, respectful, fun, and their prices were totally reasonable. The online portal was also extremely helpful and very comprehensive-- it provided structure to help organize the timeline, order of events, and centralize all the important details of the day. This tool is super helpful for someone who doesn't know where/ how to start planning all the details of the day, and also amazing for anyone who likes planning and having control over details. I would recommend MusicMasters to anyone planning a wedding or looking for a professional DJ who can really elevate whatever celebration you're having!

I used MusicMasters for a photobooth at my wedding. I am very happy that I chose them!! When searching for wedding vendors, I tried to do my research. MusicMasters was well priced & included EVERYTHING I wanted for my photobooth. They were also very responsive and easy to talk to. Weddings can be a stressful time but MusicMasters took all of my worries away regarding my photobooth! The day of my wedding, the set up looked fantastic and the employees were exceptional! Many of my guests said how much fun they had at the photobooth :) Highly recommend them!
Great service, and much more affordable than the other DJ's we looked at. They have a full online portal where you can plan almost every music selection for the whole evening. DJ Dan was very friendly and I was able to chat with him several times on the phone to go over all the details. Our wedding went off without a hitch and the music had people dancing non-stop.
MusicMasters were very professional to work with. Their online form was easy to navigate. Our DJ was fantastic and played music that we and our guests loved to dance to. We had a diverse group of guests and our DJ read them very well. She even prepared a special send-off for us at the end of the night.
I had my wedding on 9/9/2016 with DJ Dan. I cannot say enough good things about our experience with MusicMasters. My husband and I have an eclectic taste in music, and Dan's playlist for the wedding was perfect for us. We even had couples coming up to us telling us they wished they had him as their DJ for their wedding. I want to thank Music Masters, and DJ Dan, for making out wedding so much fun and enjoyable. There were a lot of issues that happened the day of the wedding (i.e. no power for half the wedding), but as long as we had that generator that allowed the music and sound system, I knew everything would work out.
I can't even begin to tell you how happy I am with my choice to go with DJ Dan at Music Masters! I knew right from the beginning they were the company to use for my wedding. They have such an amazing website that helps you plan your wedding from beginning to end and helps you to think of every little detail. Dan was so attentive and helpful over the last year as I was planning my wedding. He was able to relieve any and all anxiety I had about anything related to the music and time line. He allowed me to put as much input as I wanted into what kind of music I wanted played, but he made me feel comfortable letting him hold the reigns and play music he saw fit. He really knows how to read a crowd! They also offer a photo booth and lighting, so they're a one stop shop! It was both convenient and affordable. We couldn't be more happy with out decision for Music Masters (Dan) for our wedding night. The floor was packed the whole night and everyone said it's the best wedding they have been to. We are so happy that we chose Music Masters for our wedding day! Dan and Sue were a pleasure to work with and made us feel taken care of throughout the months of planning. Their online portal is easy and extremely helpful, especially for picky clients like us--we were in there editing our song lists all the time. It was so important to us to feel confident that the night would be personalized to our taste, which was what we received.
We were given DJ Jay and the night was a blast! We know we have a crew that loves to dance but didn't expect everyone to hit the dance floor on the very first song and not stop until the last. Jay read the crowd very well and also did a phenomenal job coordinating our transitions, including dances, speeches, cake cutting, etc.

Thank you thank you thank you Music Masters! Everyone had a smashing good time and many of our guests remarked on how splendid the DJing was. Dan was very accommodating for our specific needs and I would recommend him to anyone who wants a stress-free musical experience for any event. The intuitive online web portal also made things easy for my spouse and I to select our favs and get requests from our guests months in advance. A+ service from an A+ team... Stay classy.
We just got married on 2/14/16 and Music Masters made everything so easy for the wedding. The web site is phenomenal--it will guide you through step by step for the timeline for the wedding details, and all the events that take place inside the wedding. It's easy to edit too when you really start to organize everything. Then when you make your playlist it will tell you popular songs by each decade to get ideas and choose your set. You can also search for everything and anything. Then after all that (we had Dan Hawkins) Dan called us and we went over everything step by step a week or so before the wedding. One other thing I want to add about the website is that you can make payments online through PayPal so it's super convenient from beginning to end--totally polished. Back to Dan--he has so much knowledge about weddings in general, the suggestions he made worked out perfectly to make it the perfect night! Dan took a lot of pressure off of us having to worry about that entertainment portion of the wedding--which is a huge chunk considering that the DJ & music drive the rest of the wedding after everyone eats! Definitely check them out--you won't be disappointed!
We booked Dan Hawkins after reading excellent reviews, and I'm so glad we did. He was so easy to work with, personable, and read a crowd like no other! We're young (mid 20's) with family ranging from our age, to 30's, to 40's, 50's, and 60's. Needless to say, we had an eclectic selection of music! Dan played a little bit of everything that got EVERYONE on the dance floor. He also did an amazing job of feeling everyone out and deciding when to make announcements, play certain kinds of music, and when to have our events. He worked excellently with all our vendors and was an overall great person to work with, talk to, and be around! We will call him for ALL occasions from here on out, and I know my friends and family will, too!
We hired Music Masters because they played at a family member's wedding the year prior and we thought they were great! Music Masters sent Ray and we couldn't have been more pleased. He was professional and friendly, he played everything the bride and groom wanted and was just very accommodating. We thought the price was very reasonable as well. We would highly recommend Ray and Music Masters!!
Wow our DJ was great! We had Jonathan Davis and contacted us the week before the wedding and went over everything with us. Our reception went so smoothly and we didn't have to worry about a thing. The DJ played all our requests and even requests from the guests. The music was perfect for our set of guests and we actually had multiple people come up to us and tell us good it was (the songs AND the volume).
After you sign the contract, the company gives you your own account on their website where you can give them every little detail about the event AND request songs (and ban some). The prices are very competitive and the owners Sue and Dan are wonderful.
My husband and I got married this past weekend at the American Visionary Art Museum and Dan Hawkins was our phenomenal DJ. From the beginning, my husband and I agreed that the most important part of our wedding was that everyone had fun. For that to happen, we needed awesome music. We spent hours putting together a must play list and a do not play list. Dan did a fantastic job weaving in the music from the must play list with other songs that he knew would work with the crowd. He sensed what was working and what wasn't, and he played to the crowd's energy.
I can say without a doubt that we had the most intense dance party we've ever experienced at a wedding. Even our day-of coordinator and our caterer were in awe of the dance party. I sweat through my wedding dress, my husband sweat through his suit, and my father sweat through two shirts. It was not hot out, the dancing was just that smoking. Once the dancing started, at least 75% of the guests were on the dance floor until the lights went on to signal that the party was over.
I can't stress enough how much fun our wedding was because of the environment set by the music. Dan Hawkins- thank you for the most memorable wedding newleyweds could ask for!
