Erick is a super professional and fun DJ. He was very pleasant to work with leading up to the event. We threw a lot of demands at him with tons of specifics and he handled it all with ease. Music was a huge part of our day and he nailed the ceremony and reception. He has a calm, comforting presence that one needs on their wedding day! Who else can mix Saucy Santana one minute, then scratch up Cotton Eyed Joe the next? Erick is simply the best.

Erick seriously made my wedding SO much fun!! Music is a very important thing to both myself and my wife, so we naturally had so many concerns when it came to hiring a dj. We worried about our dj not getting our vibe (we both have very specific music tastes and hate the popular songs that are played at weddings, ESPECIALLY the structured group dances) and we also wanted to strike a balance where the music represented our tastes but also were songs that everyone could enjoy. Erick was very good about communicating his style and also gave us many opportunities to let him know what we were going for. From the initial consult to us meeting for a beer to go over details, I felt like Erick really listened and wanted to tailor the night’s soundtrack to our interests. He asked for a playlist from us to get a general sense of what we wanted (this helped tremendously because we both love creating playlists) and he was able to play a lot of songs from the list but also incorporate popular songs people enjoyed that also fit the same mood/feeling! Everything he played flowed together really nicely and he even graciously took requests from folks on the spot. Erick was also great at making announcements, hyping people up, but also was able to feed off of the crowd’s energy. Another thing that stood out to me was that Erick noticed my 10 year old nephew taking an interest in his dj set up and allowed him to co-dj for a bit!! That was really cute and meant a lot to me :)! Do not hesitate to hire Erick- he is a great communicator and knows how to help you deliver a party that everyone will remember!

Erick is the best person on the planet. Professional, kind, fun, and a beast when it comes to setting the vibe. Couldn't have had a better person DJ our wedding and every guests has been hitting me up to get his set list. Hire Erick for anything because it will be a sure fire good time.

I know Eric personally and would highly recommend his services! He is kind and professional, yet laid back in the best way. He gives you full control of the process, but if you’re like me he will also make a playlist based on your taste. All of my guests said that outside of how great the bride and groomed looked, the DJ was their favorite part!

Erick was amazing! I’ve been to a lot of weddings and he is definitely the best I’ve experienced. Everything went perfectly, from our ceremony music to our intros and reception. Many of our guests even made a point to compliment the background music during cocktail hour and dinner. When it was time to start the party Erick really got it going! Erick was professional, flexible, energetic - everything you would want in a DJ and emcee for your event. I have seen Erick DJ at other events before and I was so happy he was available for our wedding. From the ceremony to cocktail hour to reception, he brought all the good vibes. Eric happens to also be my husband's barber, which is how we initially found him. We loved his easy going demeanor and cool style. For such a stressful process, Eric really helps keep you comfortable. He also has a ton of experience working weddings, local events, and DJ's at bars all over Richmond+Va Beach most every weekend. Eric makes the process very easy and fun, by allowing you to provide him a a playlist of music you generally like. He is not your standard DJ, and keeps the party going continuously by mixing tracks back-to-back. Multiple people who attended our wedding told us this was by far the most fun they'd had partying at a wedding. I had to take a couple breathers myself from constant dancing...All in all, we are so happy we chose Eric, and would recommend him to anyone looking for a wedding DJ.

I hired My Fellow DJ for my husbands 30th birthday party. Erick was so great to work with from start to finish. He’s very friendly, approachable, and easy to communicate with. He was extremely professional, on time, and worked seamlessly with the venue to set up and take down his gear. I've been waiting since 2017 to have Erick as the DJ for my wedding. (Note: I was super single and didn't find my dude until 2019). The moment I got engaged, I made sure to book him ASAP. Eric is such a friendly and easy to work with person. He came recommended by several of our friends who also hired him to DJ their weddings. Despite having a relatively small wedding, we knew that we wanted a DJ and hiring Erick was hands down the best decision! Erick not only made our reception a better party than we could've imagined, he helped us have the perfect music for our ceremony and did not even bat an eye when I had very specific timing requests for all of our songs. He was the easiest vendor to work with in the entire planning process, which was such a relief when trying to juggle so many different aspects of planning! We didn’t think our reception would be that much of a party but Erick had every guest out of their seats dancing. He’s an absolute pro and if you are even considering hiring a dj for your wedding or event, you will not regret him. Our only regret is not having a longer reception because we truly did not want the party to end. Such an all around great guy and we will recommend him to everyone we know!

My fiance wanted to find a DJ that will bring the best music on our big day. Of course, we thought of Erick. We have been to other events and weddings where Erick DJ'ed. At all events, the guests were up and dancing all night. When we reached out to Erick, he was very responsive. We spoke via phone to discuss his services and our options. He had us come up with a playlist on Spotify to help him better determine our music style. That process with my fiance was a great bonding experience. Unfortunately, Covid happened and our 200 + people wedding had to be changed to a small dinner with our family only. We decided to cancel his service, which was a real bummer, and he was very understanding. He even returned our deposit! What a stand up guy! We highly recommend him for any event!

BOOK HIM! He’s well known in the VB RVA areas and has done many events we have attended. He is professional but also a good time! He took our playlist and made it his own by creating the perfect vibe for our elopement!

We had spent a lot of time looking for the right DJ and finding the right fit for us! We wanted someone personable and laid back, but also one who could keep everyone hype throughout the night. Erick did just that! He is experienced and knowledgeable and did a superb job during the wedding ceremony, cocktail hour, and reception. He was flexible and was able to adapt to the changes in timeline during the night, even when I provided him with the wrong draft of speeches and bridal party names. We sent him some of our favorite songs on Spotify a week before the wedding and he was able to read our likes and dislikes and what kind of party we wanted for the reception. He kept everyone on the dance floor and ended the night with “Dreams and Nightmares.” Seriously, the best night ever that everyone’s still talking about. Our only wish from our wedding day was that our reception and dancing lasted a bit longer – which wasn’t Erick’s fault because I know if it was up to him he would have kept the night going as well!

Erick was amazing throughout the whole process of planning a wedding. At the beginning he was responsive, answered all our questions, and was very clear of the services that he would provide. As the day of the wedding arrived, Erick arrived early to set up for music for the ceremony and transitioned into the reception hall without any qualms. It has been a week since we got married and had Erick as our DJ and I can hands down say that the music is on the top of mine and my husband’s list of what we loved about our reception. We booked Erick a year in advance, and then had to do major changes due to COVID. He was kind, understanding, and extremely flexible. We changed dates and he was still available to accommodate. Combined, my husband gave him a few lists of songs, while I just gave him a general description of the mood and vibe we were going for. Boy, did he deliver! He knows how to read a room and ply what is right for the moment. All of our guests had so many good things to say about the music that evening. To top it all, we extending our time at the venue an hour and he accommodated to play! So good! Will recommend to all my friends and book again!

Erick knows what he's doing and he's the only DJ I'd trust to do my wedding. You can give him a song-for-song playlist, or what we chose for our wedding, which was to give him a list to get a feel for what kind of music we wanted played throughout the course of the night. This saved us tons of time in our planning process, and he did not disappoint with his filler music! He touches base with you over the course of your planning period, and has a sit down with you a month or so before the event to make sure everything is ready to roll. His sound system for our ceremony and reception were good quality.

Erick, the owner and DJ for My Fellow DJ, went above and beyond to make the music and atmosphere at our wedding perfect and match our personalities. He has fantastic taste in music-- both what he listens to personally and what he plays at events. He also has the exact personality you’d want from a DJ-- fun, energetic, happy but also cool under pressure and professional. We had some really specific requests, which Erick was happily able to do. We also had very vague requests and didn’t know what we wanted for some things and Erick knew exactly what we needed in those cases. Our setup was really unique and required Erick to move locations a few times and bring multiple PA systems. He moved with ease and there were no interruptions to our event. When we told other DJ’s about relocating throughout the event they were very hesitant or told us it wasn’t possible. Erick accepted the challenge and knocked it out of the park. Most importantly, everyone had a phenomenal time. We've heard from several guests that they loved the music and had so much fun dancing. I've even received a few "best wedding ever" compliments, which are all attributed to Erick. Erick was timely, flexible, professional, and just plain fun. He knew how to get every guest on the dance floor -- from 3 years old to 90 years old, Erick played music that made it fun for all ages. I recommend Erick to anyone and everyone! This fella is the Indiana Jones of DJ’s. Cool guy. Great taste in music. Would absolutely dance to his music again.

Erick was great to work with! I'd heard him play at gigs around rva and knew he'd crush it at our wedding, and he exceeded our expectations. We told him we wanted to have a dance-heavy reception for our friends and family, and he definitely delivered. Everyone was raving about the music, and he easily incorporated the songs I had requested for the night. We had one minor mic issue, but because he had a backup handheld mic, crisis was averted. Erick was an amazing DJ for our wedding and would highly recommend him for any event! We had the most fun dancing to every song, did a great mix of all songs including songs that I requested beforehand and had everyone dancing. He was flexible enough to do a very on the spot twist on the conventional mother and son dance that my husband spontaneously requested, which we appreciated so much! I was very hesitant about picking a DJ online that I had never seen in person before! I read all of Erick’s reviews and they were all positive so I decided to take the plunge. Erick was very informative and patient in the process and has a great form that encompasses all of the important questions for the big day. We had some minor changes in our grand entrance announcements but Erick handled it with ease! I made a cocktail hour playlist but not a reception song playlist because the task was too daunting. I only asked a for party/dance vibe for the reception and he KILLED IT! Everyone was on the dance floor all night long and it was everything I could ask for and more :) I had a couple of engaged guests attend the wedding and Erick was handing out his business cards left and right. If you are still trying to decide who to book for your DJ then you should definitely book Erick before someone else does!!!! Erick, thank you for making my wedding such a fun night that I will never forget :)

We made a last minute(about a month out) decision to hire a DJ for our wedding instead of relying on a playlist on shuffle. It was one of the best decisions! Erick freaking killed it! My husband created a playlist of aongs we wanted to play during the reception and sent it the night before our wedding. My Fellow DJ took it and mixed every song flawlessly! My husband is NOT one to dance at all and he was dancing almost the entire reception! We got so many comments from our guests about how great the DJ was and I couldn’t agree it’s them more. Erick was so easy to work with, professional, friendly, genuine, and so talented. I would 130% recommend his services for any fun occasion!

Great Dj! If you want your crowd to dance all night he is the guy. Plays the best songs and mixes with great MC skills. I had Eric at my wedding and I had a playlist but little did I realize my crowd of people didn’t like my playlist and I think he knew so I was so happy that he just naturally transitioned to what the crowd would like just a true DJ.
