My Friend Mike

Ever since I heard My Friend Mike sing at another friend's wedding, I knew I wanted them to sing at our wedding. My Friend Mike blew us away! They sang all of our first dance songs, had an MC for our event, kept the dance floor full all evening, and let us rent speaker devices for our ceremony. The communication with their booking partner, Contemporary Productions, was incredible. Guests raved about My Friend Mike and reached out for more information for future events! We can’t thank MFM enough for making our wedding day so special!

We had THE GREATEST time at our wedding and I have to give credit to MFM. They came highly recommended by our wonderful wedding planner (Michelle Brugere of Seamless Events). We didn’t really know what to expect - something fun, maybe a bit cheesy, but overall enjoyable - and MFM exceeded all of these expectations without adding any cheese to the mix! They were professional, on time, read the room, their sound was great, and the DJ that they had for their band breaks killed it, too! We have them a wide variety of songs and sounds that we wanted to hear, and they didn’t just play them, they smashed them. My husband, myself, our families and all of our guests filled the dance floor all night because of these folks and I am so grateful. Thank you MFM for making our day SO special and fun.

We were blown away by My Friend Mike! We had seen them play before at another wedding and they did not disappoint for ours! We continue to get compliments from our wedding guests even weeks after our wedding about how much people loved the band. The dance floor was full all night and people loved that they played all different types of music. The coordinator for the band, Catherine, made this a super easy and stress free process. Not to mention the band members are super friendly and such a fun group. Would strongly recommend them at any other wedding if you want a full dance floor!

My Friend Mike was truly an AMAZING wedding band! The entire process of working with them was high quality and seamless. They were very responsive and accommodating with planning, extremely professional, and performed every song from our setlist with great energy and precision. They are so versatile that they can play a wide variety of songs while gauging the crowd's response. MFM was also able to play special requests for important parts of the reception like the first dances. The DJ did an excellent job with announcing different segments of the reception which made for smooth transitions to stay on schedule. MFM is the go-to band for weddings. They had all of our guests dancing the entire night!

MFM was great entertainment for our wedding that was on 11/5/22! They supported the ceremony with audio and cocktail hour with audio and a playlist we provided. Their Emcee services and the band made the transitions from each part of the wedding perfect and got our guest in their dancing shoes once folks were finished with dinner! I don't think my bride left the dance floor all night as her and the wedding party and our guest had a great time with some great music that MFM was able to provide. I would book them again in a heartbeat!

MFM was amazing at our wedding! We originally were going to go with someone else until we found MFM, & I'm super grateful we did! They were such a fun band & I will forever look back on our wedding day with them included in the memory of such a special day!

They were AMAZING! As the bride, I don’t know if I missed more than 2 songs on the dance floor! However, my favorite part is that THEY had people on the dance floor that are NEVER on the dance floor! And, when the dance floor was packed (which it was 95% of the night) people were dancing by their tables surrounding the dance floor! Everyone was commenting about how amazing they were! We absolutely could not have picked a better band for our wedding night! Keeping the dance floor crowded was one of our top priorities, and My Friend Mike did just that. The dance floor was PACKED from start to finish. They are able to play such a range of songs/genres which makes it so fun for all the guests. At the end of the night people were begging for one more song. People still come up to us and say how much fun the dance floor was. Our guests had the BEST time dancing to My Friend Mike all night at our wedding reception. My husband and I love live music, so we knew the band for our wedding had to be a good one. We watched the videos of MFM online and read the great reviews and so we decided to go with them. Their team was so professional and easy to communicate with. They also did a great job introducing our wedding party and providing fun music during dinner hour. Once they started playing, the dance floor was packed until the very last song! We have gotten wonderful feedback from our guests saying how fun the music was. The band even sang Happy Birthday to my Maid of Honor which was so fun. MFM was the perfect choice for my wedding (we did a jazz duo for a cocktail hour and 9 piece band for the night)! They were incredibly easy to book, affordable, flexible with the number of musicians we needed, flexible with equipment we needed (an extra speaker for an outdoor area due to covid - they were very good about working with the venue), and played AMAZING music! We had them learn 3 songs for the first dance and father/daughter and mother/son dances - they did a great job with each of those! Additionally, we were able to look through their song list and preference things we liked; we even asked for a few specific songs to be played by their DJ on breaks and they played everything we asked for. I felt like they were a really special band because it felt like they looked at the songs we preferenced and were able to get a great feel for what our crowd would like - it was a great mix of oldies/new songs that had everyone from my little nephews and nieces to grandparents on the dance floor the whole night - I don't think I stopped dancing once! We also had kind of a weird request of the band - that they learn a song so my husband could karaoke it with them (he is super into singing "Minnie the Moocher") and they were FANTASTIC! We have it on video and it's something we'll always remember. Ultimately, we could not have chosen a better band, from ease of working with them to their awesome music the night could not have been better!

Our family and friends were so impressed by My Friend Mike! Their music added so much joy to our wedding day. They kept guests dancing until the end of the night. We especially loved their version of the Hava Nagila for our Hora dance -- people are still talking about it!

My husband and I desperately wanted a band but most were out of our budget. My Friend Mike was very reasonable and 100% exceeded our expectations. We have had so many compliments since our wedding. They were very easy to work with and organized and accommodated all our requests. The band absolutely took our reception to the next level!

My wife and I would like to give our sincere thank you and a 5 Star review to My Friend Mike, who played our wedding at the Hyatt on 10/20/18. Beginning with their producer/agent, Peter, we were given great service throughout our planning process. We had some last minute changes due to weather, and a good channel for communication is key when you have other balls to juggle as well. As for the band, Mike, the lead singer has one of the best voices we have ever heard, and our guests unanimously felt the same way (some were saying they want to fly the band to New York where they lived). I would describe it as a raspy meets elegance. Danielle, the backup vocals, is a great compliment to Mike, and brings a strong energy to the stage. The instrument players (guitar, bass, percussion, horns) were superb as well, and very versatile as the setlist varied from older classics to newer pop. Both the older and younger generations really appreciated the variety of music played, and our dance floor was occupied until the final song played. We hope to be invited to another event where we can see this group in action, as it was truly one of the highlights of our wedding. My husband and I cannot say enough things about MFM!!!!! The band is AMAZING! They played our reception at Heart of St. Charles and knocked it out of the park. BEST BAND EVER!!!! I cannot recommend this band enough. I used them for my wedding reception at Moulin in St. Louis. They were by far one of the most affordable bands I looked at in St. Louis. They were super easy to work with right off the bat. Gretchen was their coordinator and made things so easy for me. She was helpful and sweet and very professional . The band knocked it out of the park at my reception. They said I could have 5 "must play" songs and I probably gave them a list of 30+ songs just so they could use some of them for the playlist while the band takes a break and they actually learned a ton of the songs on my list and played them live. I give them tons of credit because a lot of our song choices were country songs and I know they don't specialize in that. Both of our families LOVE old school country and the band sounded so much like the real songs. We had a blast and they never took long breaks so people were constantly on the dance floor. They were professional, fun, on time, easy to work with and a great bang for our buck. They are also great for smaller venues. Moulin's band area isn't that huge so they fit in there well without over crowding the dance floor. We continue to get compliments about the music at our reception and couldn't be happier.

They were excellent! I had a hard time choosing the perfect band for my wedding July 14th. I wanted the crowd to dance and keep the party going which is exactly what they did! They sang all our requested songs live and kept the whole party dancing till the lights turned on! So many compliments from our guests about how amazing the band was. This is the second time we hired the band - My Friend Mike. They are one of the best cover bands in St. Louis. All of our friends and family enjoyed them at both weddings and said they were first class. They followed the schedule and played the couples favorites. The dance floor was full the whole night. Mike and team were AMAZING! Our guests were on the dance floor all night long and we had countless people rave about how much fun the entertainment was. We also asked him to learn two new songs for us as part of our first dances and he agreed without hesitation. Peter (booking agent) was also very easy to work with and very responsive. We have seen My Friend Mike many times from the local wineries, to Cards Opening Day at Kiener Plaza, and this year at Civic Park for their summer concert series, always a great show! The decision to have them at our wedding was simple as we knew the talent and variety they bring was sure to impress all of our guests. Greatly exceeded my high expectations‼️ My Friend Mike was a FABULOUS success at my son's wedding!! Best band ever!!! My Friend Mike did such an amazing job at our wedding and our guests continued to rave about how great they were days after. We were really picky when it came to finding the right band. When we heard their recording samples online, we decided to check them out live at the Chase Park Plaza restaurant. We were so impressed with the different types of music they played and having both a female and male vocalist made for a great variety. We had a good friend sing our first dance song, and the band was able to back his vocals and even rehearse with him before the reception started. Hands down, My Friend Mike is your jam crew if you are looking to keep the crowd alive! The reinvented "wedding band" by making it their own and that is what floored our guests! When we went band shopping we saw quite a few bands that just didn't have that "wow" factor. This band keeps the actions alive while they perform because you can just tell they jive and love what they do. Their energy pours through the speakers! Their song selections were in the perfect order to keep all ages engaged which can often be tough. I had people stopping me numerous times throughout the night saying, "Where did you find them!?" Look no further for your wedding band...they will surely blow you away!

Oh my goodness - I cannot say enough good things about My Friend Mike! Lead singer, Mike Schlipp is such a nice and accommodating guy. They NAILED our wedding. This band knows what they are doing. The held to our timeline, helped us recover when we got a bit behind, and entertained us all night. We hired the 6-peice band, which featured both a male and female vocalist, which is such a nice touch. They are so talented and had the dance floor packed all night! We did a lot of research on this band, watched their demo videos, and even went to see a (much-smaller) version of the band play at a different location earlier in the planning process. NONE of these outlets does this band justice. They are in their element at a wedding and our guests LOVED them. Having a live band at our wedding made the night!

My Friend Mike was the perfect band to play at our wedding! The dance floor was full all night, and they played every thing from Motown to contemporary hits to the Hava Nagila, and they sounded great through it all. They even went the extra mile to sing a song that my dad had customized the lyrics to for our father daughter dance. From the very first correspondence back in the summer of 2015 to post-wedding in June 2016, Peter was incredible to work with. Very prompt, thorough, and friendly in his communication. We cannot begin to explain how fun our reception was thanks to this amazing band! My friend Mike played at our reception June 11, 2016 and our guests were up dancing the entire night. I live out of town and had to choose a band for my wedding without hearing them live...with that being said, I'm so glad I choose My Friend Mike! They have such a cool sound and such talent. They know how to get people on the dance floor! They played every song I requested of them. What's great about this band is that they can play so many different genres of music and the price was great for the number of band members/different instruments. My Friend Mike was a great wedding band for us to have in the mix. They were excellent to work with as we prepared for our day. Additionally, and likely very important, the price for the band and the quality of the music is what we would describe as a great value. They took time and effort to learn songs specific to our big day, but also rocked a number of other wedding regulars. Our dance floor stayed packed the whole time and we were very pleased. The night ended with everyone chanting "three more songs", but the venue shut it down. This was one of our favorite vendors for our wedding. The total cost included our discretionary tip, an hour of solo piano player during cocktails, and a 6 person band for 4 hours.

From booking to the final song, My Friend Mike was very professional and easy to work with! The dance floor was packed all night, and everyone was commenting that they were the best wedding band they had ever heard! Mike was an outstanding MC throughout the night. My Friend Mike was everything we wanted in a band, and at an amazing price. We met with them several times before the wedding and knew immediately upon hearing Mike play that we could not have made a better choice. They are so professional, they learned several different songs for us, and Mike's voice is amazing. They were so easy to work with and we got so many compliments from guests about how great they were and how fun the music was. We had a wonderful experience with Mike and his band and with Contemporary Productions, their management company. If you are looking for a fun and professional band that is a little more cost friendly, My Friend Mike is the way to go.

Where do I start. The band was incredibly flexible and easy going. Mike was a great MC and was really communicative. The band knew what to play for people of all ages. I hired part of the band for my rehearsal dinner and they did not disappoint.Really well rehearsed and ready to rock! This band is one of the best kept secrets in St Louis.
