t engagement session. When COVID first hit hard we had to reschedule. He contacted me 6-7 days prior to the new date to reschedule due to conflicts on his end. When we explained the date we had would work best, he cancelled our entire contract. When we asked why our wedding services were cancelled due to engagement shoot conflicts, we didn’t get a clear answer. I understood his family reasons for not being able to due our engagement session, but to leave us without a critical wedding day vendor was quite disheartening. We looked forward to him capturing our day. I attempted to get a clearer explanation, but his reasoning continued to only reflect his personal conflicts with our engagement shoot, not why our wedding services were also cancelled.

. After working with him on our engagement photos, we can say that he does take great photos and is passionate. However, passion and good work aren’t the only aspects that make a great business. On April 16, 2019, Myles called me and essentially broke the news that he cannot photograph our wedding due to booking another wedding in another country the day after our wedding. Myles told me that “[the other couple] really locked [him] in when they booked flights.” I don’t know what a signed contract means to Myles. To us, a signed contract is a locked in date. We did not receive any questions from Myles about our planned wedding weekend timeline for him to correctly coordinate photographing two weddings nor communication from Myles about the urgency of booking his travel due to a scheduling conflict. That same day, my fiance reached out to Myles via text, asking Myles to call him. My fiance’s name is on the signed contract and therefore is also Myles’ client and should be able to speak with him to hear firsthand about what happened, where the breakdown in process was and to ask his own questions. Myles never called him back. My next and last two text messages to Myles was to tell him that we expected our full deposit back within 30 days per the contract and that he needs to speak with my fiance (his (ex-) client). Myles then proceeded to make this about him and his feelings and said that he’d only call my fiance back on HIS conditions. He attacked me and told me that I need to watch my “tone and approach” towards him. I’ve never been spoken to with such a condescending tone, especially from a business owner. Myles never took responsibility for the conflict. He kept saying Honeybook didn’t catch a schedule conflict because the weddings are on two different dates and didn’t take into consideration that both weddings are destination weddings for him. I haven’t used Honeybook other than from the client side, but I’m not sure Honeybook should be able to discern these things. Honeybook didn’t coordinate with the other couple to book his travel to Canada - Myles did. It’s not our responsibility to know his schedule (booking schedule and traveling schedule), nor is it the other couples’ or Honeybook’s responsibility. That being said, if Myles reached out and spoke to the both of us, explained the situation and said, “I’m so sorry, it’s my fault,” this review would be very different. Instead, Myles decided to place blame elsewhere and not own up to his mistake. We were essentially ignored/avoided and, when he did decide to communicate to us, we were met with opposition and combativeness. Myles’ fall from grace was long and hard. His lack of care and respect for his (ex-) clients was astounding. We didn’t ask for anything more than our deposit to be refunded, per the contract, and an explanation. This was a blessing in disguise. We, as clients, put a lot of trust into our vendors to not only do their job, but do so with the utmost professionalism and respect. We expect our vendors to be reliable, communicative and organized. Is Myles passionate about what he does? Yes. Does he do good work? Yes. Does he know how to treat clients/ex-clients when something goes awry? No. Would I consider working with him again or recommend him? Absolutely not.

I wish he would do more than weddings just so I can get more pictures from him. Maybe I will do a vow renewal for the sole purpose of more pictures..?

he world! His energy is so contagious and he was so creative with our "poses"! He wants his work to be different from everyone else and continuously outshines everyone else. His heart and soul goes into every single photo and I could not be more thankful to have him as not just our photographer for our wedding, but our friend! Thank you, Myles, for being unapologetic-ally YOU! You are a light in this world.
