The morning after your engagement session, you messaged me saying the photos were “LOVELY” and thanked me for them. No mention of bad angles. NO MENTION OF “TOO DARK.” NO MENTION OF A HIGH BAD-TO-GOOD RATIO. All of that only showed up after you decided not to move forward with your wedding coverage and asked for your deposit back. BEFORE BOOKING, YOU: - Checked my website and social media - Picked a 6-hour photo + video wedding package - Signed the agreement - Paid a clearly stated 30% non-refundable retainer to lock in your April 2026 date That retainer is not “one hour of engagement photos for $800.” It covers: - Reserving your wedding date and turning away other couples for that date - All the pre-booking admin, emails, and planning - The engagement session itself - Culling, editing, and delivering the gallery - Hosting your online album so you can download and share your photos All of that, plus the artistic release and non-refundable retainer, is laid out in the contract you agreed to before any money changed hands. ON THE ARTISTIC SIDE: You mentioned missed opportunities, bad angles, dark lighting, and that I was “experimenting a lot.” My style — the same style on my site and social media — is a mix of guiding you into flattering positions and then letting real, natural moments happen. I intentionally shoot a lot so you get variety: different angles, compositions, and in-between moments. Not every frame is meant to be a hero, but the gallery I delivered is consistent with the work I publicly show and that you saw before you booked. And to be honest, there are couples who would love to have exactly the kind of golden-hour / nighttime look you got. IN FACT, WE'VE HAD SO MANY COUPLES WHO TRAVELED THE WHOLE COUNTRY JUST TO GET PHOTOS LIKE YOU GUYS GOT. You also told me you wanted someone “with a little more experience” and asked me to return your deposit minus whatever portion I felt was fair. IN THAT SAME CONVERSATION, YOU SAID YOU’D “RETURN THE FAVOR WITH A GOOD REVIEW” IF I WAS ABLE TO REFUND PART OF THE DEPOSIT, WHICH PUT ME IN A POSITION WHERE THE REFUND AND THE REVIEW FELT KIND OF LINKED. That’s where I draw the line. I’M NOT COMFORTABLE WITH REVIEWS BEING USED AS LEVERAGE. REVIEWS SHOULD BE HONEST, NOT PART OF A NEGOTIATION. I fully respect that you changed your mind and want a different style for your wedding. That’s your right, and it’s your day. But changing your mind after: - Signing the contract - Doing the engagement session - Receiving your gallery - Telling me the photos were “lovely” …DOESN’T ERASE THE AGREEMENT, THE TIME, THE WORK, OR THE DATE I BLOCKED OFF FOR YOU. So, for anyone reading: The session happened, the gallery was delivered on time The initial feedback was positive Later, the couple decided to hire someone else and requested a refund of a clearly non-refundable retainer This review came after I politely stood by the contract they signed and the work already completed I genuinely wish Avital and Bar an amazing wedding day and hope they find someone whose style feels like a perfect fit. At the same time, I’ll always stand by my work, my policies, and the value of doing honest business — without trading money for a “good” review.
