About this vendor
Here you are on your wedding day and in the whirlwind of blushing roses, silk organza, parent tears and family kisses. You find the hours are slipping by as quickly as the sliced chocolate cake (that took 4 months to find). The ritual unwinds. You recite your vows. You kiss at the altar. You laugh. You cry and then you wake the next morning wondering... what just happened? But you remember... you hired a great photographer and snuggle back under the sheets with your husband.

Ingrid was hands down the best choice I made when it came to our wedding. I was a photography major in college, and it was really hard for me to find a wedding photographer whose work I found truly beautiful and meaningful.
We're almost at our one year anniversary, and as I was thinking about making a paper book of photos, I realized I had never left her the review she deserved!!
Ingrid's photographs are stunning. They're not posed or cheesy, nor are they overly stylized in the Instagram filter way that's really popular right now. She has a style that's artistic, not purely documentary, but still completely natural. She has a knack for capturing photos where people look completely their beautiful selves. I think it comes from how she used to work exclusively in film, where you can't waste shots, and you have to always be alert for just the right moment because you only get one chance.
Our wedding was a Hindu/Catholic fusion wedding that was pretty crazy -- multiple days of events, and we had two different ceremonies in one day, so we were constantly rushing from place to place and changing outfits, on a very tight timeline. That's a really difficult way for a photographer to work, but Ingrid was spot on -- she got amazing photographs incredibly efficiently, and she rolled with the punches and the craziness without ever seeming stressed or like she wasn't enjoying what she was doing. She herded our crazy big families into photos and was somehow in every place that she needed to be all at once! She was such a calming and funny presence in that day, and she made me and my husband feel really comfortable in front of the camera even though we're both awkward people.
Truly, I could not have asked for a better photographer. I know that my wedding photographs will still be just as wonderful decades down the line, because true skill like Ingrid's is timeless! Ingrid doesn't spend as much time promoting herself as some other wedding photographers, but I think that's a good thing, because she truly does love creating art and making sure people have photographs to remember their wedding -- she's not doing it for the fame or wedding magazine features. You won't regret hiring her!
I absolutely adore our photographer! She is in the range of the higher priced photographers but as I knew I wanted amazing photographs I had planned on spending more on the photographer.
Her photo's are of the best quality, artistic and she is a genius at capturing the moment. Working with her was very easy, she gave just enough direction in a way that I think kept everyone natural.
We haven't received our wedding photo's yet but our engagement photos were so beautiful I know the wedding ones will be equally so and do a good job of capturing the entire day.
Ingrid is so wonderful! She's professional yet down to earth. Very easy to work with, she blends in this the guests, yet she takes a million photos. The photos are amazing all the way around! I would give her 6 stars if I could.
Ingrid Nelson, of Myrtle & Marjoram, is lovely to work with. Her artistry is truly amazing and speaks for itself. If you want real FILM to capture your event, she's the gal for you. She's easy & fun to work with and makes the wedding planning process stress free knowing that every special moment will be captured naturally, not by a posed position. I give her 5 BRIGHT stars and look forward to using her again for special times in our lives! xoxo
We love our photographer! Ingrid takes amazing photos with a personal touch. We had fun getting to know her in the months leading up to the wedding and she worked her magic on the big day. Totally professional, talented and personable - she really offers the whole package. We couldn't be happier with our choice.
My husband and I got married in October 2010 in the Bay Area and were lucky enough to book Ingrid as our photographer. Aside from being an exceptional photographer who took absolutely gorgeous photos, she was so professional and sweet. Everyone at our wedding loved her and we got so many compliments on our engagement photos which we had displayed. Every time she walked in to a room, she totally put everyone at ease and made the whole experience so much more fun and enjoyable. I would recommend her without hesitation to anyone!
I cannot believe how lucky I was to have Myrtle And Marjoram shoot my Wedding. I can see why they win best Wedding Photographer of Northern California every year! Ingrid is a delightful creature that makes you forget that she is even there! She only shoots film, Yes Film and that makes for the most romantic pictures and clarity.
She is a Pro and I can highly recommend her. If you book her soon , since she books out every year.Thank you Ingrid!
Ingrid Nelson, the photographer, is incredibly sweet and amazingly talented. She met with us far in advance of the wedding date to make sure we were a good match and to get a feel for what we wanted. She checked up on us several times before the wedding as well, asking us what we needed and helping with timelines and ideas. On the day of she was perfectly calm and composed (while I was not) and managed to keep the bridal party and family focused and on time so she could get the shots that she wanted. Her pictures are gorgeous! She always new where to get the perfect light and background for a shot. I love her!
