Mystic Music Events

Mystic Music Events brings live strings to luxury weddings and high-end events across Mystic, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, and New York, from a single violinist or cellist to a full string quartet. We're based in Mystic, CT, and play often along the shoreline and in New London County, Hartford, and New Haven. Venues we've played include Ocean House, Watch Hill Chapel, the Inn at Mystic, Mystic Seaport Museum, Mystic Yachting Club at Willow Point, Saltwater Farm Vineyard, Stone Acres Farm, and Branford House Mansion in Groton. Choose the lineup that fits your day: solo violin or cello for an intimate ceremony, a string duo or trio, a string quartet, or violin or cello with piano. Every musician is top conservatory-trained and performs on concert stages as well as at weddings. Founder and cellist Tom Readett studied at Juilliard before completing his M.M. at Manhattan School of Music. Ceremony music is our specialty. We help you choose pieces for the prelude, processional, and recessional, then time each one to its moment: the bridal party, your walk down the aisle, the kiss, your exit. We also play cocktail hours and receptions, with classical standards and string arrangements of pop, rock, and contemporary songs. Our library holds about 1,000 charts, from Pachelbel's Canon and "Clair de Lune" to "A Thousand Years," "Can't Help Falling in Love," Taylor Swift's "Love Story," Coldplay's "Viva La Vida," and "Wildest Dreams" from Bridgerton. If a song matters to you and we don't play it yet, we can arrange it. Sound is included with every package, along with a microphone for your officiant.
