Nancy is an incredibly talented photographer. Her photos are works of art. She photographed two of my sisters' weddings and the photos were absolutely beautiful! I cannot recommend Nancy highly enough. We had originally hired her to shoot our May 2020 wedding, but when COVID made us switch our plans to having a small elopement ceremony followed by a larger wedding celebration in May 2021, she was extremely accommodating and happy to do both. Nancy and her assistants (Bethany in 2020 and Daniel in 2021) were all friendly yet professional, organized, and punctual. As people who aren't used to being photographed they did a great job patiently directing us. Leading up to the event, Nancy was always quick to respond to emails and phone calls and made an effort to learn exactly what we were looking for. Despite the fact that our events were in the height of the wedding season, we got about 25 edited pictures back within a couple of days, and the rest of the photos about 6 weeks later. We were also shocked by how reasonable her prices are considering the quality of her work. Most importantly, the photographs they take are absolutely stunning. We wanted to find a balance between artsy, candid, and posed, with an emphasis on capturing the emotion of our wedding. Nancy did all of that and more. They made everyone and everything look beautiful, and the compliments from our friends and families on the quality of the pictures keep rolling in. She does use various degrees of filtering and editing on her photos, but it is always to a positive effect and they never feel fake or overdone.

We couldn't be happier with our choice in photographer for our wedding! Nancy and her assistant capture every part of our wedding beautifully, including all of the small details that I didn't know I'd want pictures of, but am so glad to have them now. After speaking with 8 photographers being frustrated and then finally from the moment I spoke with Nancy on the phone and just seeing her work. I had no doubt in my mind how beautiful our wedding photos would turn out to be. That has now become an understatement she captured the absolutely most magical magazine worthy photos. My husband is not photogenic at all and a little shy, Bethany her second Photographer made him feel so comfortable from getting ready to the photos afterwards; Nancy and her are a dream team. Ofcourse Weddings don't go off with some hiccups with family or vendors; it happens prepare yourself.. but with a photographer like Nancy you barely notice. Her loving friendly cool collective attitude and rockstar second photographer will make your day a fairytale. I could go on about how professional and a joy to have her on my big day was. But the facts are her pricing is wonderful, for her work she should be charging 3 times as much. Her style tells you a story of your day, we all go back and forth wanting a videographer and those are bloody expensive with Nancy you won't even feel the need to have one. We barely even noticed she was going around taking photos we didn't have a camera in our face saying look here do this. She let us do our own thing which made the day even more special, we didn't feel like a puppet which I'm in the Beauty industry the amount of brides telling me how they felt like the photographer put them on a wind up string is vast. Look at the end of the day you want something to remember you don't wanna feel like a stressed out bride or groom not only did I feel I had the most incredible photographer I felt like I had a friend at the end of the day. No questions asked Nancy and Bethany are the #1 choice just the joy love and passion they have for what they do what's better than that; I'll tell you it shows in their work!! We can't thank them enough they truly were a puzzle piece that made our day INCREDIBLE.

We recently had Nancy and her assistant Bethann as the photographers for our wedding and were incredibly happy with their work. We just viewed our gallery this weekend and all I can say is that we are really delighted at how Nancy and her assistant captured the essence of us and the wedding! We had no time for any formal photos so it was up to Nancy to get great candid shots in a photo journalistic style and she did. So many genuine, sweet, fun, and crazy moments that capture the event so perfectly. Most of the event was at night which poses a challenge as flash photography can make people look bad but our photographs are great. Nancy was also very professional and sweet -- so nice to work with and very affordable.

Absolutely amazing job! Nancy did our wedding and was a true pro. Before our wedding she went over all the details with us and made sure she had down all the pictures that we wanted. On the wedding day, she was very sweet, positive, and professional, and gave great direction on the photos. You can tell she has a really great eye and is a true artist. She and her assistant did not stop for the entire eight hours and took constant photos all night documentary style. Phenomenal!!! We had such a wonderful time getting to know Nancy and Bethany and sharing our wedding day with them. We have all divorced parents and knew the group photos would be difficult, but Nancy just went with the flow and helped make sure we got all of the shots we needed and wanted. When our guests arrived early, forcing me inside for pictures before the wedding, she quickly made a new game plan and we ended up with wonderful shots that weren't on the original shot list. I loved Nancy's photography from the moment I viewed it online. She is a fantastic photographer and knows exactly how to capture a moment. She performed both the engagement photo session and wedding photos. She was able to capture moments which is something that I think is so hard for most photographers to do organically. Instead most photographers attempt to create moments, which comes across as posed and that was not the look I wanted. My husband and I just had fun hanging out and every once and a while Nancy would as for us to look at the camera, however, mostly she just said "Got it". It was fantastic. It was such an amazing experience and I cannot recommend her enough.

Simply said, Nancy is fantastic. She did such a wonderful job with our wedding photography- she captured our day perfectly and looking through our photos brings my husband and I so much happiness. I have nothing but great things to say about Nancy! She was so attentive to us on our wedding day and got the most beautiful shots of us! We did a walk-through of our venue about a week before the wedding to make sure we knew all of the places to take pictures. This really came in handy because we were so pressed for time on the wedding day and every shot needed to count. Good photographs of my wedding were very important to me. Upon reading other reviews I decided upon Nancy. She was very responsive, great to work with, and amenable. During the wedding we didn't even notice the pictures being taken. It truly told a photo-journalistic type story of our meaningful wedding. We do not have good video so the photos are treasured. I would like to use her again for other family photos.

I love this woman! As an artist myself, I can attest to the quality of Nancy's photographs. They are absolutely the best I've ever seen. And her personality is wonderful! Nancy is absolutely one of the best decisions we made for our wedding. She was always prompt, sweet, communicative, and incredibly talented. Our first experience with Nancy was our engagement photo shoot. She was incredibly flexible when we changed the location at the last minute and we had so much fun working with her. Our engagement photos were phenomenal and we received compliments from absolutely everyone who saw them. People asked us how much we paid Nancy and were astonished at the reasonableness of her prices. After our engagement session, Nancy met with us before the wedding at the venue to do a walk through. There, we met one of her other photographers who was also incredibly impressive. Nancy and her colleague were very honest and knowledgeable. At our wedding, Nancy and her team were just totally amazing. She made everyone comfortable in photos and dealt with obstacles with grace. In addition, Nancy listened when I asked for certain kinds of photographs and delivered on all of her promises. She also helped us to find a photo booth at my mother's request. When choosing a photographer, my husband and I spent hours on websites like the Knot and Wedding Wire. Nancy's photos were by far our favorite and her photos of us are just incredible. I will definitely be hiring her again for other important life events. If you are a bride looking for an excellent photographer at a reasonable price, you would be an idiot not to hire Nancy Anderson Cordell. She will be your favorite vendor at your wedding. I just can't rave enough about how special Nancy is! I could go on forever.

We have loved working with Nancy for our wedding! She did our engagement photos in Baltimore, MD which turned out beautifully. She found places (allies, random little fields, fountains, etc) That gave our shoot some diversity besides just your average building/harbor shots you would expect. It looked like we were in a park, in a field, in a garden, etc as well! We used those photos for everything from christmas photos to our save the dates, and she loved hearing about everything we used our photos for! Nancy is a very pleasant person to be around, she made us feel very comfortable, and gave us some really great tips about how to make our wedding run more smoothly and what we could do to help her get the very best shots. Nancy was very responsive to all of my emails throughout the year we worked together and was very flexible (she lives in Annapolis, MD, and was willing to travel to Fredricksburg, VA where our wedding was)! I think my favorite thing she has done (for both the engagement and the wedding photos) is promptly sending a "sneak peak" photo that same day. I have NO idea how she did it for the wedding, as she had a much longer drive home than we did, but we got a fully edited wedding photo texted to us before we even got home directly after the wedding! Nancy has little tricks up her sleeve (like the sneak peaks and tips and tricks for the wedding shoots she's always eager to share) to make everything that much more special and personable. She listens to what you want and she makes sure it happens. I definitely reccomend!

We first met Nancy over four years ago when she took our engagement photos...We met again a few months later, when Nancy took our wedding photos...We met again two years later when she took photos of our baby girl for her newborn photo session and we met Nancy the next two consecutive years for our family holiday card photos. From the get-go, Nancy has been nothing but wonderful! ENGAGEMENT PHOTOS We were so pleased with our first session for our engagement photos that we kept going back to Nancy. We took our engagement photos in DC - in Union Station and around the Capitol. What she was able to capture in those photos is something I never could have imagined. Our friends and family continue to admire and compliment the photos. We have several of the photos framed in our house and I still look at them in awe. WEDDING PHOTOS My husband and I got married on a 100-ft yacht. The yacht had three different floors and each floor did not allow for much wiggle room. Nancy -- all on her own, with no assistance whatsoever -- was able to negotiate the movement of the boat and climbing up and down the stairs to take the most amazing photos, ensuring that every magical moment was captured. She was also able to organize my friends and family in a sweet but firm manner (which is a feat in itself) and made sure not to waste too much time so that we could all get back to the party. I also have to mention that the "getting ready" photos also turned out so well! I was getting ready in a hotel room with my bridal party and my husband was getting ready on our boat. Nancy took photos of the women, then ran over to the boat which was about 5 blocks away and took photos of the men and then headed over to the yacht to take photos of the wedding decorations before the guests arrived. And this was all before the wedding began! She did the job of three people and she didn't miss a beat. FAMILY PHOTOS I know that this should be a wedding photo review, but I would be remiss if I didn't mention what an incredible job she has done with the newborn photos for our daughter and the family photos (dog included) that she's taken for our holiday cards. Nancy is just so knowledgeable about what really makes a good photo -- what lighting is best; what position is most natural; what props work and don't work; how to get a baby to stop crying or smile; how to get a dog to sit still for a photo; recognizing that the unprepared moments are the ones that make for the best photos. I could go on and on but I hope you get the picture (ha!). What we love most about Nancy (besides the fact that she is so nice and sweet) is that she goes above and beyond for her clients. The turnaround for getting the digital photos is unbelievable. They show up in your inbox in just a few days and then she sends you a CD with all the photos as well. Nancy continues to perfect her skills. And she has already grown so much since we first met. Photography is her passion and it shows in the product. I cannot say enough wonderful words about Nancy. Nancy photographed my June 2014 wedding in Old Town Alexandria and it was such a pleasure working with her! She was very professional and always available to discuss any and all of my photography questions. She was very thorough with her answers and put my mind at ease. Two weeks before the wedding, we met at the site and did a walkthrough of the event, so there were no surprises on the big day. This made our wedding day go very smooth. She was prompt and professional at all times and she made my husband and me feel relaxed while getting our picture taken and took so many beautiful pictures of our wedding. First of all, her cheery, easy going personality was a calming presence throughout the wedding. She was also extra cautious to be out of sight, which was hard to do at my tiny venue, but somehow she managed to do so, while capturing beautiful and intimate moments during the ceremony and reception. She was extremely accommodating to all our requests. She was also very prompt in communication from the first time I contacted her. Her photos are all incredible works of art. In the 2000 images I got from her, each image was not only beautiful but also full of the essence of each moment. There were no awkwardly posed shots, and even candid shots looked artistic. I've gotten so many compliments from everyone I've shared my photos with. On top of all that, her prices are amazing!! For $1695, she and her assistant worked with us for 4 hours, and we were given all the images and rights to about 2000 photos, which all look amazing. Nancy is too good to be true, but she truly is!
