My husband and I got married on June 18, 2022, and I bought my wedding dress from Arlet Bridal! Due to Covid-19, my wedding was postponed for 1.5 years, and I had gained some weight! I took the dress back to Arlet Bridal to ask what they suggest I do (buy another dress or try to fix my dream dress somehow), and they recommended Nany Lamaset (located in Rancho Cucamonga) to have alterations. Nany saw us immediately and added some sheer material to the back of my dress, and it fit!
On top of this, Nany is a one-stop shop. She hemmed/ altered the length of my dress, and she cleaned and steamed it so that it looked in the best possible shape.
Although I purchased my dress elsewhere, Nany Lamaset sells beautiful wedding dresses, Tux/ suites for men, and accessories, etc. She also provides dress preservation services as well.
I highly recommend Nany Lamaset for all your wedding needs!
Nany was recommended to me by many friends, and I'm so glad I listened! She altered my wedding dress and added a bustle, altered my husband's suit, and preserved my wedding dress! She is attentive to detail and great at what she does. She styled my bustle the exact way I wanted it. I really recommend any alterations for pieces that you care about to be done here.
Nany Lamasat is truly the best wedding dress tailor! I was very nervous to take my wedding dress to get altered but she provided me ease and confidence in her work through our conversations and her previous work since I had brought 2 dresses for her to alter prior to altering my wedding dress. She always had a solution to any issues or concerns I had with my dresses and she altered them seamlessly. My wedding dress required a lot of work because it had many layers, beading/sequence, and it was very long, but she did a great job altering it to fit my body much better. The dress was already gorgeous but she made it 10 times even more gorgeous! I highly recommend Nany Lamasat!
I've gone to Nany's 3 times, and two out of three experiences were negative. Every time has been very expensive. The first was a $300 dress bought online, she charged me almost $400 for a hem and take it in. The second was a $75 dress online, she charged me $80 for a hem and add a stitch to the neckline. The work was poorly done. To put this into perspective, I was quoted $10-15 elsewhere recently for a hem.
The final time was my wedding gown. She charged me $1,080 for basic alterations -- a hem, bustle, add bra cups, and bring in the waist. I ended up paying $980 since I paid in cash (don't make that mistake because then you can't do a charge back on your card). I was desperate to take it somewhere, and Nany was my only choice since other seamstresses were booked up. That should have been a red flag.
She does the hem right in front of you, which is very scary. She takes a pair of scissors and starts cutting up your dress right in front of your eyes. I could have done this myself. You think "she's going to clean up the messy scissor lines later behind the scenes" but no. She charged $300 for a hem that she did literally in front of me in 5 minutes. Very messy and scary. She also cut it about an inch too short, which drove me crazy. She cut into my dress before telling me the price, I felt compelled to pay and go through her. Looking back, that is highly unprofessional. Don't ever cut someone's garment until they've agreed to the price. There is a huge lack of transparency here.
Her alterations were so poorly done. My dress was a designer gown that retails about $3000. It fit me almost perfectly, so there's no way it needed $1000 worth of alterations. She's a scam artist. She didn't bring it in enough, so it was falling off me all night. She also didn't properly sew in the bra cups, causing that part of the dress to collapse onto itself and unevenly put weight on the boning. This caused problems all night.
The worst was the bustle however. I paid $350 for her to make my dress look hideous. I sent her messages expressing my concern about the bustle and told her in person I wasn't happy with how it was done. Buttons were also falling off, so not only was it ugly, it wasn't even functional. She kept saying she couldn't do it any other way, which is a huge red flag. There are many types of bustles, and she doesn't know how to do any of them.
Take a look at the photo attached. You can see my dress has a beautiful long train with tons of detail. The middle photo is how Nany bustled it -- it's frumpy, ugly, and hides all the beautiful detail of the train. I hated it so much I left there in tears.
I started calling other places immediately and found a bridal specialist located in Temecula who squeezed me into her busy schedule. Even though she had 12 hours of work on her plate that day, she managed to see me because I was so desperate. I drove 2 hours total and spent several hours in Temecula while this other woman worked her magic. The third pic shows the final bustle that Nany is not capable of doing. Look at how elegant and flattering it is. That's exactly how a bustle should look -- not the monstrosity you see in the 2nd pic.
The other woman said the alterations were so poorly done by Nany and that Nany overcharged me by at least $500. She was appalled at how poorly the bra cups were sewn in and said the bustle Nany did "gives her nightmares."
Not to mention Nany's shop is hot and stuffy and you have no privacy when you're changing.
Nany was SO wonderful to work with!! My dress was ordered many sizes too big (ugh!) and Nany came to the rescue!! She was so sweet, kind and helpful throughout the entire alteration process. She is an AMAZING seamstress that was able to completely rework my dress to fit my body.
Thank you Nany for being the best!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!
I'm very picky. I spent a year trying to find a wedding dress I wanted and liked. Finally I gave up, it had to be made. So I found Nany and brought her pictures, told her my vision and she made it happen. My dress, one of a kind, totally me and all thanks to her!
Nevine is incredible! If you are looking to get your wedding dress altered, you must come here! I had the best experience here. Nevine is magical, she really made my wedding dresses fit like a glove and I felt so beautiful. She listens and also recommends what she thinks would be best and I’m so glad I listened to her because the dresses came out even better then I could have imagined. Trusting someone with your wedding dress can be scary but Nevine made me feel so comfortable and I knew my dresses were in the right hands. I highly recommend!!
Nevine is amazing! She was kind, patient, friendly and fast. Her pricing was totally fair and I would recommend her to anyone. I had to get my wedding gown altered 3 weeks before my wedding and she actually made my anxiety about it completely disappear. The dress looks perfect you can’t tell it had to be taken in like 4 sizes.
I was super impressed by her 5 star rating and at first a little skeptical but now I realize why she has that rating. She has earned it! Thank you Nevine ❤️
Wedding anxiety is so real! I was a mess of nerves and anxiety prior to my wedding, and my dress was a huge source of this. My dream wedding dress purchased from a different vendor arrived after 6 months of waiting, and the way the buttons on the back were originally structured they were gaping and looked horrible. I found Nany through a Yelp recommendation, and she turned my entire experience around into a positive one!! For all you stressed out anxious brides - leave your worries at the door with Nany because she is a miracle worker! She re-shaped my dress to fit me perfectly, and sewed on more buttons to stop the gaping. I even gained weight between fittings (Thanks COVID) and she easily let out the dress a little to fit me perfectly once again. She is the kindest woman who makes you feel like a princess bride! She saw how anxious I was that the buttons would not look right and she rushed me in the very next day for my alterations. Out of all my vendors I have worked with I would recommend Nany, she is seriously the best. Thank you Nany for all your amazing work.
