The Cowgirl Museum was the site for my wedding reception, and it was so fun and pretty! The price for renting the museum, given its location and the going rates for the other muse...
ums/venues in the area, was extremely reasonable. The lobby and atrium of the museum is very spacious, and the rotunda in the center of the building is gorgeous and lets in a good deal of natural light. Off-site catering is the only option, and they have a list of around 10 approved caterers, though any restaurant can be added to that list if they pay a small fee and agree to the museum terms of food service (no open flame, etc.). The museum has a full-time event coordinator who is super helpful - though not a wedding coordinator, she helped a great deal with pulling together the logistics and set up of the museum and vendors for our reception, and was happy to answer any questions, any time. Additionally, she has a list of vendors she has worked with before and can give you here recommendations or warnings for using them again.
The coolest party of the night was probably that the upstairs galleries and exhibits were open for my guests to explore and view, which was an awesome way for them to pass the time while the wedding party was still at the church taking pictures.
Because it is a museum, there are some unusual rules (no open flames, no red wine, etc.) in place as a precaution against damaging the premises, but they are nothing that get in the way. We used LED candles with our centerpieces and served white wine and beer, and it was all just lovely.
I can't say enough how much I loved having my wedding reception at this location - I highly highly recommend it!!
