The Venue was amazing and the staff went above and beyond all expectations.
The staff at the National Railroad Museum were wonderful! They were extremely helpful through the whole planning process. The ceremony was gorgeous in front of the trains. And our pictures that were taken all around the grounds turned out amazing! It's such a unique place for a wedding. I'm so glad we had our ceremony here!!!
We wanted to have our reception at the National Railroad Museum as a little more unique type of venue. It was the perfect combination of vintage and classic. The staff was amazingly accommodating- the wedding coordinator met at our convenience and was extremely flexible and open to changes we wanted made, the layout of the reception, getting in to decorate early, etc. Absolutely no complaints! All of our guests LOVED the train rides during the cocktail hour and enjoyed looking at all of the trains during the reception. I was concerned that perhaps all the distractions would take guests away from our big day, but I don't think that happened at all- they appreciated something to do during the cocktail hour, downtime around dinner, and breaks from dancing. The only "negative" which is just the nature of this type of venue is that as it is a museum and not a typical reception venue- you have to bring in a lot of items- linens, place setting rentals, decorations, chairs (they do have metal folding chairs available to use), etc. There is a list of approved vendors for catering that you choose from which is a pretty extensive list and we were very happy with our catering choice. I would absolutely recommend the NRRM as a venue option for a wedding reception!
This was the PERFECT place for our wedding reception. So many guests commented on how distinctive and fun the location was...there was something for everyone. It added a sophistication and uniqueness to our day that we could not have gotten with a regular hall. Because they are a museum they have different rules that you must abide by but nothing was terrible. The special event coordinator, Deanna, was organized and I knew that everything would go well. We added train rides during cocktail hour which the guests enjoyed because it gave them something fun to do while they waited for dinner. Overall, it was perfect and the pictures should be great!
It was so unique, we got so many compliments and our pictures turned out great! It was a really original location, and with jazz standards playing in the background, it was exactly the sophisticated atmosphere that we wanted.
