Naturally Raw On Location Bridal Hair & Makeup

I booked Amber and Lizzie for hair and makeup for my wedding on September 16th. They both did an amazing job! Amber and Lizzie are both so patient and sweet. My hair is naturally very straight and soft, so it's very difficult to hold curls. I really wanted to have my hair down for my wedding and Amber prepped everything with my hair so well. I was super impressed with how the curls held up throughout the day. Amber also knew I was disappointed when my florist forgot to bring small flowers to put in my hair, and she gave us the suggestion to have someone grab a small bouquet from Kroger and use that instead. I would have never thought to do this without her there and I was so happy I was still able to have flowers in my hair to keep my vision for the day. My MOH chose to do an updo from Amber and it was GORGEOUS. Her hair held up the entire night and she even slept on it and it still looked good the next morning. Lizzie was the assistant Amber brought to help with makeup, and she was such a gem for dealing with me. I'm very difficult when it comes to makeup, and Lizzie never once complained when I went back and forth on what I wanted in our trials. I even decided the day of the wedding that I wanted an entirely different makeup look, and Lizzie had no problem with it. She listened to what I wanted and the final look was beautiful and very natural looking. I still looked like myself on my wedding day, and the makeup lasted throughout the night. My mom and bridesmaids all looked beautiful and loved the work they did! Thank you Amber and Lizzie for everything!

Amber was incredible! As two men, my husband and I don't have a lot of experience with wedding day hair and makeup styling, but we wanted to make sure the women in our wedding party were treated to a stress-free and relaxing day. Amber understood the aesthetics of our wedding ceremony perfectly and developed a great rapport with the women in our wedding party. She was responsive to each of their individual personalities, so that the hair and makeup was cohesive and beautiful without sacrificing what makes these women unique. Even last minute ideas--one of the groomswomen thought to incorporate part of her bouquet as a small, subtle touch in her hair--were welcomed and expertly realized! The end result was flawless, and we couldn't have been happier with Amber's styling!

We hired Amber and Elizabeth for our March 4th wedding - and we're so happy we did! There was a snowstorm the night before, and the roads were terrible - but they both showed up on time, and did an amazing job with our attendants hair and makeup. Amber did my hair and makeup for my wedding this October and did a fabulous job! I don't wear a lot of makeup so having my makeup done always makes me nervous, but I didn't need to worry. I looked beautiful for my wedding!

If you have curly hair, or even if you don't, Amber is your woman. She knows how to work with natural curls and make them look perfect. She also does a great job with straight hair: she knows how to handle both finer hair and thicker hair, and adjusts her approach based on the weather. She is so friendly and really listens to what you're envisioning. She was also easy to communicate with and extremely prompt on the day of the wedding. I could not be happier with my decision to hire Amber for our wedding. She and Elizabeth did a fantastic job with hair and makeup for our large group. No one felt rushed, and the styles truly lasted all day! They did a fantastic job enhancing everyone's natural beauty and we all got so many compliments on our hair and makeup. Amber provided on-site hair and makeup for myself and my bridesmaids. My hair turned out so fantastic - better than what I was envisioning. All of the bridesmaids got different styles and each one was perfection. Amber had a very calming, laid-back energy, but she was also super efficient with her time. She listened well to what everyone wanted and adjusted as needed. I'm also so glad that I did a trial appointment beforehand because we were able to test things out, and also she gave me some great beauty tips that came in handy on the day. I also love that she uses natural makeup and hair products. I would definitely recommend Amber!

Amber was amazing! She nailed the look I was going for and was the most perfect hair and makeup artist if you’re interested in beautiful natural makeup looks. I was hell bent on looking like myself and she did amazing. The makeup artist she brought with her to do the bridesmaids was also amazing! Each bridesmaid got to show her an inspiration picture and she was able to do anything without hesitation. I loved that because each of my bridesmaids had unique natural looks that they got to choose based on what they feel most beautiful in. Loved them both!!! Book naturally raw!!

Amber was a miracle worker. I had the worst time trying to book a hair/makeup person because of my date and not only did she fit me in but she did an amazing job based on just a few pictures I showed her as we didn't have time for a rehearsal beforehand. Also, I forgot my lipstick day of, and she put together a gorgeous new color for me based on what she had. Can't recommend enough.

Talented, kind and calm are the best words to describe Amber. Her ability to emphasize natural beauty with hair styling and makeup was such a gift on my wedding day. She worked with confidence to guide everyone on our choices, talking through options and really listening to what we wanted. She handled a few last minute hiccups (hotel fridge froze flowers intended for my hair) like a pro! From the trial to my wedding day, she made the whole experience feel fun and effortless. Amber styled me and my wedding party and did an amazing job! Everyone was very happy with their hair and makeup, and I loved my natural makeup look. She also did a great job getting everyone ready on time, even with a few people in the wedding party wanting to make a some additions, like adding lashes. In addition to being excellent at her job, she is also incredibly kind, personable, and all-around great to work with!

Highly recommend Amber! My hair was just what I wanted and all the girls loved theirs as well. Amber was also great to work with, we even had a mix-up on time, so we weren't ready when she got there and she was so patient and nice. I didn't even have a trial with her, as I'm an out-of-town bride, and it still turned out just what I wanted just by showing pictures and describing my vision.

Amber was so great to work with! Me and my bridal party wanted to look natural and like ourselves and Amber did exactly that. She made us all feel so comfortable and confident and was so professional. She worked on a variety of skin and hair types, including my grandma, who looked amazing and so natural! Our makeup stayed on all night (even through tears) and our hair looked great even after dancing! I would recommend Amber to anyone!!

Amber was amazing!! She arrived on-time and was even able to finish up everyone's hair and make-up ahead of schedule. Everyone's hair and make-up was beautiful and so natural looking. Amber was amazing with hair and makeup. She did hair and makeup for me, my bridal party, and my mom. I thought she did a great job finding a style for each girl that fit their look and personality. In addition, she was just a very calming presence the day of and was great to have around. I was a little stressed about not having enough hair to do a full on updo, but she managed to create something beautiful that lasted the whole night (and the next morning lol). The makeup was exactly what I wanted too- I still looked like me, just an enhanced version :)

Amber styled my hair and makeup for my wedding beautifully. She is joyful, cheerful, and very skilled at what she does! I have very sensitive skin and she helped me find makeup products that were long-lasting, photo-friendly, and good for my skin. I had a really hard time finding someone in the Metro-Detroit/Ann Arbor area who was willing to work with good-for-your skin products for bridal makeup. I would recommend Amber to anyone! But, if you want someone to style your hair beautifully, do your makeup beautifully and tastefully for your wedding, AND use products that won't harm your skin or your hair, I would especially recommend Amber.

Amber did a lovely job on my hair for my wedding! My braid was beautiful and stayed put throughout the day and evening. She also does very natural bridal makeup, and I got to experience airbrush makeup for the first time! It worked really well for me as someone who is t used to a lot of makeup or foundation on my face. My best friend's comment was "You look so beautiful! And you still look like you!!" which I think sums it up well. She offered a consultation appointment prior to our wedding, and I highly recommend taking advantage of that opportunity. In addition to working with me to find the right look, she gave me some pointers on how to improve my skin hydration , which over time has made my skin happier and healthier. I especially appreciate her kindness and flexibility during times when our wedding date had to change.

I signed a contract with Amber for my wedding. Subsequently I was sent an email stating: “I wanted to touch base with you about DATE. A bride I had for next month had to reschedule due to the Covid pandemic on your wedding date. This has been a year of constant changes for my wedding business. :( Good news though, I have a make-up artist who is amazing to fill in for me if this is something your interested in? I feel confident she can meet your expectations but I wanted to let you know that I wouldn't be able to help. Let me know your thoughts or concerns. :) Ambee” This would be equivalent to a venue saying that someone else wanted your venue for the day you booked it, so you can no longer get married there on that date, but they know someone who has a venue that is available. I understand that COVID-19 has caused a lot of uncertainty and stress, but at the same time I expect to be treated with respect and have a legal contract honored unless there is an agreed upon alternate plan. Amber did not apologize or understand that what she did was wrong. She did offer a backup, but after she broke the contract I didn’t have trust in a recommendation from her or that the other person wouldn’t also break the contract. As a bride it is extremely frustrating for a vendor to cancel on you and have to scramble to find a new vendor that you trust.

Amber is an artist! She has a true gift and uses it well. She did my hair and makeup for my wedding day and she helped me discover how beautiful I am in the eyes of God and my husband. I very highly recommend her.

Amber was wonderful to work with. We asked her to do the hair and make up for me (the bride), my sister, and two moms. She was patient with all my questions and managed the different expectations of each person so well. We all looked amazing from 7 am to midnight without a hair out of place. Even through tears and lots of dancing! I love that she uses natural products. Her make up was so light and seamless, I forgot it was on and I don't wear make up every day. I highly recommend her!

I had a great experience with Amber for my trial and my wedding! I went to her salon for my trial and she came to my house the day of my wedding. She listened to what I wanted and transformed those instructions into gorgeous hair and makeup! I couldn't have been happier with how they turned out. Amber is laid back and easy to talk to, too!

I see Amber for my regular cuts/color, so she was my first choice for my wedding day hair and I’m so happy she was! It rained on our wedding day (good luck I guess) and my hair style held up through it all. My hair does not do well in humidity, but it amazing all night. I also love her use of natural products and friendly personality. I highly recommend her for weddings, events and regular hair care!

Amber was awesome, easy to get along with and did such a great job! I could tell she really loves her job and finds joy in it, which definitely makes the whole process enjoyable. Amber and her team are absolutely incredible. I had 7 ladies (including myself) for hair and makeup on my wedding day. She worked with everyone and was smiling and helping ease any tensions the whole way through. I also have to mention that I loved the way she did my makeup. I still looked like myself! But with airbrushed skin and long lashes and a natural lip color like I wanted. I stumbled upon her while searching for makeup and hair on The Knot and I am so glad I did. I would hire her 100 times over.

Amber did hair and make-up for me and four bridesmaids at my wedding this fall, and she did a phenomenal job. The hair and make-up looked flawless, and I got tons of compliments about the hair in particular. I'm not someone who does hair/make-up often, and Amber did a great job helping me decide how to craft my look. She was always super nice and professional in person, and she was very responsive via email. I would definitely recommend!

Amber is absolutely wonderful! Amber did my hair and make up for my wedding along with the hair of my three flower girls and their moms. She was easy to communicate with and put me at ease - I do not generally wear a lot of make up or spend a lot of time with my hair, so I was pretty nervous about achieving a bridal look, while still looking like myself - Amber listened and knew what to do - I looked like a soft beautiful princess version of my usual self! I was thrilled! I received so many compliments. Amber was also amazing with the girls and made the morning of preparation calm, easy and pleasant. I have only gotten my hair done up a few times but have never liked the results until I met Amber. She knew exactly how to work with my virgin hair and it even stayed curly until the next day! I also loved my first experience with airbrush. She does such a great job and is a true professional of her craft. You will not regret working with her for your special day.

Amber is amazing with hair and makeup. She is sweet and kind and made me feel special as a bride. She wore a braid in her hair on the morning of, just to match the styles that the bridal party was getting, it was a very nice touch. I showed her pictures of the styles I wanted, and she made everything look amazing! Amber uses nice and gentle makeup products, which was great for mine and my sister's sensitive skin. She's very detail oriented and quick to respond to make sure you are pleased as a customer. She was able to accommodate everyone getting their hair and makeup done, with no worry of running over the allotted time. She handled it all herself, and it seemed like she was in three places at once. She made me look like the best and most beautiful version of myself. She is an artist, and I only have good things to say about her!

Amber was amazing!! She managed to get all our hair (9 of us!) and make up (3) done with perfect timing all on her own. Her talent is incredible - my little nieces had Pinterest ideas w them and she did a great job taking their input haha. The airbrush makeup was perfect as well - I was concerned about not looking natural and even my now husband said she did an awesome job. Her prices are reasonable and since we were in Ann Arbor there were no travel fees, however she has a minimum of $400 (easy for us). She even dealt w our awkward photography pictures and the was super friendly and professional :) Highly recommend her!

I didn't even do a trial and Amber and her assistant nailed the hair and makeup look for my wedding. Seriously would not have changed a thing. I live out of state and just sent some photos of me and some ideas, brought them the day of and described the vibe and bam it happened (with some tweaks to the makeup, but just speak up and they can change it!). They did a number of different hair and makeup looks on my bridesmaids and some other family members, and I think everyone got what they wanted, these ladies can do quite a range. The only inconvenient part is that it was cash only, which is not fun to deal with on a wedding day.

Amber did the make-up for my bridal party. She arrived early, was professional, and great to work with. The experience we all had was phenomenal from start to finish. We loved our makeup and thought she did a great job! Amber genuinely believes in helping you look your best without changing the way you actually look. The makeup is natural looking and feels light on your skin - the finished product has such a "WOW" factor and stayed on all night. Everyone looked great and received many compliments.

I absolutely loved my makeup and Amber was so easy to worth with. All of my girls looked beautiful and you could tell everyone felt like a polished version of themselves! Highly recommend.

Amber was the perfect on-location makeup artist! Until I found Amber, I had trouble finding a makeup artist that would come on-location for a reasonable fee. We were so glad to not have to leave the venue to get our makeup done - one less thing to worry about! Amber was responsive, flexible, and efficient. She was able to do makeup for five women within just a few hours. Everyone's airbrush makeup looked amazing and stayed the entire day!

Had an amazing experience with Amber and her assistant. Loved her enthusiasm for doing bridal hair and makeup, and she had no qualms with our location, schedule, and huge bridal party. She was honest with her thoughts on what looked best for me, but not at all pushy. I was totally pleased with both my hair and makeup. The day of turned out even better than the trial (which was already great). All seven of my bridesmaids looked absolutely beautiful as well. Amber clearly loves what she does, works super efficiently, and is professional yet friendly and approachable.

I saw Amber's photostream and knew that I wanted her to do my wedding day hair. She absolutely lived up to expectations! She was easy to work/communicate with, efficient, and the hair for all members of the wedding party looked fabulous! My very straight hair hardly felt like it had any product in it, yet it 100% stayed curled, up and in place all night (including through all the dancing). Highly recommend!

Amber was wonderful! She is very prompt and professional and did an absolutely amazing job. Both of my bridesmaids and I looked flawless even after hours in 90 degree heat without being caked in heavy makeup! I was not entirely sure what I wanted and she worked with me to come up with the perfect look. I highly suggest doing both a hair and makeup trail to figure out exactly what works best for you. I would work with Amber again anytime!

Amber did my wedding hair and makeup for my July 8th, 2017 wedding in Ann Arbor, MI. My biggest recommendation is to do the trial hair and makeup session. Amber did a fantastic job matching what I wanted for hair and makeup. I just did not like the hair style I thought I had wanted. Once my wedding day arrived, Amber did a BEAUTIFUL job by giving me a whole different type of updo that worked perfectly with my face and hair. I think my only regret is not getting a professional photo of the back of my head! She also did the hair for all my bridesmaids and my mom as well as most of my bridesmaid's makeup. (Only one girl did her own makeup). My mom had shorter shoulder length hair and Amber did a beautiful updo. All my bridesmaids were very happy with their hair and makeup. They were able to choose their own styles and Amber did an excellent job matching what they were looking for. I actually got quite a few compliments from ladies who were in other weddings that they were happier with their looks from Amber. Amber was great at sticking to a time schedule. I had a 1pm ceremony and she managed to have us all looking gorgeous without feeling rushed. I cannot recommend her enough.

I'm so happy that Amber was able to do my, my mom's, and my mother-in-law's hair and makeup for my wedding! She did such a wonderful job taking what I envisioned and turning it into a reality. I love that she is on-location and even last minute added my aunt to her services. She is a sweetheart and a pleasure to chat with while you're getting your hair/makeup done! She also gave me one of the best haircuts I've had in years!! I would highly recommend her for any hair and makeup services!

I can't say enough good things about Amber - she is absolutely amazing! I had a bad experience with my hair/makeup for my engagement shoot (with a DIFFERENT vendor), and so I was super nervous about finding the right person for the wedding. But Amber was kind, patient, professional, extremely attentive to detail, and very skilled during my trial - I hired her on the spot! She has an amazing gift with updos - my hair was soft, romantic, a little vintage-looking, and super elegant, just the way I wanted it. She also uses water-based airbrush makeup, which is *SO* much better than oil-based--having worn both, I barely felt like I was wearing makeup, but it looked natural and amazing, stayed put, and lasted all day (our wedding was at 10:30am, and I didn't take it off until about 2am - it still looked great!). She was also super flexible (traveling to Detroit and starting to work at 6am), very kind and relaxed, and generally really nice to be around. (I'm even switching to her to cut my hair regularly - she's that good!) Don't hesitate to hire her - you won't be disappointed!

Amber was very pleasant to work with, she was so flexible and was able to do hair for my additional bridesmaid. She is very easy to talk to, and she listens to what you want and make suggestions to make your planning easier. One thing she left out for my make up was my eyebrows which I was a little disappointed, so next time remind her for her to do your eyebrows. Overall she is amazing!! If you are looking for hair & makeup for your wedding, she would be the one to go to!

Amber just did my hair and makeup for our wedding, and she is AMAZING! She made me look just like me, but better. Amber was a dream to work with. My hair and makeup were exactly what I had been hoping for - she made me look like a more perfect version of myself. Amber was very flexible and easy to work with. My wedding was in July during the Ann Arbor Art Fair and Amber was willing to come downtown on site to do my makeup and help finish my hair (I did myself). I asked for natural looking makeup (I usually don't wear much) and she did a fantastic job! I looked as good as I felt on my wedding day. Thank you Amber!
