Nelson Dance Center

ring our first dance. We are NOT dancers, we had tried lessons before at another local studio and had never gotten the hang of it even with practice. At Nelsons we learned an entire dance worth of unique steps that were easy, flowing, and romantic. The dance we created completely reflected our song and our wedding theme and we felt totally comfortable on our wedding day. This center is a hidden jem, the building may look old and the equipment dated, but we had a wonderful time working with our instructor. He taught us easy steps that made us feel comfortable and then taught us unique steps that were easy for total beginners to incorporate and remember. We had fun and he was encouraging and very flexible with working with us and scheduling last minute classes. Also very affordable. This center is about half the cost of the other studios we looked into for a group of lessons and we believe we got our moneys worth because we felt we had a beautiful dance on our wedding day, even with only a week of practice!

ssons were great. Scheduling was also very flexible, which was important to us. The lessons were private and catered to our needs. We had the choice to choreograph the whole dance, but instead we just learned different steps and moves to incorporate during our dance. We received many compliments on our first dance.

e to have our first dance choreographed. We started with learning ballroom moves and at the last months put it all together for our dance. Mike was very patient and a great teacher, especially for two people who never did ballroom dancing before. He went above and beyond in teaching us up until our very last lesson. There came a time where he thought we had to order more lessons, we did thinking nothing of it. Mike double checked himself, seeing that he made a mistake, and let us know immediately. Mike not only apologized for his mistake but gave us our check back. You don't find honesty like that now a days and it was greatly appreciated. We both had a really great time and cannot wait to see how our dance turns out this weekend. We are definitely considering going back for more laid back and fun lessons. Would highly recommend!

to-date as some other dance studios, but Nelson knows what he's doing. He was very patient with us, taught us a bunch of different moves that would go well with the song we chose, and helped us choreograph it the last few sessions. On our wedding night, we completely surprised and awed all of our guests with our dance, because they weren't expecting it- and neither of us are trained professional dancers. They said we looked completely natural, comfortable, and didn't even look like we were concentrating or counting the steps! We have Nelson to thank for it, and can't wait to get the video of our dance. It was totally worth the time, money, and effort! Thank you, Nelson!
