New Bern Riverfront Convention Center

The convention center was beautifully decorated, they were able to set it up exactly how we wanted and the staff was fantastic the day of the wedding. The reason why we are rating them 3 stars is because of the time before the event. They were almost impossible to get a hold of at any time, it took us 3 months just to get them to let us book the place due to someone that "may" need it (yet they couldn't get a hold of them for 3 months) and they renovated the place (which is definitely a good thing) but didn't tell us. So when we went there two and a half weeks before the event just to check it out again and the doors were locked up and had a sign that said closed for renovations, we were really nervous. Then it took my mom trying to pay them for 2 weeks before the wedding for them to actually take the payment. One day their machines were down, and then the next week or so they weren't at work, and then finally we mailed a check and they didn't even acknowledge receipt of it or deposit it right away. We almost canceled the check because we thought it got lost in the mail! Overall, they ended up being great (beautiful decorated, classy, great staff) the day of, but they were really nerve wrecking to work with before the wedding.
