I had my wedding and reception aboard The Riverboat City of New Orleans and it was the perfect venue. My Wedding Coordinator (Lisa) and her staff executed the vision I had for my ...
wedding exactly as I planned. She also coordinated with the vendors to ensure everything ran smoothly for our special day. I wrote the script for our wedding ceremony, including our vows and the steamboat captain (Captain Troy) did an amazing job reciting the script exactly as planned. The professionalism and excellent customer service of Lisa and all her staff made my experience that much better. I’m glad I chose their venue to celebrate my big day!
We had our rehearsal dinner on the Natchez and it was awesome. The views were incredible and the only thing that could have been better was the weather, it was too hot, but of cour...
se they had no control of that! They were very accomadating, the service was incredible, the bartender was very quick, and it was just a great night. We definitely fit the max amount of people in allowed for our room. Unfortunately, my dress was too tight and I didn’t get to eat, but I was told the food was awesome. Bathrooms were clean! It was an overall incredible experience. My mother-in-law planned it found the steamboat and I’m very happy she did!
I literally can not say enough good things. Our day was PERFECT, we rented out the captains room for our small destination wedding (25 people) and it was a perfect night. Melissa i...
s AMAZING and handled EVERYTHING. And everyone was obsessed with the food! Best night ever!
Our wedding was March 3, 2018. My venue search began Feb 2017. We had a large engagement party in our hometown New York City. We wanted our wedding to be unique and memorable. We ...
also wanted a new experience. Upon discussing with both of our families, we realized everyone would love a trip to NOLA. I searched different venues. I considered several options. I then spoke to Melissa at the Natchez steamboat. I gave Melissa our history, needs, vision and desires. Melissa listened attentively and made suggestions. Which we accepted. Of course I was nervous making arrangements from NY, never visiting NOLA. Somehow Melissa reassured me that she would take care of everything. So we decided to get married aboard the Natchez steamboat. Melissa provided information about the marriage license bureau and their website. During the months, I constantly reached out to Melissa with questions pertaining to our wedding cake, cruise time, cruise tickets for guests, photographer, alcohol and beverage, food allergies, wedding license etc. Melissa was patient and informative. Because we were getting married on the Natchez, the captain was able to waive the 72 hr waiting period. On my special day, we arrived nervous and unsure of what to expect. Melissa and the crew on Natchez were amazing. Chris the photographer seem to be everywhere capturing our wedding. The Captain was also amazing and very personable. It was our 1st time on the Natchez and Melissa did an amazing job. Everything was beautiful. Everything was perfect from the flowers, red carpet and music. I was nervous but Melissa literally held my hand and gave me a shot of Tequila to relax me. Our wedding began at 10:15am and we selected the small private room. The weather was perfect and Chris escorted my husband and I around the steamboat for pictures (and later included our wedding party). Oh my gosh-the food!! Everyone particularly loved the fried chicken. My sister in law even loved the salad dressing, lol. The breadpudding and the jambalaya were great. The cake melted in our mouths!! We were so glad we chose the Natchez for our wedding. It was the best experience ever. Great time! Delish food! Good drinks!!! Thank you Melissa, Chris, Captain Troy and the Natchez crew for the most memorable experience ever!!!
I chose the Steamboat Natchez for my wedding reception. I did not rent out a room on the boat because I had a small wedding of 15 people. Instead, I did a jazz brunch cruise and th...
ey arranged a whole table for my guests. It was budget friendly as they had group rates. Customer service worked with me and was especially helpful when I had to adjust the size of my party. They refunded me money without any hassle, and even checked to make sure they had the right size the few days before they could not refund me anymore.
The food was decent for a buffet. There was plenty of food and my guests seemed satisified with the selection that was available. Beware the Cajun Bloody Mary drink. They are spicy and one guest bought it without knowing it.
The music was very good and they had a live band playing. I had my first dance in front of the band and they announced my wedding afterwards. It made me feel very special.
The view from the boat is beautiful and if they give a tour during the cruise if you care to listen. It is very informative. The music and the tour was not too loud, so you could carry on a conversation.
The photographer wanted to get with me and the groom to take a picture somewhere on the ship, but she never did, so we ended up purchasing the picture of us they take right before you board. I wish she got to us in time for that picture. The boat and scenery would have been beautiful.
Overall, I think it was a very memorable time and everyone seemed to have fun. They told me it was a very unique reception.
We hosted a steamboat tour for our wedding guests the day before our wedding. It was the perfect way for our guests to get to know each other prior to the wedding. Everyone raved a...
bout the tour and Leigh, the event manager, was absolutely lovely.
I did extensive research prior to choosing our wedding locations. My now husband and I live out of state but love New orleans. When we went to do site visits for wedding locations ...
I had us in 37 different places over 3 days. We had 160 guests and it is not easy to find space in New Orleans where that many people can be in the same room. The Natchez was one of them and we really liked the vibe as soon as we got into the dining room. We worked with Joni and she was fabulous. Absolutely so good to work with. I highly recommend you asking for her is you choose the Natchez. My husband and I are both serious foodies and we assumed that the food on the Steamboat was going to be just ok and we were fine with that because we had 4 days of events and a ton of top shelf food. To our thrill - the food was so good. So good! We wanted or wedding to be very New orleans/Southern authentic. We didn't bring 160 people there to give them a chicken or steak dinner. So we went for it. My family had some raised eyebrows when discussing the wedding night menu, but they all LOVED it. You just get into it when you're in New Orleans. We did listen to Joni and she pointed us in the right direction on the menu. We had shrimp and grits, collards (some of the best I've ever had in my life), beef carving station, they did a special banana's foster station for us for dessert. People are still talking about how great the food was and its been months later. We had plans to do an initial cocktail hour on the upper deck before entering the main dining room, however, on our wedding day it absolutely DOWN POURED. Haha. It was crazy. And we still did the 2nd line! All 160 of us. The whole staff of the Natchez was waiting out front for us, celebrating, handing every one wine and water as they approached. Because of the rain we didn't go to the upper deck, but that would have been a really fun option. They keep the engine room open and people get to go down there and learn about that which is fun. I mean you're on the Mississippi cruising around... Its so cool! Its different and people will remember. You'll never have - Where did Joe and Jane get married?? We had an incredible band on the boat and it turned into such a party. I just can't recommend the Natchez enough. We had the best wedding ever. If you want something cool, fun, a place for all your guests to be together, great food, excellent service, something authentic, so much better than a hotel ballroom, then this is a great option for you.
It was an easy and unique reception location and comparatively affordable. Frustrating in that they only would receive flower deliveries DURING my wedding ceremony (not the day be...
fore) and had to pay $5.50 a beignet for the worst beignets I have ever eaten. People loved the unique location and great picture ops off the boat.
We were married on the Steamboat Natchez on October 11, 2014. We decided on the evening wedding (5:00 pm) It was incredible! We are from Pennsylvania and decided to have a destinat...
ion wedding in New Orleans and to have our wedding on the Steamboat. We had 48 guests and could not have asked for a better venue or company to work with. The vows were amazing, the food was amazing, my bouquet was amazing and the venue itself was amazing. Melissa, the wedding coordinator, was fantastic. She helped us through the entire process and was very patient with us. Planning a wedding in Pennsylvania for New Orleans was actually very easy. All of our guests loved it and we have been told numerous times that it was the best wedding that they have ever been to. Plan in advance! We booked the steamboat about a year in advance. In addition, even though the food doesn't get great reviews the normal boat tour...the food for our wedding was fabulous. Everyone couldn't believe how good everything was. We also reserved the Captain's Salon on the lower deck...I highly recommend it as it's as if you have your own private room and deck. AMAZING! I really cannot say enough wonderful things about the Steamboat. I highly recommend it to anyone looking for a unique location to get married.

t and nicely presented! They provided the wedding cake, which was AMAZING!! It was nice to not have to stress about anything since Melissa made sure everything was in order at all times!
The photographer, Diane, was AMAZING too!! She was always ready to snap any and every photo that my husband and i could have ever imagined! She was there for pre-wedding, wedding and reception. We booked her through the steamboat for only $450 more; which was well worth it!!!
If you're looking for a fun and relaxed atmosphere with no-stress planning, the Steamboat Natchez is for you! We were married here last week and I could not have imagined how easy ...
it turned out to be. It was a destination wedding and all guests were from out of town/state. It was a great way to show off NOLA and everybody enjoyed the food, drinks, and cruise.
I had an awesome time. Melissa was very easy to work with. She made sure that we had everything we needed. She even took the kids for a your of the Steamboat multiple times. We did...
n't have to worry about the details. Melissa made sure everything I asked for was there. Melissa is the best!!!!
I had my reception here October 2011 in the Magnolia Room. The coordinator was easy to reach and I was glad she was there through the event. The service and food was great!

recommend if interested in booking go look at the room you will be in and make yourself a floor plan. There wasn't to much extra space left for a dance floor so we just ended up moving out all the tables and chairs. Also the room details are a little run down. Good part is no one will notice (but you looking at the undecorated room) because the ride is great and the guest can go anywhere on the boat.
We got married aboard the Natchez by the Captain and it was a beautiful ceremony. The wedding coordinator, Melissa, was very helpful every step of the way! Thanks for making our da...
y so special!
Dane Bono really worked with us to figure out what was best for our post ceremony Steamboat Cruise. All of our guests had such an amazing experience!!!
We were so happy with the quality and service of the Natchez. Our guests raved about it. Having everything in one place made planning the wedding much easier.
I booked the Natchez before ever seeing it. I had to switch venues at last moment. Melissa was great helping me plan it all and dealt well with my many emails weekly. Cake looked a...
mazing and they saved my day with a back-up bouquet since the one i bought from someone else broke before the ceremony. Loved them serving the food all the way till we docked and the few invaders were ok because they were escorted back upstairs away from the reception. Dont over plan for the venue tho because of the limited space.
This was a great venue and made everything run very smoothly since they supplied, food, officiant, band, bar, servers, wedding coordinator. I would recommend to anyone looking to h...
