Fast forward to today, and I’m here again – this time with my daughter – to find her wedding dress. It’s a moment full of emotion, a full circle of love and memories that I’ll carry in my heart forever.
The experience was nothing short of magical. Even though the boutique didn’t typically work with the designer of the dress my daughter had fallen in love with, sweet Dolores the owner went above and beyond to make sure my daughter had the dress of her dreams. Her dedication, kindness, and personalized service made all the difference, and it truly felt like we were part of the New York Lace family. She made us feel heard, valued, and cared for every step of the way. The entire staff was warm, attentive, (specially our own stylist Lana )and so professional – they made us feel like we were the only ones in the world, which is something so rare and special.
I also had the privilege of finding my dress for the mother of the bride. From the moment I slipped it on, I felt beautiful, confident, and ready to share in the joy of my daughter’s big day. The boutique’s attention to detail, their understanding of how to highlight a woman’s natural beauty, and their unwavering commitment to making every bride feel extraordinary is truly unmatched.

d. What I was thinking. She then went back to pull some dresses. While the girls enjoyed champagne, Lana and I went back to the fitting room. I was so nervous, but excited because this was the very first store that I went to. I picked it because I had looked for a salon with a ton of dresses available to choose from.
She pointed to the first 3 dresses and asked which I liked the best. I pointed and said, “That one, but we better try that last.” She smiled and said, “Why? Let’s see if we can beat it!” And the moment I put it on, I cried. I never thought that a dress could make me cry. That I would be one of those brides, but I was! We tried the others, and a few more! Though nice they were not it. I ended up buying the very first dress that I tried on! By the end we were all in tears, even Lana. She was amazing and made me feel so comfortable.

Lana was amazing to work with and was the reason this process was so great. I came in a little discouraged from my other bridal appointments and from the minute I started working with her, I knew she was going to find me my dress. I felt like she actually listened to what I was looking for and asked questions about me to get to know my style better. The thing about Lana is she will find a way - whether it's finding the perfect dress that you feel 100% about or problem solving something that comes up in the alterations/fit - she will make it happen. I had 100% trust in her - I even ended up getting the bridesmaid dresses from here as well!

lene had called me a couple days before to speak with me about what I was looking for and my wedding vision. I told her that I wanted to look like a “walking garden”. Darlene delivered on all fronts. She pulled just the right dresses including the dress of my dreams. She answered my endless questions and she really cared about my wedding vision becoming a reality. She went over all possibilities and she went above and beyond even to find a matching veil. We had some extra time and she helped us look into the bridesmaid vision now that I had the dress. She made shopping a fun and a joyous occasion. I felt her genuine joy at my happiness and my bride glow as she helped me find the dress that made me a “walking garden” full of flowers. count, the biggest one was that I couldn’t cancel my dress order because it had already been ordered from the designer two days after I bought it. A full 13 months later I received my dress, after having to call multiple times to figure out why I hadn’t received it yet. They clearly forgot to order it with the customizations I had requested in my contract and then tried to blame the designer. I read the tag left on it today and it appears they hadn’t even ordered my dress until 2022, almost a year after I ordered it. It also appears that they placed it as a rush order (because I had called to complain.) The attitude of the owner and 90% of the staff was so outrageous. Showed up just five minutes early to an appt to pick up my dress and they gave me an attitude about that because I was “so early” and then they didn’t even see us until 10-15 mins after our appt was supposed to start. I wouldn’t recommend this place to my worst enemy. Just a few months until my wedding and I’m STILL trying to fix their mistakes. So incredibly upset that I spent 2,200 on a dress that has such negative energy attached to it now.

In hindsight, the other dresses the consultant brought to me weren't even similar so I wish I had taken more time in thinking it through, and feel like she assumed I had picked the first dress off the bat. A month later I went back to get my measurements taken as this gown was to be custom made to me and she charged me $250- I assumed to go toward basic alterations later on. Forward to January 2022, the dress has come in and it's too tight and the length is much too long. I also realized then I fell out of love with the dress and found a different dress at a salon much closer to home (NYL is about an hour away). Regardless, the owner is very professional and always works to make things right if they go wrong, and ended up refunding me the $250 I was initially charged since I'm not getting alterations done. I really appreciated her efforts!

For anyone looking for a fun, relaxing, dress shopping experience I cannot recommend my stylist, Mercedes, enough! She’s fun, picked beautiful gowns to try, excellent customer service. Mercedes took her time and really tuned into dresses that fit my style after showing her some inspiration pictures! She found beautiful accessories for my dress as well!
For my bridal party, i dictated the color and material and let all of them pick which style they would go with and Mercedes worked well with all of them and they’re all satisfied with what they chose. They all had a fun time trying on dresses with no pressure.
Mercedes couldn’t be there with my mom when she was shopping, so Andrea was my moms stylist. Andrea was excellent to work with and opened my moms eyes to a dress that she wouldn’t have tried otherwise. The decisions are tough since they have a beautiful selection of mother of the bride/groom gowns!
Today, I went with my mother in law and a friend of hers to find her dress. She tried on about 10 dresses but fell in love with a wild card that I picked out for her. Mercedes was also her consultant.
I just really love how whenever I go there, I am on a first name basis with everyone and I don’t feel like a number.

ace a deposit on a dress at their first visit. I was not told this detail until the end of my first visit.
I placed a deposit to secure this promotion. I was told they could order any dress I picked from another salon and transfer my deposit if I found a dress I actually loved elsewhere. I was then told the dress I found wasn’t expensive enough for the free alterations package. I was also told that all my bridesmaids and both mothers needed to buy their dresses at NYL for the promotion to apply. This was an enormous hassle as my girls are from near and far. I did NOT have the mothers purchase their dresses at NYL. Imagine telling your MIL to be where to buy her dress for her sons wedding day. A bridesmaid was up charged for needing a larger size and another was charged for their alterations twice because the dress had two layers. The salon would not refund/cancel my unaltered, not yet delivered dress when I moved my date to the fall due to Covid. I paid for alterations elsewhere because the owner was so rude to me. I wanted to love this place because I bought my prom dress here years ago. Only negative experience of my entire wedding planning process.

es to see if it was in stock. This place was the only place in New England that carried the Pronovias dress. Dolores, the owner, was miraculously able to get me in for an apt the next day.
Joined by my mom, I went to my apt and my consultant was Mercedes. She was amazing; so personable, authentic and lovely. I felt like we were friends more so than just meeting. She listened to all of my thoughts and ideas and was the perfect amount of support a bride would want when trying on dresses.
We had such a nice time at my appointment, we even stayed like 30 min longer chatting with Dolores about life and such. She felt like family to us. We scheduled an apt to return to shop for my mom’s dress.
This was the first place I went to try on dresses, so I don’t have an experience to compare to. However, I would say if you are looking for a family vibe, something genuine, I would definitely recommend this place!!
