We were looking for a combination of expertise, kindness, and professionalism, and we were so lucky to find this trifecta in the amazing wife-husband team of Nicole and Carl from Newbury Photographs. We were immediately drawn to their mastery of lighting (neither washed-out nor artificially saturated with color), natural-looking formal compositions, creative snapshots of wedding day details, and extraordinary black-and-white photos. For our engagement shoot, Nicole and Carl immediately put us both at complete ease, giving very simple instructions to help us look relaxed and natural. On our wedding day, they were masters of subtlety, yet they somehow managed to always be in the ideal position to capture every important moment. They were wonderfully organized and efficient at working through wedding party pictures and family shots without making them feel rushed, and they were happy to take guest-requested group photos as well.  After our big day, the online gallery was available in just a few short weeks (both high and low resolution versions ready for download or customizable into products through the website).  Our photos are, in a word, stunning. They captured every moment with beauty, sincerity, and artistry. Nicole and Carl were fantastic to work with, and their work was top quality! We decided not to do a first look, and we were worried that we weren’t going to get all our photos done, so before the wedding, Nicole and Carl did a venue walk through with us to plan our photos and make sure we could make the most of our time. Nicole and Carl are amazing! Our wedding day was the first sunny day with clear blue skies after about 60 days of rain, we planned to take our photos in another location at our venue but it was going to be too sunny so Nicole changed it at the last minute and I am so thankful she did. They are professional, quick and calm when a change needs to be made and very timely on getting the photos back. We have had the hardest time choosing our favorite photos to get printed because we love them all. Some of our favorites are the candid ones Carl takes, he almost hides himself in the background so you don't know you are being photographed. From the first phone call I had with her I knew Nicole had to be my photographer: her experience and knowledge was so apparent, I was less stressed about wedding planning just from talking to her. The day of was so smooth and amazing, her and Carl are so creative and talented, but so laid back it made the entire day more pleasant. I honestly had no idea what I wanted for photos and she was so good at identifying places and shots and not to mention the perfect lighting. We were amazed at the lengths they would go to just to get the perfect shot! We just received our wedding photos (about 5 weeks!!) and we are in absolute awe - at both the absolute beauty og the photos AND at the quantity! I have NO idea how I will choose which ones to print. My husband and I are so glad we booked Newbury Photographs for our wedding day!! Nicole and Carl are so so talented, and they made us feel super comfortable in front of the camera. We could not believe how incredible our photos turned out! I'm not exaggerating when I say every single photo they took is perfect. We have received so many compliments on the photos, and I can't stop looking through them in my free time. It started to thunderstorm during my portraits, and Carl actually ran outside in the pouring rain to get the most gorgeous photo of me inside the mansion through a raindrop-covered window! I would have never thought to take that shot, but it's one of my favorite photos from the day, and I can't believe their dedication to getting the best pictures! I could not recommend them more highly!!

Nicole and Carl are great! I highly recommend them!! My husband and I are very camera shy and I definitely can be an awkward person. Nicole was so sweet on the phone during our first consultation. She carefully explained the process and how she and her husband work. We decided to do an engagement shoot so that we could get used to being in front of a camera and see what poses we liked, something Nicole recommended. I’m so glad we did that and I’d highly recommend doing the same if you’re camera shy, like us. It was a great way to get familiar with the process and, on the day of the wedding, we were glad and appreciative that we already knew and were comfortable with Nicole and Carl. On the day of the wedding, Nicole and Carl were so respectful of us and our family, such that at times, we forgot that they were there taking pictures. They were right on time, familiar with the venue, and super organized and professional. And they truly captured every moment from the wedding day, and from different angles too. It is so nice to have pictures from every moment of the day to look back at to remember, especially because we did not have a videographer. We were so pleasantly surprised at how many pictures we got back (around 900) and how quickly we got them back (in 3 weeks). And the pictures turned out so well! Truly, every picture looks exactly like the pictures advertised in their portfolio online— in short, absolutely stunning.

Just got our photos back from our Sept 22 wedding and WE COULD NOT BE HAPPIER!! Absolutely beaming at all the photos and truly able to live the day over with how much they captured. Nicole and Carl did a great job making us feel comfortable and I would highly recommend. Will be so hard to pick favorites!!

Nicole and Carl shot our engagement photos and our wedding and we could not be happier!! They were so patient even when our frenchie tried stealing the show, and they did an amazing job capturing every single important moment. Nicole & Carl were an absolute pleasure to work with. Not only were the photographs absolutely stunning- airy and romantic- the experience was wonderful. UPDATE: We just got our wedding photos back and are so happy with the result! It took about 6 weeks to get the collection, but that was to be expected since they had 9 hours of coverage to sift through and edit. The result is hundreds of beautiful photos we will treasure forever. Nicole and Carl had great attitudes on our wedding day and helped keep everyone calm despite typically jitters and weather stresses! We can't thank them enough for capturing our day perfectly. Nicole and Carl recently took our engagement photos in Boston on a beautiful spring-like January day. The pictures came out gorgeous! Nicole and Carl were great to work with - they made us feel really comfortable and laid back in what can sometimes be an awkward setting. My fiancé and I are very happy with the result and can't wait to see the photos from our wedding day in September!

I don't even know where to begin! Nicole (and her husband, Carl!) were an absolute dream to work with. Communication was fantastic all the way from planning our engagement photos right up to the wedding day. They are the most down to earth people you will meet and made sure we were completely comfortable taking photos. When we were choosing our wedding photographer we felt very overwhelmed... there are literally thousands of choices in Boston! We decided to meet a few of our top contenders in person and when we met Nicole we knew she was "the one!" She was very calm and thoughtful, which is exactly the vibe we wanted on our wedding day. Our wedding was this past May and although we were hoping for a sunny day it ended up raining. We were set on outdoor photos and Nicole & her husband were game for all of it! They were so great to work with and we are THRILLED with our photos.

Nicole and her husband, Carl, took such wonderful photos for us on our wedding day in August. I could not have asked for a better person to shoot us. Both are very friendly, make you feel very comfortable with them, and help provide guidance (especially if you're not used to getting photos taken of you!). One request we did have during our wedding was not focus on our wedding guests and take photos of them. Nicole did such a great job of honoring this. Nicole recently took our engagement pictures and they are amazing! She worked with us to schedule a date that would have optimal weather and lighting for our pictures. She sent us tips before the photo shoot to help with outfit selection and posing. She also provided the digital copies within a week from the photo shoot. We are blown away with the results and could not be happier. There are so many great shots, it is impossible to pick a favorite.

Where to start. From the moment my husband and I booked with Nicole she was nothing less than helpful. The communication leading up to the wedding was impeccable. The day of, she was punctual and so down to earth! My husband and I are both camera shy and were apprehensive about being in front of the lens all day, but Nicole and her husband (second shooter), Carl, made us feel so comfortable and we laughed a lot! Nicole did an amazing job with our wedding photos - we couldn't be happier with how they turned out. Her pictures are full of natural light, and she really has an eye for getting a perfect shot! We did the engagement session primarily so that we could meet Nicole and get comfortable with her and her style, which I highly recommend. I am so happy that Nicole was recommended to me because my husband and I absolutely loved her. From our first meeting to our last email she was kind and responsive to all of our questions. Having a great photographer was very important to me and after looking at her portfolio and social media pages I was convinced she was the right fit for us. We already had our engagement photos done so we were able to create a custom package, though I would have loved to have shot with her as well. The day of our wedding, Nicole and her team promptly arrived at our hotel and started shooting almost right away and didn't stop until well into the reception. During it all Nicole was great at directing our rather large wedding party (14, including us) for group photos but also with just my husband and I, on the finer details, to get the right shot. When we got our pictures, I was absolutely floored. So many small moments captured and so many angles for the big ones. Viewing the pictures is so easy and convenient to not only download but also share with family and friends who don't have facebook and want to see ALL the pictures. I can't say enough good things and I highly recommend her to all of my friends who are getting married.

Nicole and her team are the best! She shot our wedding this past summer and our engagement photos in the fall, and both experiences were absolutely amazing. We live in NY so did not get to meet Nicole in person before booking her, but her portfolio was so beautiful and we felt very comfortable with her when speaking to her on the phone. So it was an easy decision! She is a true artist - she makes such good use of natural light and somehow magically brings out the romance and beauty in every moment and person that she photographs. Nicole did our engagement session a year prior to our wedding, and we fell in love with her style. The perfect lighting choices and helpful posing hints on the wedding day made things flow nicely! She brought along a second shooter, Wayne, who was wonderful, as well. Nicole's work is stunning. I'm going to be honest: my husband and I have perfected the "school picture smile." We fully expected our photos to be equally awkward, but Nicole and her team managed to capture beautiful, authentic moments. They were professional, on time, unobtrusive, and even-nerved. Nicole was recommended through a mutual friend which you know could always be hit or miss. We met with Nicole and looked through her photographs and were entirely impressed. We love the natural look and the rich colors! We are ecstatic with not only the way each photograph came out, capturing quick special moments that I didn't even know she was around for, but the abundance of photographs as well! Nicole photographed our July wedding in York, Maine. She was very professional and extremely creative. Nicole took the time to capture every detail of the day. The images were sent to us in a timely manner and could not have been more beautiful. The photographs were so clear and the lighting was perfect. Nicole sent all of the edited images in a program that was easy to use and offered great printing options.
