This venue was a total gem! Absolutely stunning for an outdoor wedding, they worked with all of our vendors and provided us with a seamless wedding day. Ellen responded promptly ...
to all of our emails, we were able to drop in at the venue during museum hours to plan, and we hired her as our DOC. Note: there is no indoor option at this site for more than 40ish people, so factor in the tent rental fee when making your final decision. We ended up not needing a tent, but had rented it anyways and paid the 25% deposit fee. This added to the total cost of the venue, however it was still half of what most other venues were charging. The only vendor we were required to use was one of their OLCC certified bartenders, and she did ask everyone for ID-so be sure and prep your guests (a nice note on your website, or a chalkboard sign at the entrance would do the trick!) We will continue to visit this site for years to come, it is a very special place.
We had our wedding indoors in the Log Cabin on Oct. 6. It was a beautiful spot- just right for a small wedding. Very cozy and charming - With just a few flowers for decorations.

My husband and I loved the Newell House for our wedding! It was very affordable for a 200 person wedding outside of Portland. Judy works at the Newell House and does a wonderful jo...
b working with brides. She was so quick to respond to my many emails, and was there to ease my mind when I was fearful of rain for the wedding. She will do as much or as little as you would like, but I would definitely recommend using her as a resource. She sat with us girls in the house before we walked down the aisle. She got us water and made sure we were all doing OK. She and he husband also brought in a Model-T for us to take pictures with, which turned out great! The Newell House venue was nice and shaded with the landscaping which helped a lot on our 100 degree wedding day. There venue also showcases the beautiful Oregon views and landscape. You're also able to bring in your own caterer, which was very nice. Judy lines the place with lights to make the venue shine at night, and there is even a dance floor! Our guests had a lot of fun dancing the night away under the trees and lights. I have nothing but good things to say about Judy and the Newell House.
I loved working with Judy at the Newell House. She responded to emails quickly, and knew how to answer questions. She was available in emergencies. The price was right for us. Our ...
ceremony was outside, as was our reception. I will say is that it was incredibly hot, but there was enough shade that guests could find some comfort. The bathrooms are small and a little dingy, but that's what you get with an outside venue at a house that was built in the 1850s in Oregon. We were allowed to bring in our own caterer. There were round tables available for us to use (though we decided to go a different direction). This is a great place for an outside, informal, picnic type wedding! We loved it!
