Next Wave Photography is a wedding and lifestyle photography company based in San Diego, CA. Owner and operator Paul Scherer takes joy in serving soon-to-be newlyweds as they celebrate life’s precious milestones. His goal is to form a connection with his clients in order to share their vision for their long-awaited wedding day. Since 2019, Paul has been photographing clients professionally, producing vibrant and captivating images. His work has been featured in publications such as The Times of San Diego and Discovery Magazines. He works diligently to skilfully document the candid moments of laughter and love that occur as his clients’ celebrations naturally unfold. Next Wave Photography offers a number of packages for clients to choose from to make their photographs special. Engagement and portrait sessions are available, as well as coverage of your ceremony and reception. Before your big day, Paul will meet with you to discuss your preferences and ideas for your wedding day collection.

Paul is a lot of fun and really added an air of normalcy to the day. He made sure to keep us on task and he also listened to things we valued and thing we didn’t. When we were burnt out on pictures he totally supported us. Everyone at the wedding commented how nice he was Would hire again 100%

Paul was very easy to work with and did a great job on our engagement photos and wedding photos. The wedding photos were especially incredible! He captured all the sweet moments, and all the fun party ones at the reception! I would highly recommend Paul.

It was an absolute pleasure working with Paul and his team for our wedding day, they were truly exceptional in every way. Paul did our wedding on 4/22/23 in Descanso. Paul had great ideas for the photos and was very timely. He did his best to keep the photos moving along since our family's insisted on taking a ton of photos. He's super nice and was great to work with!

Loved working with Paul! He was flexible with time for our wedding, provided a very reasonable and fair price, and provided a lot of creative ideas. He’s easy to work with throughout the entire process and has great energy, we felt very comfortable with him. He is quick to think of new ideas when plans unexpectedly change. We felt he brought a lot of ideas for different poses and we had a lot of fun working with him! Paul captured our special day so beautifully. I strongly recommend working with him!
