Nick Mehn Photography

I looked through a ton of photographers for my wedding and I fell in love with Nick's photos when I saw them. Not only are his photos amazing, but he is professional, down to earth, and fun to work with. He made us feel comfortable and relaxed during the engagement session as well as on our wedding day. Highly recommend Nick!

Nick's pictures are great and he has such an easy going personality (which is nice to have around on the wedding day). We did have to wait awhile for our sneak peaks and for all of our pictures.

I cannot recommend this person. This photographer turned out to be my worst nightmare that no bride should have to deal with. Two days before our big day my husband and I were informed that there wouldn't be a second photographer at our wedding. They said they were going to try every resource they had to find someone and that I shouldn't worry. Our day of rolled around, the photographer showed up late and without a 2nd shooter. -Please note, when hiring this person, they told us they have an entire group of other photographers in the same area that they work with and can always find backup. The entire day I felt like I had to direct them around, ask them to shoot this or that. I should not have been put on the spot with all of the decisions to make on the actually day of my wedding. That's what we hired this "professional" to do. I prepared a day of schedule with a shot list of certain things I wanted, but they didn't follow it. I gave them a copy of this well before our big day, too. It was the least bit relaxing and unfortunately, at that moment I knew I made a mistake hiring them. From my bridesmaids perspective, they found him very unprepared and sitting around doing nothing more than he was actually taking photos. The feeling proved to be even more real once the photos were returned to us. SEVERAL important moments and details were missed. There isn't a single image of my husband looking at me while walking down the aisle. The images returned to us look nothing like the example albums we were shown when we hired this photographer. Several of our photos are blown out with terrible lighting. We hired and trusted this person as a professional to find the best lighting and have the best interest in us as the clients. What we got was absolutely the opposite. They claimed they didn't want to take away certain moments from us to get better lighting. I'm sorry, but don't you think better quality photos are more important? It took entirely too long to get our photos back as well. This photographer sold on a 3 week turn around and we got ours over 7 weeks later. I respectfully addressed the problems and my concerns with the photographer privately after getting out photos back. I didn't come off as combative, I didn't blame them. I simply expressed my concerns and asked questions. They put the blame on my husband and I and couldn't give us direct answers. I have never felt so unappreciated as a customer, especially for such an important event in my husband and I's life that we now cannot get back.

I was so grateful that Nick was able to take our pictures. When I got engaged, my brother told me that Nick was the absolute best option for our wedding photography. In looking at Nick's galleries, I knew that he would emphasize capturing the emotion and moments of our day, which is really what I cared about. I wasn't disappointed. Nick and his second shooter made everyone feel comfortable and confident, resulting in pictures that are both treasured and timeless. I've always preferred a more candid approach to photography, and after seeing the very first preview, I felt like Nick really captured my perspective of us as a couple without having to pose once. I felt like the pictures captured were real, raw, and genuine - which is exactly what I wanted. I can't wait for my next big life event, so Nick can capture that moment for us as well!
