Hey there! I'm Nick Rasmussen - a destination wedding + landscape photographer based in Oregon and Indiana who loves to travel. My style focuses on the intimate and raw moments of your wedding day through candid storytelling, with a cinematic, timeless feel and true to color images with slight warmth. Recently, I shot a wedding where the bride made her dress almost entirely from found things in the woods, and another where the couple rented out an entire campground, spending the weekend with their all of their guests. These unique weddings and ideas are what I'm most drawn to as a photographer, though I've shot weddings of all sizes, atop mountains and in mansions, on cruise boats and in national parks, and focus primarily on capturing your style and story in a unique way. I'm not one for the perfect, super posed images, though I am proficient with flash if I feel the need to use it, and usually throw it on my camera in low light situations. I shoot on both digital + film, and I'm always up for breaking out my film camera at your wedding, which can be added-on for a small price. I recently started offering highlight videos shot on Super 8mm film, which can also be added-on to any photo package or booked on its own. I am heavily inspired by breathtaking landscapes and the seemingly mundane moments of life, and these inspirations are what caused me to pick up a camera over 8 years ago and why I still have one with me 24/7. Out of all the things I shoot, weddings & landscapes are my favorite to capture. I am drawn to every aspect of a wedding day and it is my goal to capture everything from the small details to unnoticed laughs and tears and golden facial expressions. I believe every part of a wedding is important, so I make it my goal to catch not just the big moments, but EVERY moment that I can. I love using natural light to my advantage, and give prompts more often than specific poses to make my couples feel as natural and genuinely them as possible.
