Disappointed. My husband and I were so looking forward to working with Nicole because of her high reviews, but we did not feel that we received the near-5-star service that her profile reports. In fact it makes me sad to see all of the 5-star r...eviews of how great she was on their big days because we did not have the same experience. Here are our list of grievances:
Communication was very sub-par. 1.) She did not communicate clearly before the wedding that we would have to designate someone to coordinate all of the group photos, therefore we did not have time to take all of the photos that we wanted. Not a single photo of my husband's immediate family, or our two families together. 2.) She was quiet as a mouse the whole time - gave no direction on how to pose, even though I specifically asked for that b/c I feel uncomfortable in photos. 3.) She did not communicate when I would be able to see previews, then got an attitude with me when I followed up several times with no answers. I finally received 8 photos after 3 weeks. She then told me that I could expect the final product in 10 weeks post-wedding. When I reached out after 10 weeks, she did not respond to me and did not send final photos until I followed up again after 12 weeks. 4.) Our videographers, who Nicole recommended to us, reached out to her for some photos that they wanted to incorporate into the highlight film they were making us. They reached out to Nicole via email and phone, and she never responded to them.
She waited to take our portraits until the last minute. She placed the responsibility of the order of the group photos on the BRIDE, even though we had created a timeline prior to the event. 20 seconds after walking out of the chapel she asked me who to shoot first. Frazzled from literally just getting married... I said the groomsmen, "because they would want to start drinking". We then waited 20 minutes for the groomsmen to gather. To this day, I don't understand why she had me make that decision, rather than pulling the 2 of us away as everyone shuffled out of the chapel. Instead, we took 500 group photos first, and still had to cut out some group shots because "we were losing light" and still needed to do our portraits. My husband and I were exhausted after taking so many pictures, hair and makeup were no longer fresh, and the light was not as good. The couple portraits are the most important part of the wedding shoot and it felt like it was not a priority to her. I just know in my heart that they would have been 1000x better if they were taken straight out of the chapel.
Every single group photo is the same. Nicole gave basically no direction on how pose. Every single group photo was a straight line in front of the same exact background. She did not take advantage of the beautiful venue space and grounds what-so-ever, which really disappointed us.
Not a single photo of the outdoor area of the venue. I understand that we were taking all of our photos during the cocktail hour, so she could not take photos of the area at that point. But people were hanging outside all night, the vibes were so cute and cozy with string lights, patio, outdoor bar, and firepit -- yet Nicole claimed that nobody was out there during the reception, therefore she didn't take any photos, even though she is incorrect.
All in all, it felt like Nicole just didn't care that much about our wedding. I'm glad we got some good photos out of it, but I would not hire Nicole again.
