We've been eating at the restaurant for years and always loved how elegant, romantic and warm it felt, for such a historic building. We were delighted to discover there were event spaces downstairs. If you are looking for a venue to share a smaller, intimate event, look no further. We had a guest count of 65 and this was the best location.
We had an entire wedding weekend here and it was absolutely perfect. Every interaction with the event coordinator, Jennifer, was just so pleasant and helpful. She will help facilitate whatever your vision is and offer suggestions/ideas/vendors to make sure it happens.
Everyone at the Inn cares about your happiness and having a successful event. You will be greeted by name, smiles galore and great service - it's old school service, which is a lost art these days. I would advise to book as early as possible, we booked over a year in advance. It is especially important if you need a hotel room block for your guests.
Since we loved eating at the restaurant, we already knew the food was delicious. Everything was fantastic for rehearsal appetizers, reception buffet dinner and breakfast brunch, the following morning.
I cannot sing their praises enough! If you are looking for a venue, try this place for parties, showers, birthdays and making your wedding dreams come true.
Even though Nicollet Island Inn wasn't our first choice for a wedding venue, we couldn't have imagined a more perfect day. Due to MN Covid-19 restrictions, we had to cancel our original plan and re-plan our entire wedding at a new venue in about a month. Lily was so welcoming and accommodating, we were thrilled when Nicollet Island Inn had our date open at the last minute! The venue is historic, classy and well maintained. The bridal suite to get ready with the ladies is a must. The Inn is also a great place to stay. We spent our wedding night in a beautiful room overlooking the river. I think we may make it an anniversary getaway tradition!
We booked the Island Room in the Nicollet Island Inn for our small wedding ceremony after we had to postpone our large celebration. The event coordinator, Lily was absolutely amazing to work with. She was flexible and responded to my emails so quickly. The venue is absolutely beautiful, we didn't even need to decorate for our ceremony. I would 100% recommend this venue to any couple looking for a beautiful historic place to get married.
We rented the Island Room and outdoor patio for our wedding dinner/reception and ceremony. In preparation for our big day, we worked with Lily and she was exceptional. She is very responsive to our all requests and very accommodating. Additionally, the food was great and our guests cleared their plates. The only thing we didn't like was the desserts offered so we brought ours in.
Overall, this is a very charming and historic place located in our favorite part of Minneapolis :)
Lily and Corey helped make the weekend of our daughter's wedding a huge success. All the staff at the Inn were pleasant and accommodating to our sometimes crazy requests. We felt the location, next to the pavilion, was ideal; the food was great, and having the bride get ready in the bridal ready room so convenient and fun. All in all, this team is terrific and we would do it all over again if we had another daughter getting married! T
The most beautiful bridal suite ever!! Due to COVID we had to last minute change our wedding venue. Our new venue did not have a bridal get ready suite, but I found out about Nicollet Island Inn's bridal suite and booked it right away! It was stunning, had great lighting, yummy food, and of course champagne <3 Also, the staff was incredible to work with. I wish I could use the bridal suite every day, it was so beautiful!! My hair and make up artist said it was one of the most beautiful places she has worked in.
We were so happy to have our small wedding at the Nicollet Island Inn. The staff were amazing and the site was beautiful.
If you're looking for a romantic, historical venue that is guaranteed gorgeous and comes with phenomenal service.. The Nicollet Island Inn is your place. The Inn is a family run venue, and it shows. There is nothing corporate or cookie cutter about it. The venue is absolutely breathtaking from the intricate chandeliers to the boutique hotel rooms, each of which are adorn with unique, antique furniture . On top of the Inn's beauty, it has a wonderful staff to top it all off. Here are some examples of how the staff made our day perfect:
Lindsay & Ryan (Event Managers): We had multiple meetings with Lindsay and Ryan to discuss all of the details of our day. They are clearly professionals and knew all the right things to ask while also being extremely accommodating in every way possible. What you see is what you get with them. They don't try to sell you on hidden costs; they just make sure you have all the Inn has to offer at your fingertips.
Bill (Restaurant Manager): Have you seen Downtown Abbey? Think Carson..but better! So kind and sincere throughout our entire stay. He was always checking in and making sure we were happy and had everything we needed. And today when I went to pick up our wedding cake (4 days after the wedding) he was there an greeted me with a big smile. You're not just "another bride" at the Nicollet Island Inn.
Waitstaff- The server assigned to my husband and I during the reception was named Carrie. During the cocktail hour I was busy talking to guests, and when I finally sat down at my table there was a plate of appetizers waiting for me because she wanted to make sure I got enough to eat. Throughout the night she checked in with us regularly, asked if we needed anything, got us snacks and cocktails. Top notch service! Jack was one of the bartenders and I can't tell you the amount of guests who commented on Jack's service.. and everyone knew him! He was "Jack" not "the bartended".. Clearly very friendly service!
In closing, my favorite thing about the Inn is that it's a historic monument and will be a place my husband and I can visit for many anniversaries to come.
We had our family and bridal party stay at the Inn, and it was perfect. They were so helpful and went out of their way to make sure that we had a great weekend. Highly recommended.
I booked the bridal ready room at the Nicollet Island Inn the moment we got engaged. The room is not even a year old yet and is gorgeous. From the lighting to the mirrors, the room makes you feel like a bride and the most special person. The service was great, we had food brought up to our room which was very tasty. It made the start of my wedding day that much more exciting.
We stayed at Nicollet Island Inn for our wedding night and had a fabulous time. Very nice room, and the Sunday brunch tasting menu was wonderful! This was a very relaxing way to start our marriage. Loved the choice!!!
The staff were great. They set everything up and checked with us before each course. The room was set up beautifully. All information was handled via email without a problem. Two of our guests were not able to attend and the staff fixed the tables quickly so no one knew it wasn't already planned that way.
