Night Kitchen Bakery and Cafe

Night Kitchen made the cake for our wedding and it was delicious! We got three different flavor combinations in our four tier cake and they were all amazing. The mocha cake is moist and tasty and we highly recommend it. We can't wait to come back for our one year anniversary cake!

Night Kitchen was the way to go! Our wedding venue package included a cake from them, and they made it so fun from start to finish. First off, you get a full cake tasting which includes 4 cake flavors and 6 fillings/frostings (all of which are so good). Next, they didn't bat an eye when we asked for a Back to the Future Wedding cake. They were able to take a picture and create us as fondant figures on top, and have a Delorean crashing into the side. SO many guests commented on how fun it was. The taste didn't suffer at all for how good it looked. It was moist and flavorful. I can't wait for our one year anniversary when we get to get a *free* mini version, rather than have to eat year old cake from our freezer! They are so accommodating.

The Night Kitchen Bakery provided our wedding cake. We went with red velvet cake, raspberry filling, and cream cheese icing. The bakery was easy to communicate with and we had a great time at our tasting. They delivered the cake on time and easily to our venue. Best of all the cake was gorgeous and our guests were RAVING about how delicious it was. Several guests told us it was the best wedding cake they've ever had. Highly recommend this bakery. We booked with Night Kitchen through our venue and Amy was great! During our tasting/consultation, she made me realize I had more ideas than I thought. Our cake was a lovely low-key white fondant with a "debutante sash" of buttercream flowers in a purple ombré. I was devastated to forget the cake topper at home, but it still tasted good. The bottom layer was mocha chocolate with raspberry jam, the middle was marble with hazelnut buttercream, and the top was yellow with lemon curd. Now that I'm looking at the order info, I'm fairly sure we ended up with mocha/hazelnut and marble/raspberry instead, but no complaints in the end. We were both stuffed on the day, so it's a good thing we had plenty to take home! They supplied us with a mini-tier of the yellow/lemon, as well, so we ate a ton of that. I wish we could have saved a little more of the other flavors for variety (my husband never got to try the chocolate cake), but maybe we'll pick that one for the anniversary cake. Due to working through our venue, they offer a mini first anniversary cake in your flavors, which I think is sweet and way better than trying to freeze a cake successfully.

I absolutely loved our wedding cake! We had 3 tiers: chocolate mocha with chocolate mousse, carrot cake with cream cheese, and chocolate mocha with raspberry. All of our guests raved about how delicious the cake was. Night Kitchen also did a beautiful job with the decoration, I provided some flowers and it was exactly how I imagined. I would highly recommend the Night Kitchen for your wedding cake!

Our catering team included a wedding cake from night kitchen bakery. After taking a phone call with the team at the bakery, I knew that not only was this an easy decision for us, it was obviously the right decision! Everyone was so kind & helpful, and even helped us to set up multiple at home tastings so our loved ones could feel a part of the experience. All of our emails leading up to the wedding were promptly answered, and every time I had to drop by to pick some samples up the entire bakery was always so friendly & efficient! On the day of our wedding, I could not have imagined a more beautiful cake. They say your wedding day goes by very quickly, and my biggest regret is not getting a better look at the cake because it was so stunning. The team at Night Kitchen Bakery created a beautiful floral cake for us, and I cannot wait for the professional pictures to come in so I can see all the beautiful intricate details all over again! The only thing to top the beauty of the cake was the TASTE! My goodness, it was delicious. All our guests couldn't stop raving about it, and we were so happy to get some leftovers to take home (& freeze for our 1 year anniversary! :)). Overall, the entire time was lovely, the cake was a show stopper, and it was the most delicious wedding cake we have ever had!

Night Kitchen has been so easy, flexible, and incredible for us as we have navigated wedding postponing (multiple times) in the last year. I love this place as a neighborhood bakery (desserts are unmatched) which is why we went there for our wedding cake to begin with and now I love it as a great wedding partner! Our wedding was originally planned for 4/3/2020. We did a tasting with Amy, who was so great at helping us figure out what we needed for our wedding size & combining cupcakes and their dessert bars with a wedding cake. Of course we ended up having to postpone our wedding just a couple weeks before, but Amy was great and just told us to let her know when we choose a new date. We've switched our date so many times in the past year as we attempted to navigate if/when we could have a wedding, maybe smaller, maybe outside, but ultimately ended up postponing to this year. Each time I called Amy to update her she was so nice & happy to move the date again, super flexible, kind and honestly one of the easiest vendors we are working with! Though we postponed our wedding last year, we still got married just the two of us, on our original date. This means that we are just about to celebrate our 1 year anniversary before we've had the chance to have our wedding! I reached out to Amy about seeing if they'd be willing to give us our top-tier of our wedding cake for our anniversary, even though they haven't technically baked the wedding cake yet, and she agreed! I really appreciate the flexibility and understanding we've experienced *every* step of the way with Amy & Night Kitchen. I cannot recommend them enough, for both the incredible desserts and variety and for the compassionate & friendly service we've experienced. I've never had a bad or disappointing experience there over the years as a bakery customer and have had a great experience as a bride!

I sort of always thought that wedding cakes had to taste bad but the Night Kitchen proved me wrong! They were easy to work with (even during a pandemic) and provided take-home cupcakes for us to do a cake tasting when they weren't open. We got so many compliments on our cake! Everyone said it was the most delicious wedding cake they'd had.

Night Kitchen was one of the recommended bakeries in our Joseph Ambler Inn wedding package and we could not be more pleased! The cake tasting was fun and delicious with so many different flavors and combinations to choose from. Night Kitchen staff were so attentive and detail oriented - true professionals who eased this bride's mind. They brought our vision to life from our inspiration picture and even color matched to our wedding colors. We chose two different flavor combinations to alternate our layers and everyone loved them!

Our venue, Joseph Ambler Inn, included a wedding cake in their wedding package and we selected Night Kitchen Bakery. There were so many different flavor combinations we tried at the initial tasting that we had to sit for a bit and make a choice. We made the request to have our two cats poking out of the bottom tier of the cake and they made that happen. It was a great way to be able to include our cats in our wedding.

Our cake was beautiful! We even made some late changes (added another flavor about a month before the wedding) and it was no problem! Everyone raved about the cake and there was not a slice to be found at the end of the night- always a good sign!

We had no idea what to expect, but upon our tasting, we approached this quaint, sweet bakery with a perfect little table for two. It was such a simple and enjoyable decision to make considering how delicious everything was. They were so easy to work with, were super flexible, and delivered on exactly what we envisioned. Our favorite part was that they offer a duplicate of your top layer on your first anniversary rather than eating 1-year-old freezer-burnt cake. Thank you for making our vision come to life!

Our cake was perfect! It was even better than I could of imagined! It looked amazing and completely picture perfect! We submitted two pictures to the bakery of what we would like and they did an absolute amazing job creating it for us!! We had a 4 tier wedding cake, each layer different flavor and filling!! Amy was great to work with and made sure to deliver exactly what we wanted! Thank you to Amy and everyone else who worked so hard to make our pictures become reality!!

My husband and I got cupcakes and a small cake from the Night Kitchen Bakery for our recent wedding and everything was delicious and beautifully presented! We LOVED their chocolate cupcakes filled with homemade raspberry jam and topped with chocolate icing. We can not recommend them enough!

The Night Kitchen Bakery made us a delicious and beautiful wedding cake! They had no problem re-creating a cake from a photograph I had or with working with our florist on the day-of.

We used the Night Kitchen Bakery for our wedding in May and they are amazing! The cake tasting was great and they even provided hot chocolate or coffee. They easily accommodate to our design request and made it beautiful! I have a big sweet tooth and the cake was delicious! I was nervous about fondant because I haven’t liked it in the past but theirs is so nice and thin it’s the best fondant I’ve had.

I could not have been happier with the way my cake turned out! The attention to detail was beyond what I expected and it tasted amazing! Even the ordering process was well managed, I felt like I had their full attention and they were willing to do anything they could to make sure I got the cake I wanted and I definitely did! The Night Kitchen did a lovely job with our cake. They arranged the fresh flowers we provided on the cake at no extra cost and it looked amazing. Unfortunately when our venue served the cake they forgot to serve me and the groom any, and the venue did not provide us with the top so we were never actually able to have our wedding cake...but the guests all stated that it tasted great! Working with Amy and her staff was fun and they were very responsive.

Wow. Wow. WOW! I ordered my husbands grooms cake from this bakery and could not be more impressed. It was a Game of Thrones cake and very sculpture-esque - there was a giant throne on the top of the cake entirely hand-made! When I sent them the image that I was aiming for, I had realistic expectations as to how it would turn out... however, it was even BETTER than what I sent them from pinterest! My guests and (especially my) husband were FLOORED and speechless. I wish I could upload a picture here of the grooms cake I received. Amazing work, and well worth the price. If you are looking for a sculpture cake - I BEG YOU to do business with the Night Kitchen. You will not be disappointed. I'm already thinking of what occasion I can use them for next!!

We had the privilege of Night Kitchen Bakery creating our May 5th wedding cake and we were NOT disappointed. The staff were so friendly and collaborated well with us at our tasting. The bakery even called two weeks before to verify with us the amount of guests and that we still wanted the same flavors and style which checked one more thing off my list for me. We are STILL receiving compliments about how delicious the cake was and it truly was the best cake I have ever eaten. Will definitely be recommending for others and using for our own personal bakery needs from now on!

The Night Kitchen Bakery is affiliated with our venue, so our cake was included in our total package. I will say that they have partnered with a wonderful bakery! Our tasting was easy to set up and was delicious. They were very flexible about letting us choose exactly how we wanted our cake to look and taste. With 1 simple email accompanied by a couple of pictures letting them know the layout we wanted and what each tier should be flavored, they totally delivered! The cake was prettier than I imagined and it tasted AMAZING! Cake is a hit or miss at weddings and for some reason, people always remember if it was good or bad. I had no doubt that the Night Kitchen Bakery would come through with a delicious cake, and having friends and family (who aren’t even cake fans) rave about the cake was definitely a plus in my book! We had a wonderful experience with The Night Kitchen and have no doubt that we will be returning customers in the future! We were referred to this bakery by our wedding venue and we had the pleasure of meeting with the owner, Amy Edelman to go over details for our wedding cake. During what was, at times, a very stressful wedding planning experience, our time with Amy was definitely a wonderful highlight. My husband and I brought our mothers to the cake tasting and we had such a nice time at the cozy and welcoming bakery tasting delicious cakes and working with Amy on the design. Amy is so knowledgeable, calm, and reassuring. You have no doubt that you are in great hands from the minute you meet her. When we gave her a few ideas she seemed genuinely excited to make it a reality. We had such a positive experience and our cake turned out beautiful and delicious! We will definitely be contacting them in the future for special occasion cakes and referring others. They really are the best!

The Night Kitchen Bakery was an amazing bakery to work with. We did a tasting with them months before our wedding and their cakes are delicious!!! When we sat down to pick out what we wanted they didn't try to pressure us into anything we didn't want and the cake turned out beautiful, simple and amazing. The delivered it to our venue and they followed up with us multiple times before the wedding to make sure everything was in order. The cake was delicious :)

We had a package with our wedding venue where the cake was included in their price, we had two places to choose from and I am so glad we went with the Night Kitchen Bakery. I mailed the baker one of my inventions and they hand painted the same design with matching colors on the cake. I had a small wedding so we had three layers with two different flavor combinations. The chocolate cake with raspberry jam was awesome. I didn't try the layer with white cake and strawberry filling but my sister loved it. The cake was delivered on time the morning of my wedding and was waiting at the venue when I got there. I highly recommend Night Kitchen Bakery.

This was an amazing experience. We went for our cake tasting and it was so delicious, and the cake baker came in to talk to us personally about designs, as well as the methods they use for their cakes to stay in great condition. We had it delivered to the location 2 hours before we arrived and it kept its shape (AND TASTE!) until dessert time when our 250 guests were able to enjoy it. I would highly recommend this cake bakery to anyone! They also make cakes for regular occasions and they're quite the popular spot!

Our wedding cake from Night Kitchen Bakery was amazing! The staff is extremely friendly, helpful, and patient. At our cake tasting, we were able to look at a ton of pictures to get an idea of what kind of cakes they could provide us, and we had a hard time choosing since they all looked great. We went with a mocha raspberry and chocolate for two tiers, and vanilla with a third tier. The staff did a wonderful job matching the colors to exactly what we wanted, and with the color sample we provided them it was the right colors for our wedding. I'd recommend Night Kitchen Bakery for any other types of desserts as well, as we tried some things at our tasting and loved them all! Thank you!

Originally I thought we would use another bakery. However, we went to Night Kitchen for a tasting and it was delicious. The baker was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a picture of what we wanted our cake to look like and went over any changes. They checked in on us a couple of times from the time of the tasting to the wedding and were always great to speak to. The day of the wedding, when I saw the cake I was in love. I didn't even want to cut it, it was so pretty. Of course we did and it tasted fabulous. I definitely recommend the carrot cake and chocolate cake with chocolate mousse! They do great work.

The Night Kitchen's Pastry Chef, Lisa, was patient, professional, and met our expectations to what my husband and I wanted for our vision of an Afrikan Inspired wedding cake (that went directly with our wedding theme). The cake was superb it was SO PERFECT that I didn't want to cut into the 3 tiered, 3 different flavors…YUMMMMMM!

The cake was perfect, they did everything I asked for and more! As it relates to taste, well, tough to describe that, I just have one word - DELICIOUS! Their chocolate cake and raspberry mousse filling was my favorite. Cake was moist, icing was sweet and decorations were perfection!

The Night Kitchen Bakery was one of two options I was able to choose from based on the catering package of my venue. I was NOT disappointed. The cake was delicious and moist. They designed the cake perfectly according to a picture. It was beautiful, yummy, I am not sure what more you could ask for!

The Night Kitchen did a great job with the cake and they work with the Joseph Ambler Inn so cake delivery and details were flawless. It looked exactly like I wanted it to and tasted amazing too. We did three tiers each with a different flavor. The tasting was so much fun.

We met up with Jessica, the head baker, at her store for a consultation about a year before our wedding. She was very professional and gracious and paid close attention to what we asked for. The end result was absolutely beautiful! We had some strange requests, but she made it all look easy. The cake came on time with no complications and making payments was no problem at all. It was completely worth the money!

Let me preface by saying that I wasn't very particular about the cake. I gave them a couple of photographs, and they did a beautiful job designing my cake. The only quibble i had was that the blue flowers were a little too dark blue. Otherwise, the cake and fillings were perfect for us.

I hate chocolate cake, it's just not my thing, but the Night Kitchen has a chocolate cake that I agreed to use for my wedding cake. We wanted something different and were drawn to the Night Kitchen for their amazing cakes but also for their eco-friendly practices. They were easy to work with when I called to describe what I was looking for and the cake was even better than I imagined. Everyone at the reception thought the cake tasted good and was one of the best cakes they had ever seen.

The Night Kitchen Bakery was included as part of my wedding package at the Joseph Ambler Inn. Not only was the cake delicious, they were willing and able to make it exactly how we imagined it. Since our wedding was on New Year's Eve, and the theme of our evening was rustic winter, we went with a playful snowflake cake with light blue fondant. The head pastry chef sat down with us at our tasting and went through all of the options, and we wound up mixing and matching ideas from a few birthday and seasonal cakes they had done in the past. It turned out exactly how we imagined it, and all of our guests raved about how delicious it was. We already ate our top layer (couldn't help ourselves), but we definitely plan to return to NKB for a fresh 1 year anniversary cake!

I highly recommend the Night Kitchen Bakery!! My wedding cake turned out even more beautiful than I expected, and the cake itself was SO GOOD!! Typically, I think a lot of wedding cakes turn out dry and don't taste very good, and our cake was moist and delicious! I will definitely use them again for other events!!

The pastry chef who worked with us was Jennifer and it was such an honor to have someone so talented decorate our wedding cake. I really wanted our cake decorated with sugar flowers that looked like real flowers. Night Kitchen has a more whimsical style and doesn’t typically decorate cakes with realistic looking flowers but we came up with a design that turned out beautifully. Jennifer did such a good job on the flowers that during the reception one of my bridesmaids asked me what kind of flowers were on the cake… thinking they were real flowers. Mission Accomplished!! We also spent a little extra to have the red velvet cake and it was totally worth it!

I heard about Night Kitchen through my co-workers and never thought I would be able to afford one of their creations. Luckily, the cake was included as part of my catering budget. The staff at Night Kitchen was so friendly and the cake was DELICIOUS! I had a 3 tiered cake and the middle tier had our Monogram. The cake was delivered on time and was perfect, just what I wanted.

We decided to have wedding pie, rather than the traditional wedding cake. The Night Kitchen Bakery did a fantastic job! We ordered 5 different kinds of pie, as well as a gluten-free flourless chocolate cake. They looked so inviting and tasted homemade. The guests raved about them, and really enjoyed our non-standard dessert.

I adored this bakery- they did both my wedding cake and my wedding shower cake- both gorgeous and just delicious. Their designs were fantastic and admired by everyone.

Beautiful and delicious cake!

This cake was SO YUMMY!! We had our cake included in the wedding package at the Joseph Ambler Inn but the red velvet was not included so we paid the small difference to have it as our wedding cake. The only bad thing is that our original guess of count when we met was 50 and then the final count was 76 and when they called me to go over the details 2 weeks before the wedding I told them the guest list was higher they were not very accomidating. But the cake was SO good!

I could not be happier with the beautiful cake made for us by the Night Kitchen. We met with Peri and asked for a simple, elegant cake with an Autumn theme; it was perfect. We received many compliments on the design and taste and stopping at the Night Kitchen for a treat every time we're in Philly has become a ritual. We had three layers: chocolate/chocolate, chocolate/raspberry, pound/lemon. All were delicious and moist. You will not be disappointed! I loved the entire experience, from tasting, through planning through the wedding day. There was such ease in working with them. They are each always very pleasant. The designer allowed me to e-mail her directly and worked with any ideas we had. However, they were very creative so there wasn't much need to give them ideas! They priced everything fairly. The finished cake was gorgeous and tasted amazing!;They just won and continue to win awards as 'Best of Philly' for bakeries. They are even more popular now than 1 1/2 years ago. Call them early to schedule a tasting!
