I didn't look like myself. I don't wear make up for day to day stuff, and his comment stuck with me. So, I very much wanted to look natural and not overdone for the big day. I reviewed the hair and makeup artists individual pages on Nika's website, and looking at their past work and reading more about their philosophies was how I ultimately selected Lia (hair) and Leanna (makeup). The trial went really well, and they day of they integrated my feedback. I felt really beautiful, and my husband thought so too! My mom never wears make up, and Leanna made her feel comfortable and beautiful. My younger sister has extremely fine hair, and Lia's recommendations made her look voluminous with a beautiful updo, like Brigitte Bardot. Highly recommend!

I had a makeup preview with Kristina and it went so smoothly - personally, I wanted something a little lighter/more natural and she gave me a couple options and was very communicative throughout the process. Since I have a pixie cut and was keeping it pretty straightforward, I just chatted with Nora before the big day (rather than doing a hair preview) and she was also incredibly friendly and helpful (and did lots of long hairstyles day-of for family and friends as well). Communicating with Samantha in advance all went super smoothly, as well! Thank you for everything, Nika Vaughan & team!

a heartbeat. Not only was my makeup unbelievably flawless, but so was my Mom's and my bridesmaid's makeup. I don't wear makeup very often and when I do I do the bare minimum, so I had no real idea of what I was looking for. specially accommodating - she showed up after the ceremony to change my hair for a second look and the church kicked us out! (yes, we had confirmed before that we'd be able to stay) she improvised and ran to a coffee shop across the street to ask if we could finish up in the back there - the person was so sweet and allowed it. We had a laugh about it, but truly she was beyond accommodating, staying later than she needed to to wrap things up for me. All with a smile on her face :) She helped me stay calm in a moment of panic and surprise - thank you Julia and ALL of NVBA <3

They have an office manager who is extremely responsive and helps with scheduling trials and the day of timeline. They make processing payment easy as well. ir and makeup done by Lia for makeup and Nora for hair. They were patient and thorough with all 9 of us (!), and everyone loved their final looks. I was glad that I had done a trial with both Lia and Nora beforehand, so on the wedding day, we were already familiar, and they knew what I wanted. And my hair and makeup lasted the whole day and night!!

and had booked several makeup and hair artists for the morning of the wedding for herself and the bridal party. My sister died suddenly and unexpectedly in March. A few days after her death, her fiancé and I began notifying wedding vendors. I reached out to NVBA over three months before the wedding date. I received a response expressing their sympathies, and the email ended with “you can be sure that we are set”. It was me who had to bring up that my sister had paid NVBA in full ($1700). When I asked about a refund, I was told 50% could be refunded. Even when my husband spoke with Nika herself, she would not budge on the 50%, essentially stating that all of the contractors had already been paid, even though zero services were provided. Every other vendor for the wedding, from the venue to the DJ to the photographer, immediately offered a 100% refund. I notified NVBA over 3 months prior to the date, and we had even suggested a refund down the road after summer season, which they refused. Somehow “scheduling” enables them $850, even when the bride dies before the wedding day. I cannot relay how heartbreaking it is that my sister never will get her wedding day. What is so aggravating on top of that is to see how heartless a response NVBA had to the situation. NVBA is making money by doing nothing – and if they rebook (for June 19th) they are 100% double-dipping. Shame on you, NVBA. I honestly don’t know how you sleep at night. Shout out to all of the other vendors (Salvatore’s, Molly’s Cupcakes, Artistrie Co.) for having compassion and doing the right thing.

did an amazing job making everyone's vision for hair and makeup come to life. I've never felt more beautiful! They all arrived early the day of the wedding and were very professional. My issues stem from the lack of flexibility in the contract and the difficulty I had contacting the company during covid. When some of my bridesmaids were no longer able to come because of travel restrictions, I was not able to be refunded for their services, even though I knew at least a month in advance. Instead of a partial refund, a third artist was added to the contract to shorten the appointment time, which ended up working out in the end, but the lack of flexibility during an already stressful time was a little frustrating. Also, the responsiveness May-August was lacking quite a bit. My emails would go unanswered for a week or more, and the window of time that they were available was very small. Again, wedding planning during covid was already stressful enough, so the lack of a timely response only added to that stress. Despite the two issues I had, I would still recommend Nika Vaughan Bridal Artists because they do AMAZING work, and I loved working with all of the artists. I seriously felt like a princess, which is what every bride wants on her wedding day!

han 6 months after their original date. After reading these terms, I emailed Nika's team to discuss this fee. I didn't hear back for over a month. After I emailed again, Nika called and was rude, callous, and indifferent. Although I sympathize with small businesses hit by COVID-19, I do not sympathize with a business owner taking advantage of wedding cancellations. My recommendation? Go with a different bridal artist provider. You won't be missing anything.

vendor list. I adore them. I have also hired this team to do my hair and makeup for my professional headshots and you guys, I LOOKED AMAZING. Any of their incredible artists will make you look and feel like Beyonce. They are FIERCE! I can't recommend them enough. Support your local, small, woman owned businesses y'all!!

and hair stylist Kim beautifully executed on my vision. It was a classy, clean look and did not look like costume-y, just elegant and romantic. They also did make-up and hair services for my mom, grandma, mother-in-law, and 6 bridesmaids. Christina and Kim were fun additions to our getting-ready party and really made each woman feel and look beautiful. Finally, I also want to thank the team office manager, Molly, who I emailed and spoke with over the phone in the months prior- she was so helpful and really just made the whole experience easy. definitely had experiences in the past with hair and makeup artists for other weddings I've been in to where I feel like they weren't actually individualizing what they were doing - absolutely not the case with Nika Vaughan Bridal Artists. Samantha (hair) and Jen (makeup) were so amazing! I have honestly never felt more beautiful in my life - they are so, so talented and so much fun. Alex also helped with doing hair + makeup for my bridal party, and was also so great. Everyone looked incredible and most importantly, loved how they looked. 5+ stars across the board!

T disappoint. Everyone at Nika Vaughan's studio in Noble Square was warm and welcoming during our trial appointments. Nika herself complimented the styles and sat with us to make the experience even more special. The day of the wedding, Yvonne and Julia were right on time to the venue. We laughed and joked together while they worked. Everyone was happy with their look and the styles lasted all night with minimal touch ups. The bridesmaids did up-dos with a braided element throughout. I had an angled bob with curls. We all went with a natural look for makeup. I couldn't imagine going with any other salon and I could not have been more thrilled with our results. Thank you Nika Vaughan and thank you Yvonne & Julia!

up. The makeup was very natural and lasted the entire night with little to no touch ups. My makeup artist, Christina, was very professional and on-time. Molly, the office coordinator, was great at communicating with my planner through email and was flexible with working with my day-of timeline. As the bride, they also gifted me a small makeup emergency kit which I thought was very thoughtful. Overall great.

And that’s what we kept saying all day about both the hair and makeup. We all felt like ourselves, but upgraded. We didn’t look fake or plastered, and all felt totally beautiful and NEVER wanted to take off our makeup or undo our hair! I actually wore my makeup to our day after brunch and I still felt beautiful. They were organized, took notes on what I wanted, were all so sweet and helpful, and they made me feel comfortable speaking up when I wanted something different. I originally worked a little bit with Nika, and she made me feel like a family member in her home. She respected my preferences and was just there to make me happy and I was so grateful for that. I would recommend Nika Vaughn Bridal Artists to EVERYYYYYY bride getting married!!!! This is how you want to remember yourself in 20, 30, 40 years in your wedding pictures—like yourself, glowing, happy, and authentic on your wedding day.

ar. The whole booking and scheduling process is streamlined and easy. They provided all of the detail I needed and answered any questions I had quickly. I had a ton of fun doing the preview and never felt nervous or weird about giving feedback. Nika is a super sweet person and is very skilled at what she does. The day of everything went SO well and my hair and makeup held up great! I got a lot of compliments on both :) The "getting ready" portion of a wedding is a pretty vulnerable time (the ramp up to the ceremony, nerves, excitement, etc) so it was essential to have a caring and calm person there while you're getting pretty. Plus, she made sure I didn't get a sunburn that day! For sure recommend this company to anyone getting married!

I had a diverse bridal party and needed to find artists that could work with different hair textures/lengths/thickness, skin colors/maturity, etc. I am so lucky to have found Julia and Francely of Nika Vaughan. Julia was the hair transformation goddess for me and my party, and its safe to say I love Julia. I didn't have a preview before my wedding. I'm the epitome of bridechilla and knew I just wanted some sort of romantic updo and trusted Julia enough to be open to whatever she thought would work best. Julia delivered. Not only did she do a fantastic job on my hair (and my party's) but she was such a joy to work with. She was so kind and sweet and we all enjoyed our time with her. Francely was no different and did an incredible job. Everyone was obsessed with their makeup and wants Francely to do their makeup everyday. She was the ultimate professional and came prepared and excited to get us all wedding ready. I have already and will continue to recommend Julia & Francely to any of my friends in need because they're two of the best.

Needless to say, I did not have high hopes for wedding makeup, and assumed that no matter what I would have to touch up my own. The second Jen handed me a mirror to look at her work, I was BLOWN AWAY! I have never felt more beautiful, and can't thank her enough for the magic she worked. Apart from her stunning work quality, she was so calm and pleasant to have around! She made my day, and I can't recommend her highly enough!!

They were also very responsive and proactive about confirming the day of schedule and services. Kristina is so great at creating a look that is polished, elegant and fresh. She can turn up the volume/glam it up as well without it looking too heavy. I also liked that she uses individual lash extensions rather than a strip. It creates a much more natural look. Xochitl is so talented as well. I arrived to my trial run appointment with a few pictures but not a clear idea of what I was looking for. After looking at the photos for a less than a minute she pulled together this Old Hollywood Glamour do with the most gorgeous waves. Probably one of the best investments you can make for your day. Her stylists will make you and your bridal party look flawless.

Angelica and Christina were incredibly accommodating, made the space at our house work for their needs, and had great attitudes that contributed to an awesome environment for us all to get ready in. Prior to the wedding, I had two hair trials with Angelica (I changed my mind about the type of hairstyle I wanted and Angelica helped me figure out the best look!) and one makeup trial with Christina. Since we had already figured out the exact looks, I was able to feel really calm and confident on the big day.
