Nilah did such an amazing job putting my wedding dress vision together! She made the process seamless and easy!

Nilah is incredible. She altered my sisters bridal gown, mother of the bride dress as well as my bridesmaid dress and even made a better bustle on the flower girl dress. The brides was nervous but Nilah set her at ease and the dress looked like it was made just for the bride, fitting every curve of her body. In addition Nilah custom made the brides veil which was beautiful and accented the dress perfectly. I have never heard of or been to a better dress fitting and have already passed along Nilah’s information to others.

Nilah was amazing!! The bustle she created looked so natural and beautiful. All of our guests were amazed by it. She was so quick and responsive, her work speaks for itself! Amazing!!!

Nilah was very kind and helpful throughout the whole process. After buying my sample gown, I got quite nervous that the very intricate dress would be too big to alter to my size. She brought it from a 12 to about a 2 with no issues-- it fit so well no one could notice that it had been altered so drastically. She recommended and added a silk ribbon lining to my dress due to my sensitive skin. She created a bustle to highlight the details on my train. She pressed my dress and veil and it was ready to go on the day of the wedding with no additional work! She did a beautiful job and for a good price given the amount of work she had to do! Working with Nilah to get my wedding dress altered was such a pleasure. I drove over a half hour away from where I live to go to Nilah, specifically based on the reviews I saw online. She exceeded my expectations. She made me feel comfortable through every step of the process. I have been holding onto my wedding dress for over 3 years due to the pandemic, and it felt like a big step to finally hand my dress over to Nilah, and her warmth and expertise reassured me it was in the right hands! My dress was fairly intricate, but it came out absolutely perfect. It fit perfectly in every way.

Nilah and her incredible staff made the process of wedding dress alterations as easy as possible! My Enzoani Pearl dress was extremely intricate, and I needed a significant amount of alterations in the waist and hip areas. Nilah expertly tailored my dress so it fit exactly perfectly, without any evidence that it had ever been significantly altered. She was timely in making the alterations, squeezing in a second fitting the week of my wedding to ensure that my dress fit exactly as I wanted it to. She also pressed my gown and veil so perfectly that I didn’t even need to touch it up on my wedding day. I can’t recommend Nilah highly enough!

Nilah and her team are AMAZING! My dress fit like a glove and she did an excellent job cleaning my mother’s wedding dress which had not been preserved at all that I wore to a smaller, intimate church wedding ceremony in addition to wearing my modern gown at our larger event. Nilah was fantastic to work with for my wedding dress alterations! We did multiple fittings and she spent the time to make sure everything looked and fit right. She also updated my veil so that it had a nicer metal comb versus the plastic it came with. She stored my dress through my postponed wedding and then steamed both my dress and veil so that it would be ready for the day. Thank you Nilah!

Nilah did the alterations on my wedding dress and truly, it was like buying the dress again. I loved her presence and her expertise. My dress had little cap sleeves but needed to be brought up. Nilah made the decision on what to do to get the sleeve to look its best and definitely made the right one to ensure my dress fit perfectly and looked its best too. I had one thing that pinched and Nilah fixed it so it would be comfortable for me to wear on my wedding day. Critical: Quality, Value I hired Nilah after researching top seamstress in Philly and I am still shocked at the way my alterations turned out- $600 down the drain! She literally dropped a piece of fabric in the back of my dress and it looked like a had a curtain or a table cloth attached to my lower back! I could have went to the local cleaners and paid them $50 and they would have done much better job...

Nilah and Liza are a fantastic, dependable, talented team. Nilah & Company were suggested to me by a wedding dress store that carried other dressers by my designer. From the very first interaction, I knew I was in the best of hands. Liza was quick to answer my e-mail and set-up an initial appointment. In every subsequent communication, Liza was prompt to respond and always helpful. Nilah is a gem. She is a true artist and simply delightful. She knew exactly how to make my dress/veil work from the fit, to the hem, to catching a mistake of the original factory. When I tried on my dress at my final fitting, I felt so comfortable with these girls, that I bawled my eyes out alone with Nilah. It was a special moment I will never forget. You will not regret choosing to work with these two amazing individuals. They are the BEST.

Nilah was an absolute dream to work with and made alterations on my wedding dress so easy. Nilah was fantastic to work with! The alterations on my dress (Maggie Sotero, with a long train and quite a lot of lace) were absolutely perfect. After reading reviews online, I contacted Nilah for alterations for my wedding dress. I had a short engagement and was in a time crunch. Nilah was able to schedule me quickly for the fittings. She did an excellent job adding more coverage and detail to the back of the dress as well as adding more support. She was very calm and patient during the process and eased my fears about the dress. Nilah came highly recommended by Mari Mi Bridal, where I purchased my dress from. Nilah has many years of experience so I fully trusted her with the alteration – especially given that she is also a dressmaker. The result was great – the dress looked so much better once she altered it for me. She also provides cleaning and preservation service for the dress and veil, which is convenient for me! Lastly, she offered an additional last fitting for me given that I was flying internationally before the wedding –so thoughtful. **no hidden fee with my experience - I think that is rare!

Nilah altered me and my mom's dresses. She is incredible. Not only is she skilled, she is just a joy to work with. She clearly knows her stuff. Nilah was amazing and did an incredible job on my tricky Oscar de la Renta lace wedding gown. She was so knowledgeable and knew the specific name of my special lace, without me even ID'ing the designer, so I knew she'd take the same care with alterations as I had with choosing the gown in the first place. She was flexible with appointments, had great communication and helped me with opinions from everything, including style of veil and bustle. Everything fit just perfectly, and the bustle was so easy to get right on the day-of. I can't wait to share photos!

Nilah & Company was great with my dress alterations! I purchased my dress from Kleinfeld's and had it shipped directly to Nilah. She waited until I arrived for my first fitting to take the dress out. Nilah was so incredibly helpful in creating the perfect bustle and making sure it was the fit and look I wanted. Nilah is wonderful! We had only 3 months to plan our wedding. I found my dress at The Sample Rack, but it was 2 sizes to big and I needed an excellent alterations expert. Nilah came highly recommended and I'm so glad she was available to work with me. She and her staff are kind and professional and after 2 fittings, my dress fit perfectly. Nilah also listened to my concerns and made adjustments based on my needs. She also has many beautiful veils and jewelry available. I got my hair jewelry and earring from her and both got lots of positive comments. The dress, by the way, almost stole the show. People loved it, including me!

Nilah was fantastic, very professional and tailored my wedding dress so that it fit like a glove! I needed it to be taken in, had a bustle added, and required some padding in the boob area. Nilah was able to do all this and I felt like a princess on the day of!

We had a very bad experience at Nilah’s. The bridal gown needed some filling out at the top of the dress. She placed white pillow stuffing just inside the top on both sides of each cup and did not cover the stuffing (the gown was sand color). We understood that she was going to place it inside the fabric, not just hand stitch it to the top. You could easily see the stuffing from any angle. We noted this to her; she said that was all she could do. Strange, I was able to open up the fabric behind the cups to slide the stuffing in place, with only a day to spare prior to the wedding and it couldn’t be seen!! Also, she sewed one of the straps on too tight and it broke while we were there. When she reattached it, she sewed it on too tight again and twisted it, so that the strap did not lay properly and broke just before the wedding ceremony....Thanks much Nilah! You should be ashamed of yourself and the amount that you charged! You use the term ‘seamstress’; you are no seamstress and clearly you have no conscience!

Nilah saved my wedding dress. It came as two pieces from Israel, without attachments to connect the top to the skirt, the skirt while apparently 'made to fit my body' was extremely too large, while beads from the top were falling off left and right. Nilah turned it into one piece and fixed any lose beading. She also altered it perfectly to my body, and added a gorgeous belt. I went from being extremely disappointed in my dress decision, to loving it and getting so many compliments. I definitely recommend Nilah for any dress alterations!

If you are looking for professional, Nilah is your seamstress. Nilah clearly communicated with me throughout the process and delivered a wonderfully altered dress, on time, without any hassle. She was very accommodating to scheduling fittings and final dress pick up. She provided a price for alterations at the first fitting and explained all the work she would be doing to the dress. Communication was clear and easy throughout the entire process. I am by no means an expert in wedding dress alterations, but did my research ahead of time, so when I arrived the first time asking about french bustles and the ability to line the beading around my shoulders due to some redness the beading was causing my skin, Nilah knew exactly what to do. I also felt like Nilah did a fantastic job listening to my vision for the style of wedding I wanted, and making alterations to the dress to best flatter my body (because everyone has a different body). I would highly recommend her to anyone who asks me in the future.

Nilah did an AMAZING job altering my wedding dress. Nilah is professional, has an incredible attention to detail and can make all of your veil and wedding dress dreams come true. My dress was incredibly fitted and made me extremely nervous. Additionally, I had to get the dress taken in a few times as I lost weight over the span of my engagement period. With each alteration appointment I became more and more confident in this dress as Nilah tailored it to perfection. Nilah also makes beautiful veils and my veil went with my dress perfectly. One of the things I loved most about my dress was the way that Nilah bustled it. I had a long train and she bustled it into a double french bustle. it was INCREDIBLY elegant and brought a whole new dimension to the dress. Finally, Nilah's prices are EXTREMELY FAIR. I had budgeted almost double the amount for alterations in comparison to what Nilah's alterations cost. The bottom line is that Nilah and Company is the full package in every way and if you want to have the most amazing dress and veil you will go to Nilah & Company!

Listen to Nilah. She knows dresses! From the undergarments to the hemline, my strapless dress fit perfectly all day and all night. She was extremely professional and provided great advice to myself, mother and bridesmaids too, with multiple questions, taking the worry away. I even bought my hair clip and earrings at her shop - so perfect and elegant. If you're in the Philadelphia region, make an appointment - this is one less vendor to decide!

My wedding dress needed a lot of changing and she provided many ideas to fix the dress the way that I wanted that when I tried it on during my last fitting, I cried. Nilah and Company is quick to respond and did alterations on my wedding dress. I also purchased a lace Grace Kelly length (also known as waltz length) veil from Nilah. Nilah listened to me when I asked her not to make my dress too tight so I could dance. I also debated if I wanted a Juliet cap style veil or not and Nilah was able to meet with me a couple times so I could try on different options. Great service highly recommended for wedding dress alterations and veil purchases. The price is worth it. I paid $285 for the veil and $535 for alterations.

I bought my wedding gown at Elizabeth Johns in Ardmore, and Nilah was the first on their list of recommendations for alterations. I was thrilled that Nilah's office is located about a mile from my home in Havertown, PA. Jennifer worked with me to set up appointments, provide pricing for accessories, and answer any questions that I may have had. She always greeted me and my guests at the door with a smile. When my schedule got a bit crazy, Jennifer patiently provided options for dates and times for fittings. She is an asset to Nilah's business! Nilah herself was incredible - she made my gown into exactly what I pictured, and it fit PERFECTLY the day of the wedding. Nilah was able to change the bodice of the gown into a sweetheart shape, something I really wanted from the beginning, with no problem. The half French, half American bustle that she added was gorgeous! Nilah also provided choices for accessories, and I purchased a beautiful rose gold cluster belt (which she secured to the dress) and two hair pieces. She even custom made my Grace Kelly length veil with a silk ribbon edge, and it complimented the gown perfectly. Lastly, she saved scraps from my dress for my florist to use for my bouquet. The service and alterations are well worth the price. Definitely contact Nilah & Company if you need alterations!

Nilah is an expert at her craft! She was professional and offered specific suggestions on how to make my dress look perfect! She cleaned and fixed my mom's veil and made it look brand new. They have a beautiful selection of jewelry and hair pieces as well. My entire experience was awesome and her work is perfection!

Our daughter purchased ;her Monique Lhuillier, Peony, wedding gown on Once Wed. She initially had the alterations completed by a local seamstress. When she came home, she was in tears. My daughter felt that she was rushed through the fitting, that the seamstress did not listen to her, and was not willing to store the gown and give it its final steaming just prior to the wedding. UGH!!! A search of The Knot led us to Nilah & Co. in Havertown! This experience was the antithesis of of first one. Nilah and her staff were very reassuring, knowledgeable, professional, and made my daughter feel like she was the only bride in the world!! The alterations were perfect, we bought a hair comb there, and the gown was steamed and ready for the big day!!!! My daughter was a beautiful, confident bride! After the wedding when I called about preserving and cleaning, they suggested that if my daughter wanted to use her wedding gown for a christening gown for future children, that she should wait for the cleaning and have them make the christening gown!!!!

After looking everywhere for a backless dress I fell in love with online (only available in Brazil!), I talked to a few different dress-makers. Nilah was the only one who said she could do it the way I wanted. She even told me to not pay her extra by having it made by scratch, but find an off the rack dress that had elements I liked and she could build from there for a portion of the price! She couldn't go "quite" as low as I wanted due to the construction of the original dress, but she made every little change from the original design that I wanted and was extremely nice about everything from Day 1 until the wedding. Everyone couldn't stop telling me how great my dress was. I found a nice cheap floor model (strapless, mid-back,huge puffy full chiffon skirt, with way too much bling on the bodice), and Nilah completely transformed it into just what I wanted (fitted lace bodice, low backless, low waist,flowy chiffon skirt without all the puff!). Thank you again Nilah!

Nilah & Company was one of the best choices I made! I bought my dress from J Crew - it was a simple slip dress that Nilah was able to impeccably tailor so it fit me like a glove. The bustle was perfect for dancing all night! The alterations were beautiful and Nilah was wonderful to work with. My wedding was a destination and Nilah gave me some tips for travelling through the airport and even a special bag to ensure the dress remained clean and pressed. I was comfortable all night and never had to worry about my dress! I highly recommend!!

I found out about Nilah through my mom’s friend, and thank goodness I did! I had bought a dress a few sizes too big and not exactly what I wanted, but I had a vision. I met with Nilah, and tried to explain what I was thinking, she immediately responded and showed me exactly my dream dress. The next day she told me the quote for the services and I had her get started right away. I had looked at the veils that she did, and they were gorgeous, however for something that I was only going to wear for an hour (I took my veil off after the ceremony) I could not bring my self to spend what hers were priced at. I found something similar on etsy for a fraction of the price, but I am sure the quality was not as great as hers would’ve been. For the dress alterations the price was great and my dress turned out EXACTLY how I pictured it would. I felt so beautiful and had not a single dress “issue” the day of...It even made it out to the bar after the after party!!!!

Nilah did my alterations as well as custom designed my veil. That veil has been given RAVE reviews... Im in love with it and it is SO beautiful.

Working with Nilah was one of the best parts of my wedding planning process. I wasn't a bride that had planned my wedding since I was 12 and so all of the decisions were very overwhelming to me. Nilah helped me so much with knowing what I could do with my dress and veil and also gave general wedding advice/tips that really helped me feel comfortable on the wedding day. Nilah and Co remade my sample dress into my dream dress! She replaced my bodice, added a custom straps and sash, plus the hem and bustle. I received rave reviews on my dress as it's one of a kind. I LOVE it! Due to my birth control my chest shrunk and grew three times in the last few weeks and Nilanh was doing alternations up until the day before the wedding. Nilah also custom made a two piece outfit for my mom. My mom could not find anything she liked so Nilah designed something perfect, combining a few different styles of dresses my mom liked. Finally Nilah altered my sister's MOH dress. I can't recommend Nilah enough!

I had a mermaid style dress and I had to order it big to fit my hips, but the rest really needed some work. I was nervous! I went to Nilah and she was wonderful. At the first fitting, it didn't fit right and she fixed it again within a week. Also, my wedding was in Mexico so I had to travel with it, and she taught me how to carry it through the airport so I wouldn't have to get it pressed down there. I think I probably could have paid less elsewhere, but why worry when she does an amazing job!

I bought my dress at The Sample Rack ($800 for a $4000 sample!) It fit perfectly but I needed a bustle and also ironing. She was great and it was cozy to be in her place.
