9Mile Smile was the perfect band for our wedding. Kurtis was always in contact and on top of all the planning aspects well ahead of the event. The band performed specific songs we requested, as well as adapted the setlist to be more aligned with the type of music we enjoy. They were the life of the party and all guests were highly praising their talents. I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for a live band for their event.

Beyond the best wedding band out there!!!! They keep the party going all night!!! Our guests raved about how great our band was!! They learn 4 songs that you pick out. For our wedding we had them learn our 1st dance song, a song that my husband and I love and has a lot of meaning to us!!! They did an incredible job we might have even liked it better than the original!!!! The whole band is super friendly and awesome to work with!!!! They not only sound amazing but do an awesome light show and everything to boot!!!! Love nine mile smile!!!!!

I have to admit, hiring a band for our wedding reception was my husband’s idea and at first I was worried. I was nervous a band wouldn’t be able to entertain our guests like a DJ. Then we found Nine Mile Smile and my attitude all changed. Kurtis, our main contact, was incredibly responsive and helpful. Never did we wait longer than 24 hours for a response. Their song-list was well-rounded and included almost every song we could have wanted. I will say, the day of, they did tend to play the songs they wanted despite our requests but that didn’t seem to impact our guests experience. Nine Mile Smile had our reception timeline. Of course, things can get behind scheduled as planned. We would recommend someone continue to with communicate with Nine Mile Smile during the event to keep things moving. Live music added a different element and was a unique way to separate our receptions from others. They helped us and the crowd dance the night away!

I knew right away that I wanted Nine Mile Smile to play at our wedding, making sure they were available before finalizing the date! As expected, they were AWESOME! They made sure everything was taken care of and ran smoothly, and were complete professionals with their equipment set-up & sound. They do a great job at playing a variety of music, appealing to the wide range of tastes that come with a large event like a wedding. Our guests are STILL talking about how great the band was! WORTH EVERY PENNY!!!

Nine Mile Smile was the best part of our wedding reception. They had our guests up and dancing the entire night. They even played an encore because we did not want the night to end. It was a nice added bonus they learned three songs for us as well. From the very beginning Kurtis was so easy to work with. He always responded to my questions in a timely matter. We also have to give a shout out to Mike who played the guitar during our ceremony. He did an amazing job. I would highly recommend Nine Mile Smile.

We hired Nine Smile Smile without ever having seen them play in person. We watched a few songs online, but that was it. Throughout the planning process, Kurtis was wonderful to communicate with - he was always very quick to respond and always provided me with the information that I needed. Jordan has the most beautiful voice, and she did an amazing job with our first dance song. She also did a beautiful rendition of "Wind Beneath My Wings" for my dance with my dad. The band can play ANYTHING! My husband is a huge Dave Matthews fan, and they did a great job with the DMB song that we requested. They kept the dance floor packed the entire night! There were so many people left at the end of the night that just wanted to keep dancing, which is exactly what we wanted! We had so many of our guests say how wonderful the band was and even had people ask for their contact information to potentially hire them for their event. We could not recommend Nine Mile Smile enough for your wedding or next party! Super wonderful, friendly, talented band!!!

We really can't say enough great things about Nine Mile Smile! Our entire wedding day was so much more than we could have ever imagined, and they had such a large part in making that happen! From the very beginning, Kurtis went WAY above and beyond with communication and answering any little question we had - and he always answered almost immediately! My father really wanted our father/daughter song to be a surprise and Kurtis was excellent with communicating with him and keeping it a secret, too! During the wedding, we could really sense the enjoyment and pride that the band had in producing great music and a great atmosphere! I have even heard rumors that the guitarist at the ceremony, Mikey, may have been so "in the moment" that he may have shed a few tears :) Afterward, Jordan and Kurtis even thought to personally THANK US for the fun night! THEY were the ones who deserved the thanks! Nine Mile Smile was worth every penny and then some! I can't give them 100 stars, but I wish I could!

I highly suggest having Nine Mile Smile play at your wedding! From my initial contact with the band, throughout the planning and until the wedding day, they always remained extremely responsive and professional. We had the band play at our wedding ceremony and reception and it was absolutely perfect. They are able to learn songs they don't know and can play any genre of music! I have no complaints whatsoever!

I can't recommend Nine Mile Smile enough! They kept the party going at our reception and were an absolute pleasure to work with! Kurtis replies almost instantaneously and really worked with me about the power situation for our outdoor wedding. If you're looking for an excellent and very high energy cover band, you should definitely book Nine Mile Smile!

I would recommend this band in a heartbeat! Our wedding was almost 6 months ago and people are still talking about nine mile smile! They were incredibly professional from start to finish, easy to communicate with and flexible with me changing my mind or being unsure of what exactly I wanted! They kept the energy up at the wedding and balanced the type of songs really well. We couldn't be happier with our choice to have nine mile smile do our wedding!!!

Cannot recommend Nine Mile Smile highly enough! They were so amazing. They learned 4 songs for us and knocked them all out of the park. Plus their MC'ing was such an important part of my wedding's flow, they kept the schedule perfectly and everyone had a blast dancing. Also, they DJ when the band is taking breaks so they can play live music and typical party songs.

Nine Mile Smile was awesome!! When planning for our wedding we knew we definitely wanted to have a live band. We searched and listened to a couple different bands, but no one compared to Nine Mile Smile! We knew we wanted them immediately after we heard them! We were so happy we chose them to play at our wedding reception. People were on the dance floor all night and everyone commented on how good they were. One of our guests told us they were the best band they had ever heard at a wedding! Kurtis was so quick at responding to all our questions and requests and they were all so professional. Friends of ours getting married next year, wanted their name so they could book them. I would recommend 9 mile smile to anyone, they were really great to work with and sounded amazing!

This band is amazing and very grateful to have had them at my wedding. They allowed me to see the list of songs, which had old to new, to country and hip hop. They were amazingly flexible during the wedding as we ran a bit behind. The quality was amazing, and picked great songs to dj while on breaks. I would highly recommend this band! Highlight of my night!

We contracted with Nine Mile Smile for my daughter and son-in-law's wedding, and they were AWESOME! There are so many details to planning a wedding, and Kurtis and Nine Mile Smile made the music one of the easiest! From the first day we contacted them, all the way through the wedding, their main concern was that the music and dancing was what the bride and groom wanted, and that we were able to relax and have fun. We had FUN! The evening was very warm and humid, and our venue didn't have air. I was worried that no one would dance, but, believe me, with Nine Mile Smile, that wasn't a problem. They kept the party going right to the end! The band offers to learn 4 special songs for the event; one of the songs our kids chose was Remix to Ignition. The band commented that it was one of the hardest they had ever had to learn, and then they played it like it was a piece of cake! Our guests are still commenting about our wonderful band. My son-in-law is a musician with a band that plays clubs in Chicago. As we were interviewing bands, we asked several of them if he could join them on stage for a song, and the request was turned down every time--some of the responses were very strange. So, when we were contracting with Nine Mile Smile, we didn't even ask. And then, a week or so before the wedding, Kurtis emailed and invited him to sing a song or two with them! You can rely on musicians to know quality music. We listened to so many music tracks from bands across the mid-west. We interviewed a handful. We hired Nine Mile Smile, and we would do it again. You won't be disappointed if you hire them!

If you're looking for a band for your wedding, don't look any further! Nine Mile Smile was recommended to us by a friend and I am so glad we went with them – they are AWESOME. Great performers and genuinely nice people. Leading up to the wedding, they were by far our most responsive (and thus favorite) vendor to work with. On the day of the wedding, they were on top of everything and so much fun. They let us get up on stage, sing songs with them, dance – whatever we wanted. They were flexible and truly a blast. We've heard (and are still hearing) so many good things from our guests. I'm serious – don't look any further!

I was expecting Nine Mile Smile to be a good band with there reviews, but in all honesty they were fantastic beyond my expectations. They played all the songs we requested and even let me get up on stage and sing to my new bride "You are so Beautiful" which she was. I loved that they MC ed the evening and made the whole event flow smoothly. I would recommend them to anyone looking to add something special to the most special night of our lives.

I can't say enough awesome things about this band - from the moment I inquired with them, Kurtis was nothing but helpful and easy going. This band truly brought the life to the party the night of my wedding. I trusted that everything would run smoothly with them and it did! Highly recommended to everyone! My husband and I agree our wedding was the most fun we've ever had, thanks in no small part to Nine Mile Smile. When we chose our venue NMS was the recommended band, we had never heard them so we snuck into another reception to hear them and we were sold within 60 seconds. Kurtis made the process easy and convenient from the initial contact through the reception. We wanted to make our own playlist for the cocktail hour (we aren't really soft jazz kind of people) and Kurtis was happy to accommodate our online playlist for the cocktail hour and during the very short breaks they took. That night and in the time since I have had TONS of people say our wedding was the most fun wedding they have ever attended and specifically called out NMS as being amazing! They learned Uptown Funk for us and it was a HUGE hit, especially with my 5 year old nephews who love that song! My husband and I hardly left the dance floor we were having so much fun. I would HIGHLY recommend NMS to anyone for their wedding. Whatever your musical style is or your crowd's style NMS will accommodate from their large set list. The music at your reception can make or break it and NMS will ensure an amazing time for everyone! I can't say enough how much fun we had and how great Nine Mile Smile is!!

Nine Mile Smile was honestly one of the best investments that we made on our wedding day. They were prompt and professional; we felt completely at-ease entrusting them with the details of our big day. Kurtis was fantastic at always answering our emails right away, which is great when trying to finalize all of the last minute details. They thought of everything! We had total faith in their song selection and they kept our reception rocking from start to finish. They were also really great at coordinating lighting within our event space, which was an added surprise that we were not expecting. The dance floor was packed the entire evening, and even now... MONTHS after our wedding... our guests are still talking about how amazing our wedding band was. They are high energy, appeal to all generations, and made us feel like their personal friends throughout the entire process. Recommend them 100%!

During the wedding planning process, my husband and I agreed on one thing: We wanted to throw an awesome dance party. However, he wanted a DJ and I wanted a band. I did a ton of research and after countless recommendations, we booked Nine Mile Smile. Working with Kurt was seamless! He answered every email and alleviated every concern. Two months before the wedding, I panicked! I was thinking "OH NO! I've never heard this band...What if they are horrible?!" He gave me phone numbers of real brides he had played for, and they all had the same reaction: You have nothing to worry about. They were right...Nine Mile Smile made our wedding the best night ever. The dance floor was completely packed the entire night. They let our crowd be wild and let my family get up and do a karaoke version of "Friends In Low Places." It was the best night ever! We got married at the Yacht Club in Bay Harbor and even the wedding planner there said they were the best wedding band she's heard. She added them to her vendor list and booked them for New Year's Eve...That says a lot! You can't go wrong with this band. They are amazing!

Kurtis and the 9 Mile Smile band were awesome. They made our wedding night. Our guests raved about the band and asked where we found them. People we have never seen dancing at family weddings before were dancing all night - we couldn't drag them off the dance floor. Our guests were even yelling 'encore!' at the end of the night - have never seen that at a wedding before! Will definitely be recommending the band to our single friends!

Nine Mile Smile was an exceptional band and I would absolutely recommend them to anyone for their wedding! There are a few major things to mention: •Personality! Everyone in the band was just lovely to work with. I had a lot of communication with Kurtis in advance of the bid day. He was always very responsive and accommodating and just a friendly/fun person. The day of the wedding I am thrilled to say the rest of his band mates were the same! Just a great group of people that I really enjoyed having on our big day •Flexibility and Patience. Kurtis was so great in accommodating our special requests and needs. He worked with my dad and I to learn are really unique old tap dance song so that we could have a really special dance together. Additionally when my MIL picked a truly ridiculous song, Kurtis was able to make that work too! I never felt there was something I couldn’t ask of the group. Additionally onsite they took any special requests we had and worked them into their set where it made perfect sense. •Variety. The place list is really truly exceptional. My husband and I have pretty varied tasted and Nine Mile Smile had a bit of everything. And since the only thing we can’t stand is country, which was easy to just pull off the list. Plus the 4 song choices, wonderful! •PARTY! The whole reason for going with a band instead of a DJ was that we really wanted our wedding to be an amazing party and to have a great atmosphere. Mission Accomplished! Our dance floor was full the entire night and people loved the variety of music to dance too. Kurtis and crew were great at reading the audience and playing the music that would keep everyone on their feet. We really can’t thank Nine Mile Smile enough for their amazing performance. It was truly a pleasure to work with them and was better than we even imagined!

My fiance and I were dead set on having a band at our wedding but felt very overwhelmed with finding one that fit our very different musical styles. We researched bands all over the state of Michigan and even Chicago but we couldn't quite find a perfect fit without spending an arm and a leg (and we had a pretty large budget for this portion of our wedding!) 9 Mile Smile was referred to us by a friend who had them at their wedding the summer before and absolutely loved them. Once we listened to some of their music and saw some video, we were hooked. It only got better from there. Kurt and the entire band was so easy to work with. They communicated back and forth quickly and were very helpful throughout the entire process. What sets this band apart from others (besides Jordan's AMAZING voice along with a stellar male singer as well), is the fact that they will learn up to 4 songs for you in addition to their eclectic song list. That seriously made our night to have EVERY song that we wanted played. I could go on and on about every detail about them that made our night absolutely perfect but there are not enough words. From talking to others who have had them, I know that they do this for all their clients and have as much fun as you are! We would absolutely recommend them to anyone and we hope we get to attend a wedding with them again soon!

I feel like I should start with the fact that, it's been exactly one month since our wedding, and I can honestly say that EVERYONE, of all ages, is still talking about how epic our band, Nine Mile Smile, was. My new husband and I had originally heard them at a wedding, where we danced all night - l still remember the moment when Frank and I looked at each other and squealed with excitement, "THIS BAND IS AMAZING!" And so, when we got engaged a few months later, there was absolutely no question as to who we would hire for our big day. Some of my favorite things about Nine Mile Smile (besides their incredible ability to keep a party rocking from the moment they take the stage) is their extremely impressive professionalism, flexibility and excellent communication skills. They were SO on top of everything, from encouraging us to provide them with our special song requests to helping us understand the timeline of events for the "day-of" the wedding. It's easy for a bride/groom to get lost and confused during the final weeks leading up to the wedding when there are so many different venders to coordinate, so we were incredibly grateful with how much our main point-of-contact, Kurtis, helped us throughout that particularly chaotic time. Nine Mile Smile is truly the whole package. Mikey played acoustic at our ceremony, and even learned a special version of a song that I had found on YouTube, and he NAILED it - there wasn't a dry eye in the house! They emceed the whole night, provided their own lighting and sound equipment (and could have even supported running the sound for our outdoor ceremony, too, if we had needed it.) And, most important, the dance floor was PACKED the whole time - from kids to grandparents, Reverends to our 20-something aged friends! Their set list is filled with classics and new hits to entertain everyone! They even let my talented friend guest-sing a song with them, which was very special to us. To top it all off, I feel like I became friends with them all in the process. It's an awesome feeling to know that we had such great people share their talents with us and our closest family and friends during the important night in our lives. We cannot thank Nine Mile Smile enough and will continue to recommend them to everyone we know!

One thing my husband and I knew early in our wedding planning process was that we wanted a live band at our reception. We are not a fan of tacky wedding DJs! My internet search for wedding bands was quickly narrowed when I found Nine Mile Smile's website and watched their YouTube videos. Their schedule had them playing at a local bar, so we stopped by and listened... They are talented performers and we knew right away that we wanted to hire them. Nine Mile Smile has an impressive song list that spans many genres and they offer to learn requested songs. We actually had a difficult time coming up with new songs for them to learn because they already knew so many. In the end, they learned an '80s song for our first dance and a song by Clutch (rock/metal)! We had never seen so many people on the dance floor at a wedding! All of our guests had so many great things to say about the band. They emcee better than most DJs and had great party music between sets (and during our cocktail hour). Kurtis was very responsive and polite toward us and our wedding coordinator during the planning process. The band members were all relaxed and very easy to get along with - plus, Jordan graciously handled the attention she received from my husband's drunk cousin before we had a chance to pull him away. :) The ambiance that Nine Mile Smile helped create at our reception is something that my husband and I are truly grateful for. They exceeded our expectations and made our wedding extremely memorable - guests are still talking about it nearly a year later!

I am so lucky to be able to say that Nine Mile Smile (9MS) provided the musical entertainment for my wedding reception and I highly recommend hiring them! The first thing every bride should know about working with Nine Mile Smile and Kurtis Kaechele (their manager, scheduler, email responder, coordinator, drummer, and all-around great guy) is that they are incredibly responsive and professional in all of their interactions. From my first email to Kurtis inquiring about their availability, Kurtis' replies were always EXTREMELY prompt, courteous, helpful, and fun. Additionally, as we traveled to hear the band, and eventually contracted with them to perform at our wedding, Kurtis was always very helpful in getting things done easily and efficiently (a quality EVERY bride can appreciate!). Up through the wedding, he was responsive, made helpful suggestions, and helped me make our entertainment memorable. 9MS offered a lot of other perks that we did not find in other potential wedding bands. For example, they will learn five brand new songs for you that they do not already know! They do this for EACH wedding couple! This means, if you want that special father/daughter dance song performed live, and if it is not already on their list, they will learn it for you by the time of your wedding! Importantly, there was no additional charge for this – they do it out of their desire to make your wedding personal and perfect for you! Additionally, they provided free emcee and DJing between their music sets. Kurtis does an excellent job with this! Also, 9MS worked with me so well to determine a “fluid set list,” where there definitely were songs that I wanted played, but he was also to fit them into the list appropriately and play to the crowd. Kurtis encouraged me to trust his judgment with this one, and I’m glad I did, because they read the crowd well and definitely kept our dance floor packed! I already knew 9MS sounded great, but the day of the wedding, they sounded fantastic! And I wasn’t alone in my thinking. I honestly did not expect for almost every single one of our guests to come up to me and ask me where we found this band and how did we get them, but that is exactly what happened. Our guests were SO IMPRESSED with the quality of music 9MS provided, they had a GREAT time jamming out to them all night, our dance floor was CONSTANTLY packed (every bride’s reception dream, right?!), and the variety of music was amazing! Their look, vibe, sound, and groove were a perfect recipe for our wedding! Most importantly, the folks making up 9MS will go the extra mile (get it?!) for you! I don't think that I received any special treatment, but let me tell you, it sure FELT like I did! They are an excellent choice if you’re looking for a competitively priced, but above-average quality wedding band. As I said to them, and have said to many others, 9MS was one of the easiest and BEST decisions we made for our wedding!
