Nineteen27 S'mores

We booked 1927 for our wedding and could not have been happier with their service and the s'mores! The s'mores were a hit with our guests, the people working the day of our event were so kind and hard-working, and everyone we worked with for tastings and planning were so easy to work with. At first, my mom was worried we were doing s'mores for our dessert but as soon as I took her to the tasting she came around and was so impressed by everyone we interacted with in the shop that she kept raving about them to everyone. I would absolutely book them for other events in the future and I recommend them to everyone.

We hired 1927 Smores to bring a s'mores bar to our wedding for dessert, and it was so much fun! They brought in all of the supplies and completed the setup so smoothly, and the s'mores were such a fun, unique idea to help us celebrate! We got to choose from a variety of flavors, and they hosted us for a tasting of every single type of s'more, which was incredible. They were easy to communicate with and made the process so easy and fun!

Not being much for cake, we were so happy to find this amazing alternative for dessert at our wedding! The team was so friendly and our guests loved having these handcrafted s’mores! I’m so glad we had some left over at the end of the night because now my husband and I get to snack on leftover marshmallows and crackers each night! Yumm! We chose their bar and server option, but they also offer DIY kits! We highly recommend these gooey creations for your next event!

Instead of a traditional cake and cake cutting for our wedding, we opted to have a s'mores bar and bite into an ooey-gooey s'more for our first dessert as husband and wife. Everything leading up to the day of the wedding in working with 1927 s'mores was promising but the day of was a let-down and the cause for my 2 star review. We hired 1927 very early on with no problem, we even went in for a s'more and parfait tasting to up our order and confirm our flavors. The handoff to our wedding coordinator was no problem either. The problems began when we were promised a certain level of service and flavors and both were not delivered on the day of. We were told 2 servers for the s'mores bar for a wedding of our size, we got 1 server. This resulted in an HOUR long line for 80 people to get a s'more. AN HOUR+. If you have seen how they make these s'mores, you'd understand that it's not entirely shocking but imagine if we had two people to cater to 80 people? Much faster results. Another issue we had is that we were told the servers could dress to match our theme/setting, and that did not happen. The wedding was formal/black tie optional and the guy came in wearing a beanie and flannel. I get that the s'mores vibe is traditionally outdoorsy and that's the vibe for their business but really, for a black tie wedding? No beanie and a simple black shirt with jeans would have been better...In advance of the wedding, they knew we would not be using their decor for the bar and that our wedding coordinator would be bringing platters and such which she did. Gold, black, silver, and marble don't really go with rugged. Anyways...then, the other issue? We selected our three s'more flavors and ended up with pumpkin pie as of of them instead of the marionberry we selected and were promised to have when we were in person at our tasting. It was also what was selected on our signed contract. Of all the things that irritated me on my wedding day, this was it. Pumpkin pie? Why? My husband and I hate pumpkin pie. They could have reached out and said "look, we don't have marionberry but we can offer you X or X flavor instead." Instead, they chose for us which was the worst thing they could have done. This was also the one vendor that guests were not impressed with and kept them away from the dance floor longest. Lastly, when I tried to reach out to discuss this experience, I got a reply once via voicemail from presumably the owner but when I got back from my honeymoon to discuss, NO ONE got back to me. Not via email, phone, or text. I tried on three true occasions before writing this review. My last email to them even stated I would leave this review if they did not care to at the least talk to me about what happened. Such. a. bummer. I assume they were far too busy opening up their shop in SW Portland to offer the best catering experience possible. I would not recommend this vendor for your wedding.
