NKU Student Union Ballroom

I would 100% recommend NKU as a wedding venue (or any other event). The staff were so helpful, friendly, and accommodating. We checked out so many venus but they met our needs perfectly. Not only did we have BOTH our wedding ceremony and reception at the NKU student union ballroom, but we also had NKU’s wonderful caterer and serving staff provide the food, as well as the wedding cake! The venue itself was perfect. With the ceremony on one side of the ballroom, our guests easily went from the ceremony, to a cocktail hour spot, to the reception. They gave us access to rooms to wait in and lock the wedding party’s possessions in, and cooperated with us for all rehearsal. Also, we had the kenton garage open for our guests which was so wonderfully convenient and was the final selling point (another venue we were considering insisted that everyone our age gets a Lyft anyway so it didn’t matter they only had four spots-but I have a large family, with lots of “Boomer” aunts/uncles that I would rather they just had a parking spot). They answered our questions easily and quickly, especially when I last-minute added a bunch of guests and they assured me they could flip the room for us if necessary. They worked VERY well with our other vendors and our wedding planner. Catering: We had specific requests, due to vegetarians in the family, and having unique requests for the hors d'oeuvres and the flavors for the different layers of the cake. We also requested a specific wine they got just for us (the bride and groom). They did it all and were so happy to do so. We received so many compliments about the food and the staff who were so pleasant and efficient. The cake also, was delicious and we received lots of positive feedback for that as well. Also, people were really impressed with the drinks! My family and friends were surprised because they didn’t know this venue existed and they loved it so much! Definitely would recommend and I’m so happy we chose them, and not just for ceremony and reception, but also catering, bartending, and cake. Thanks so much! Susan (and Ian)

I'm so happy we decided to have our wedding at NKU, Leah and Sara were an amazing team to work with. I will admit - before we booked them I was worried about having our event at a venue that isn't necessarily made or known for weddings but, the communication, thoroughness, and affordability were top notch and I'm so happy we went with them. Leah and Sara showed great flexibility and genuinely just wanted our day to be how we envisioned it, we had so many questions that were all answered very quickly and they were always happy to accommodate our requests. We chose to have our ceremony outside, the grounds were beautiful and well kept and the indoor ballroom where we had our reception was the perfect space as well. As for the catering, our guests loved their meals, the signature drink, and thought the staff were kind and professional. Overall we had such a great experience at NKU and they should definitely be considered in your venue search!

Leah and Sarah were perfect to work with. They were flexible, patient and just overall knew what they were doing! The NKU Ballroom is a perfect location for a wedding/reception. The food was amazing as well as the cake. The staff were kind and courteous. It was an easily accessible location with great amenities. To any brides deciding upon a venue, CHOOSE NKU!! This venue takes the stress out of finding a caterer, a cake, and centerpieces for the tables. It is incredibly affordable for any budget too. I will highly recommend this location to any of my friends getting married soon.

We used Northern Class Catering (Catering at Northern Kentucky University) for our bar and food part of our wedding. Our wedding was at Stone Valley Meadows which was offsite and the catering staff did a fantastic job with everything considering it was an off site event not in the NKU ballroom that the staff is use to. Sara Trauth (Catering Director) and Felix (Catering Chef) and the catering staff were so flexible and professional from the start of the planning of the event until the lights came on after the wedding. Every single guest at our wedding complicated the food and polite/kind catering staff through out the whole night! There is no other catering company I would ever book for anything else I may need other than Northern Class Catering at NKU. They made our special day even more special! We will forever be grateful for them! THANK YOU!
